Manatee YMCA

My family and I have been using this YMCA since our move to Florida in 2010. The staff here is amazing! They have become like a 2^nd family to both myself and my son, who has special needs, (they have gone above and beyond to help him learn and grow over the years)! I HIGHLY recommend the Bradenton Branch YMCA on 59^th Street!!! ANYONE looking for GREAT youth sports, an excellent gym with state-​of-​the-​art exercise equipment, a newly renovated basketball gymnasium, fun group exercise classes-​even for kids, an indoor heated pool, and STELLAR childcare… look no FURTHER!
Sadly, at the end of the school year we moved out to east Bradenton, so they are no longer close by… my son DID spend this summer at their summer camp and had the time of his life! Even with the distance, and added travel time, this is STILL our YMCA of choice! He will be returning for day-​off camps, breaks from school this year, and possibly for summer camp again next year, but we will truly miss the daily interaction we’ve had for years with this TRULY amazing group of individuals!

My wife and I were on vacation in Florida and needed to get our morning workout in.
We drove about 10 minutes in from Holmes Beach and after signing a waiver, they let us in the Y.
The didn’t have my LifeFitness cross trainer, which was kind of a bummer, but they did have a bunch of Precor equipment.
My wife worked out on the machines, which she said were a little old.
I looked at the schedule of classes, and there were quite a few of them.
Lots of TVs line the wall and the free weights looked plentiful and lots of working out room.

Staff was very rude and not helpful at all. Every time I’d ask a question when I was signing up, the guy was acting like I was inconveniencing him, even though when I walked in, he was just reading a book. The facilities were very clean and the kids seemed to be having a blast in the class that was going on while I was there.

Lots to do here from working out to swimming. Lots of classes for adults, children, and teens, including sports. Check out their website for more information.
