We deiced to go kayaking when my fiances sister, husband and kids were in town and I’m so glad we did. Not only that we did but that we went with Shan-T! You launch off int Emmerson Point/Park in Palmetto and get to kayak through the mangrove tunnels, into the bay and then back. It took about 2.5−3 hours. It’s a good lenght for a newbie kayaker or even an experianced one who wants a laid-back tour. Our tour guide(Shanty?) was amazing! He was so knowledagble about the area. The water was a little chilly but not terrible. It was neat to see starfish and such in the water. My fiancé even found a bouy or two that had washed ashore for a keepsake :)

Went with a large group on Sunday, WEHAD A BLAST! It was the perfect length, 2.5 hours. The area where you Kayak around is really BEAUTIFUL. The guide was very friendly, able to explain the wildlife, and actually showed us some wild life. He gave a brief explanation on Kayaking which was easy to understand. We did not have any pictures because we forgot our camera. The kayaks were comfortable and worked great. A little dirty but by the end of this I had so much muck and water in the kayak it did not bother me. It was a perfect day, cool but not cold, a little sunny towards the end.

Bought a Groupon for the Manatee Tour. The groupon was delayed in being sent to us, so we made our reservation after the groupon was available. Apparently this meant that our reservation was made less than 48 hours in advance(even though the groupon was purchased before that time frame) and they called us a FULL12HOURS later to tell us they wouldn’t honor the reservation. Even though our reservation was still over a day in advance, and we explained the situation. Then when she offered us a different tour we asked if we could talk about it, and call back in 5. The woman gave MAJORATTITUDE. EXTREMELYRUDE. Find another place to see a manatee; this one is not worth the rudeness.

Went out yesterday to do the mangrove tour at Emerson Point in Palmetto. It was great and we had a great time. Michelle was wonderful and was pointing out all sorts of stuff for use to see. The tours always change a bit with what is out and who is in the group. I think this a great thing to do with family and friends. Well worth the money and always changing. Would recommend!
