Stay away. Had a CT scan, and they never told me I had tumors in my liver.

Manatee Memorial Emergency Room DIEBEFOREYOUGOHERE!!! GOTOBLAKEER! Dr Amy Macher Manatee Memorial ER Bradenton FL and Dr Amy Macher Lakewood Ranch MD is pathetic ! For suspected Gall Bladder rupture and I definitely have a UTI and Kidney stones I have been passing — which I felt took a toll on my gall bladder. Atleast Blake Emergency was MUCHBETTER and figured the last two out — LASTWEEK. {GOTOBLAKEIFYOUNEEDER or PINNACLEURGENTCARE on 75th St W as they also have a CT Scan now} But this time my Urologist agreed to meet me at Manatee Memorial Emergency room and if it was gall bladder he could still handle it. He is not admitted to Blake. Manatee Memorial ER, specifically Dr Macher REFUSEDTOCALLHIM!!! I did wait in a lot of pain until after 3:00 when he was done with his private practice. Amy Macher let me know she was in charge and not calling him right off the bat. So Amy Macher MD from a joke school of Ross Medical University and interned in hard core Brooklynn NYER has barely been practicing two whole years. The moment my sonogram came back as gall bladder OK she was releasing me almost INSTANTLY. I was SHOCKED. I asked her«Did you run a culture yet on my urine? And she said«No that would take 2 or 3 days to come back» WHYDIDTHEYBOTHERTAKINGTHEURINE??? She admitted she HADNOTSEEN my blood work EITHER before she determined she was releasing me. SO Post Facto she goes to see and I am POSITIVE they really checked nothing. I left feeling sicker than ever and not sure what to do. I have been urinating blood all day. If your cut or shot they will surely stitch you up. But if you have anything ambiguous you can go to hell and I have the best insurance offered. Read the other reviews because they say about the same thing.

If I had Health insurance I’d probably give this place a 5 star from what I saw. I needed antibiotics quickly and the Urgent Care place wouldn’t touch me, they seem to specialize in bandages, fish hooks and over grown toenails. You know the deal, the hospital has to do all the test for their protection from the lawyers so blood test, ultrasound, blood pressure, temperature etc. I had to put an end to the test because ALL this was coming out of MY pocket. After signing papers relieving them of liability I got my prescription for antibiotics(they do this for about $ 8 in ALL of Latin America) went home got better blah, blah, blah. Three weeks later I get a bill for $ 800, no problem, I paid it and then the surprise, the resident doctor in training who wrote 9 words on a prescription pad sends me a bill for $ 900, yes I said $ 900 for the privilege of being in his presence. This is a scam and this hospital should be ashamed of themselves to allow this. Medicaid will pay that same Doc $ 150 and they will get the same if they sell my bill to collections so I lose no matter what. I hate the American Health system that wants to enslave you for your entire life one way or another.

Recently, I fell at home and cracked my head againt the floor causing a nasty gash above my left eye. I first went to Urgent Care in Lakewood Ranch(see my review) who wouldn’t do a damn thing for me. So I went to Manatee Memerial ER. They had the best staff I had ever seen, everyone was helpful and attended to my needs. They put me on a «fast track» and I was in and out of there in a short time. I was attened to by Dr. Jolly, a very good physician, he and his team were like a fine tuned machine in caring for me, and the intern who put in the five stiches did a great job as to my scar is almost invisible. If I am ever in need of medical attention MMER is my first stop.

I have been in and out of this hospital and others in the area for the last 5 years. This one has good quality care. Nurses who care and CNAs who would do just about anything for me. They’ve saved my life, literally, a couple times. I have my own doctors but the ER has some high quality doctors. Again… one saved my life. The food is not bad(vegetarian) and i didn’t wait long for assistance when needed. This is my primary hospital.

I agree somewhat about the nursing staff and the Dr. review. My Dad was in and out for a year. I guess living in Philadelphia makes me a bit more critical in what to expect at a hospital. My expectations fell way short after leaving there. I felt I needed to be there 24⁄7 to make sure my Dad was being well cared for as one time I came in and he was left on the john for 3 hours. We also had another family member go into the Behavioral Health unit at this hospital. Much worse experience! There was dementia involved and this person was put on psyche meds released with no further advice or assistance! Not one of the medical personnel would return call! 8 phone calls were made requesting medical help or the name of the Doctor she was referred to outside the hospital. Over a 10 day period and no calls ever returned. The family had to go elsewhere for assistance. All I have to say is Thank God my immediate family and I live in Philly!

My father has spent the last three weeks at this hospital and I have been staying with him. The hospital itself is a nice facility, it is clean, good cafateria, good coffee shop, The employees have all been very nice — great nurses, sitters, and other staff. Not sure about the doctors, they are nice enough but I don’t feel comfortable about the level of care.
