Kelseys on Cortez

Two stars is pushing it. I have ate there twice and will not be going back. The first experience felt like a waste. I ordered the Mahi sandwich which sounded amazing. The waitress comes back a little later and tells me they are out. So I then ordered the chicken wrap with coleslaw. I honestly think my water had more flavor than the meal did. So round one done not impressed but hey maybe it was a bad night so we tried again. Big mistake. My two hour experience consisted of horrible service which I mean the lack of. Kelsey took our order and guess didn’t really care after that. We ordered 20 wings and loaded fries. An hour into it another waitress (Jill) came over and asked if we were finished. I explained we haven’t even received our food yet. So thankfully Jill took Kelseys spot and we where finally served. Jill was great and apologized for the service. But after two visits it’s left a bad taste in my mouth one from the food and one from the service. So save yourself a waste of time.

Let’s see… where should I begin with Kelsey’s?
The first time I went to Kelsey’s was for the burger special, atmosphere seemed decent and the prices were good so I was excited. I ordered a cheeseburger with 2 patties medium well and fries. It took a while but once the food came out it looked great! I bit into my burger and to my surprise I saw that the cook must have misunderstood my order requesting both patties to be medium well and instead gave me one well cooked patty and one medium patty… Odd. While I was munching away on my burger unfortunately another member of my party was waiting for what seemed like forever for the waitress to bring him mayo. After everyone in our party was done eating that’s finally when the mayo arrived and the one hold out could begin eating.
The next time I visited Kelsey’s was for the dreaded wing night. My group arrives and the place is packed! I figure that must be a good sign right? Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long to be seated but things went downhill from there. It took took a bit for our orders to be taken but that was to be expected. Finally orders are taken and we’re off to the salad bar, sounds great but the tricky thing is that it’s hard to eat a salad when it’s impossible to get any silverware. Everyone finished their salad and the wait to get our wings began. We waited and waited and waited. Finally the wings come out! For the most part we were happy with the wings. One member of our group absolutely hated hers, they were covered in spicy burnt paste which she had to scrape off of every last wing. Not good. We all also dislike the «blue cheese» that came with the wings, I don’t know where they get it but it definitely did not taste like blue cheese. The dressing completely lacked the characteristic tang and was super sweet, not terribly appetizing if you ask me.
With all of that said, I will admit I am willing to give Kelsey’s one last shot. Hopefully my next experience is better.

I was torn when rating Kelsey’s. It’s a nice place, nowhere to write home about but that’s to be expected. I went on Thursday which is their wing night. The server I had wrote me off from the beginning. I was there about an hour and she came to my table three times. I was by myself, so I can only assume she figured the bigger tips were elsewhere. I asked for her recommendations and she definitely gave me two good flavors for the wings. They sell them in sets of 5 for .35 cents, don’t trust the menu, it was more expensive than the listing price. I won’t be back anytime soon.

Great food and service is good. Wing night gets crazy busy during season when the snowbirds are in town. Expect a wait. My son says they have one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches.

I just had the All You Cam Eat Fish fry Friday amazing deal and delicious food. Great specials ALL week! I will be back asap for Wing Thursday and Taco Wednesday and probably enjoy their happy hour from 2 – 6 PM.

Food is pretty good for the price, but the service is slow and waitress kept forgetting items we requested.

The food is good however they either need to hire more cooks, or they need to tell people when they arrive that it will be a minimum of an hour before their food order is brought to them yes even with arrival at 8:50 ordering of food by nine it still has not arrived at 10 PM… And I am starving! This is the third time I’ve been here and the third time it took over an hour to get my food I won’t be back.

I dont know why some people are giving this place a bad review. .and I usually dont give reviews. but the food is awsome. and the service was also very good we will continue to go back we had the wings. and they kick the competitors ass. and they have daily specials .we were very impressed..

This place is a hidden treasure! It’s a little bar and grill. The food is amazing and there is plenty to choose from! On Saturday nights they have 24 wings for $ 12…great deal! They were hot and crispy and really hit the spot! We had nachos and there was a huge pile with all the toppings! The fries were very crispy and they had many different varieties. The service was great and they were very attentive. Always there to help with questions, more drinks or anything you needed. I will be back to try some of the other things they have to offer and I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

This a nice little area secret, though you wouldn’t know it’s a secret on Thursday nights when the run a $.25 wing night. The wings are big, and they have plenty of sauces. Overall the food is pretty good. If you go on a Thursday, get there early!

Food is disgusting don’t waste your time. Fries tasted days old. Onion rings are such a waste of an additional up charge they were greasy and watery and they only give you a tiny amount. The cheese on the steak and cheese sandwich was the kind from a can. Gross all the way around

Really impressed. Went for 2 $ burger night and got the unlimited salad bar with it for 4 $ more. Good beer selection too. Nice staff, fast service

Went there on Monday night because their kids menu says kids eat free on Momday. When we got the check the kids meal were not comped so we asked our server who said that they stopped doing kids eat free but they have yet to change the menu. We like to go there because the food is good and the deals they have make it affordable to go out however after them not honoring what they have printed we may not be back. Who knows what they will decide to change next and NOT inform their customers about until after the fact.

Avoid at all costs! Went for dinner on a recent Saturday night at around 6:00, and we were basically the only customers in the entire restaurant. This place was most definitely surprisingly dead for a reason … Our food took over 30 minutes to get to the table, which normally would not have been a huge deal, but seeing as we were basically the only customers in the restaurant, it felt strange that it took this long. When our food finally did arrive, it was less than appetizing. Our burgers were burnt, the fry basket had a puddle of grease at the bottom of it, etc. We most definitely will not be returning to Kelsey’s on Cortez.

I ordered a burger (medium rare) and fries to go. I get home to a burned beyond all recognition burger and a stale ice cold bun. The french fries were way underdone. A clump of them were still frozen! I live less than 5 minutes away, so it wasn’t a long ride home that was the cause of it. They have Tuesday 2 $ burgers. Some people will eat anything on the cheap!

Sorry folks… But so far not impressed… My burger was burnt (I specifically requested the outside to not be black). I couldnt even eat it. The wings are so small you better ask for a double batch. The fried pickles were ok but just ok., everyone was raving about this place so I had to check it out… Maybe this is just a bad day? there was only 3 tables with people so it wasnt busy… Needless to say disappointed today. We will have to come back and order something else next time… on a positive note the waitress was awesome…

We came on $ 2 burger night. The guys enjoyed them, especially for the price. Myself and another friend had a salad and we both enjoyed ours. The only downer was the service. Our server was not completely familiar with the menu when asked questions. They were also slow to return when asked for various items. The place was pretty packed though. Overall a decent experience. Can’t beat the price!

Great burgers and cold beer! Service was excellent too. We went on a Tuesday and it was $ 2 burger night. Will be back next Tuesday.

Ok, so we went in for a business lunch today. Service was outstanding, waitress greeted us as we entered and took great care of us. Tried the original basket (hamburger and fries) was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time, very well seasoned. Will definitely be adding it to my regular lunch rotation.
