Great Crab Cake and my Husband loved his Fish and Chips with his choice of the type of fish with the chips! You wouldn’t have found the place without looking for it but great seafood. Next visit we are going for the crab legs!

Don’t let the strip mall front deter you. Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Everything is made fresh in house !

Everyone loved their fish/shrimp/seafood but me. I got stuffed shrimp which I love. The shrimp were tiny and had a dime size bit of crabmeat stuffing on top. No exaggeration! They were overcooked and like dry rubber. Rice and veggies cold. The fresh veggies would have been delicious if hot. I will try them again and go for the fresh fish. Hopefully will have better luck. Service was excellent!

Great Grouper and Gouda grits. Hubby had fresh haddock and loved it too. Not crazy about the bread, but who needs it anyway? Generous portions.

Great place for fish, as the name implys. I had the fish and chips, wife had the fresh grouper broiled to perfection. Her fish was second to none and the way it should be. My fish and chips was good but not outstanding. Price was moderate to high, but expected for fresh fish. Room comfortable. Service was good. Will return when I feel like having fish without driving to the beach. Just off of I-75 on rt. 70.

I’ve been here 3 or 4 times now. Every time I’ve been, the food has been consistently good and fresh. The crab legs are a great deal per pound, and their daily specials are great. I’d recommend their fish tacos and crab cakes. The lobster lasagna was interesting, but is a little busy/rich for my taste. Staff is very friendly. I would call ahead as there is not a considerable amount of seating available, especially during snowbird season.

We like it here. Food is consistently good and service is pleasant and prompt. We are always here in winter so prices are up. Find it to be somewhat pricy for the quantity of food. Owner is usually around and visits the tables. There is always a new fresh catch. I love the blackened shrimp and grits. A little salty but very tasty. Will visit again and recommend Cedar Reef.

My uncle took me here as I was visiting from out of town. Atmosphere is fun and the food was great. It was easy to have conversation and it was relaxing. The employees were pleasant and the manager came by to check in on us. Would definitely recommend it.

Wow. On a road trip to the keys. Decided to stop at places along the way for a seafood experience. Damn we nailed it this time. Close to 75. Awesome oysters, redfish, crab cakes and get those New Orleans fries. Just do it. Hit the gym next week. We will be new regulars

Food was flavorless. Garlic scampi was that, garlic. Broccoli was al dente. Shrimp was frozen, thawed and cooked. Overall mediocre flavor not even enlivened by salt or lemon. Save your money and go to a real fish restaurant. This one is much ado about nothing. Silverware in plastic baggies, paper towel napkins, saltines for frackers, and«biscuits» we’re more dough than flavor.

We have dined there several times. In the past we felt the food adequate, but the servers were bad, and we told the owners so. We had a decent waitress last night but the food was not to my liking. Last night we went to dinner there and I ordered a Caesar Salad. I have eaten a lot of Caesar salads in my life but I have never, ever, had one with oil and vinegar dressing with some pepper in it and I don’t know what. I told the waitress that the salad had the wrong dressing. She went back to the kitchen and after about 10 minutes(while my wife sat and ate her fish and chips that have always been good) the waitress returned with a small dish with what appeared to be some concoction of mayo with pepper and some other spices floating in oil. I asked her what I was supposed to do with that and she pointed to the salad. I asked if it was her intent for me to pour this greasy mess over the salad with oil and vinegar dressing in it already. She said that was what she was told to have me do. WHAT??? Pour the oily mess over the top of a pile of greens that may not have even been Romaine that were already covered with oil/vinegar and some sort of spices. The place was almost empty when we got there. It was almost empty when we left. Gee I wonder why when the restaurant next door had a waiting list. Anyway, despite the fact that they took the salad off the bill and they offered me the chance to get something else(I wanted a Caesar salad, not something else) we will never be back again,.

Stopped in today, 1st time visit. We both loved our cold beer, pretty tasty«Volcano Shrimp» appetizer(although the sauce is a bit heavy) and both our meals — Salmon(cooked and served on a cedar plank) and fried Haddock dinners — both very fresh and priced right. Very good sides and fresh veggies, cole slaw and crispy/tasty fries. Good service, but not so much at the bar. Fresh food and comfortable atmosphere.

Just a small place, service great! My husband’s Haddock very good, my blackened redfish only average but we will probably go back and try something else. Prices very good for what they serve.

Okay listen… I’m not a «Yelper», I don’t often leave reviews, but when you come upon a place that makes you download the Unilocal app and sign up for an account it’s something. First, let me tell you that I’m a restaurant person. I’ve done this work for 20 odd years. I might know a thing or two about food and how things should be done. Cedar Reef is legit! Mad scientist level with the Lobster Lasagna. Yes, I said LOBSTERLASAGNA. This isn’t some Italian dish with lobster thrown in but a dish designed around true succulent Maine lobster. Get it. You won’t be sorry. When you find chunks of sweet lobster within you’ll know that I didn’t lead you wrong. Now, for you land lubbers out there: tonight I had the most delicious Gouda and Portobello hamburger. Cooked perfectly with this crazy good siracha mayo. Man oh man, who knew a fish joint could knock out a burger like that! Oh, and grab the smoked fish spread. Just do it! Dessert? Oh nothing more than an amazing peanut butter pie. Not a peanut butter fan? Then go get some key lime brulé. Yep, brulé Florida style. That’s not all folks! We have great food AND awesome service. Owner is usually around(or at his other location in Venice), the manager is super friendly, the wait staff bust their tails to take care of you, and it’s clean. Yep, if I could drop a few more stars on this place, I would. My work travels brought me to Bradenton and I’m so glad I found this little gem.

food was very very good. Alligator soup would of been amazing if served hot. Mine was cold. They took it back and then served it with my dinner. They have no comprehension of service. So they charged me for soup I did not eat. Then they took it into the back for me to take it home. No way I left it on the table. Could not get my wine… Then could not get my beer. I rote this on their comment card. The food was very good so I hope they fix their service. I am ashamed but I left a crap tip taking off the price of my $ 6.00 soup off the tip. It they took the soup off(which I did not eat) I would have left a great tip

Don’t be deterred by the strip mall … This isn’t a cheeky chain restaurant. My parents came about 2 months ago and put it on the«must visit» for us, now it’s on my list as a place I’d easily go back to. Great service, plenty of options on the menu, and really good food. The items that aren’t native to FL tasted just as fresh as the items that are bought locally. If you don’t care for seafood they do have«land» items. Our waitress started working at the other location and when this one opened she asked to work here; while not as «busy» she said she loved the owner, chef, and believed in the food they produced. If that doesn’t make you warm and fuzzy then you don’t have a heart. The food was really good — only the gator soup seemed to differ than the menu description(it wasn’t spicy at all) but still very filling & tasty. Portion sizes were spot on for the $ value. Specials are listed on the wall and come at a nice discount from the regular menu price. Just be aware that since most of the fish is locally purchased, once it’s out — it’s out. Don’t blame the restaurant; they buy what was available that day. All of our dishes were satisfying and filled our bellies. Trivial Pursuit cards were on each table which kept us entertained and the phones away(well, unless I was taking my Unilocal pics ;-)) … Clever idea & very fun. I think the people who left 1 or 2 start reviews should revisit this place, it’s been a year since opening and I’ll tell you what — it’s great. They definitely have their act together so give it another shot.

We were pleasantly surprised with our first visit and we will definitely be back. The décor was warm and inviting and there is also a small bar to one side of the dining area. I especially liked the elevated booths with raised sides for privacy. There are so many great menu items with a large variety of seafood prepared in many different ways. They even snuck gator into the menu! We started with conch fritters which were suprisingly among the best I have ever had! Unlike a lot of other restaurants these had large chunks of conch and were seasoned and fried to absolute perfection. I had the blackened grouper tacos with rice and beans on the side. My tacos were full of tasty grouper. My husband had the lobster roll and it was overflowing with large pieces of meat.(I helped him catch the overflow) Did I mention the draft beer being icy cold? Our waitress had a great sense of humor and was eager to please. We are so glad to have this spot so close by!
