Ugh! The tomato soup tastes like spaghetti sauce. When I took it back up to exchange it for something else, I was told «Yeah. We get that a lot». Really?
The grilled cheese sandwich was so greasy it was nauseating.
Shared a few bites of their cookie dough doughnut dessert and it was the worst course of all! So gross! Finished lunch over an hour ago and my stomach still hurts! Ugh!

Really good, hit the spot, fun and tasty! The décor is a little ‘loud’, but I get the branding. Wow, they have a great selection for sandwiches and grilled donuts too! Don’t come here if you’re looking for some light fare, or vegan, organic, root grass, farm-​sourced sandwiches. This is not for the customers who turn their noses up in the air over lack of sprouted grain bread options. If you want a filling meal of comfort food focused on cheese, cheese and more cheese, then come here ’cause that’s what you’ll get!

I was not impressed by the long awaited opening of Tom & Cheese. It was ok, frankly I was expecting good quality bread and gooey cheese in between, but not the case. It tasted more like a Texas toast and some semi warm cheese as oppose to grilled cheese. A little pricey too!

Worst new restaurant on university drive. Tom soup was terrible and the grilled cheese was bland. Bllllahhhh

Can someone tell me what all the hype is here? I ordered broc chz soup and the grilled beef and cheddar sandwich. First of all the soup was watery and tasteless, the sandwich had thick brick cuts of what was supposed to be beef, nothing but gristle, cheese and a nasty horsey sauce. This was not what I had in mind at all after hearing the entire town rave about this place. What a let down and a wasted $ 11 lunch that was thrown in the trash. I suppose if you want a basic grill cheese and tomato soup it just might be ok but anything more, good luck!

Nothing special honestly, was really excited to try it after I remembered seeing it on shark tank. I order the grilled Mac and cheese, the Swiss and mushroom grilled cheese, and the creamy tomato basil. Both grilled cheeses were very underwhelming, the grilled Mac and cheese was slightly better, the creamy tomato basil soup was very bland. For $ 20 I could’ve just made it by myself at home. Again, very disappointed.

My first time here… I just have this kind of luck. Ordered the Philly Sandwich, grilled cheese with roast beef, onions, peppers, mushrooms and banana peppers with creamy tomato soup and a drink… affordable @ $ 11.00 and change. Food comes out pretty quickly, I dig into the tomato soup, and it is great. I am looking at my sandwich, it looks a little thin. The cook comes out and says, sorry I forgot to put the Roast Beef on your sandwich, do you want it? I’m thinking yeah, that’s what makes this a Philly. Instead of taking my sandwich back and remaking it, or giving me another one, she hands me a side of Roast Beef. I guess I will make it myself… smh!
Follow up, before I left the cook came out and gave me a buy one get one 50% off card for my next visit… she also apologized again, profusely. I raised them a star for effort.

I truly enjoyed my experience at Tom+Chee! The grilled cheese with tomato sandwich was perfectly grilled. The tomato soup dipper was great! The Mac & Cheese was different than I thought it would be, but still enjoyable. The girl that waited on me was very pleasant and the restaurant was very clean. I have definitely found a spot to fulfill my grilled cheese craving when I come down to visit my dad.

Cheese and carbs are my everything and this local chain with creativity takes on a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soups, and salads.
Mac + Chee is a bowl of cheesy creamy macaroni at first bite and perfect for a side, with the basic Tom + Chee sandwich. With the grilled mac + chee, you have your macaroni inside your sandwich, which is delicious as well. Infamous grilled cheese donut was somewhat over the top full of sweetness for me. May try the interesting s’more grilled cheese donut when I return.
Phenomenal first visit without a line or wait, and cashier was extremely helpful despite it being her first day. Taking advantage of my satisfied cheese addiction, for as long as I am in the area.

This place took me straight to flavortown! Diving into the grilled cheese so quick you would think that I was Michael Phelps. Oh yeah, baby! The crazy variety of grilled cheeses is absolutely phenomenal and incredibly helpful for someone as picky as myself. I got the Ham + Chee with potato chips inside (always get the potato chips!!). If Guy Fieri was coming to the area, he would definitely be visiting Tom + Chee.

Very good grilled cheese and tomato soup. Got the combo. Small cup of soup sandwich and ice tea. Basic model on white. $ 9 dollars. Great product just a little expensive.

Went here for the first time with my boyfriend on Saturday. It was chilly and raining outside so, we figured it would be a perfect day for comfort food. I opted for the custom grilled cheese, choosing american and pepper jack cheeses, plus pepperoni. My boyfriend ordered their pesto chicken sandwich and a «Bananarama» grilled donut for us to split.
The food came out quickly, within 10 minutes. My grilled cheese was delicious! The pepper jack cheese and pepperoni gave it a really awesome flavor and the bread was toasty and buttery. My boyfriend loved his pesto chicken sandwich as well. The main thing though, was that grilled donut. A grilled glazed donut topped with smoked gouda cheese, bananas, and cinnamon — wow! I can honestly say that I’ve never really tasted anything quite like it before, but it was ridiculously amazing. The gouda cheese somehow provided a great balance — making sure the donut wasn’t too sweet.
The counter service was super friendly. The interior was very clean, but it was very bright. The walls are bright red and yellow which can be a little intense on the eyes at first. Still, the food is the showcase here. Fast, easy, delicious comfort food. We will definitely be back.

Very fast service (had our order in less than 10 minutes from ordering). Food was great, good temperature and not greasy (but it was buttery)!
We had the flying pig, the ham and chee and the King. Overall, very very good! People were super friendly too.

A contender for worst meal of the year. Don’t go. Tomato soup is basically a #10 can of marinara sauce. Greasy grilled cheese but wait… where was the cheese.
NO flavor NO atmosphere, no music but they did roll out a giant garbage can thru what they call a dining room for an interesting sound at 7:00 p.m.
I would say my 6 year old Grandnephew can make a better grilled cheese sandwich, with CHEESE, but that would almost be an insult to the 6 year old. I fear I will have nightmares of the grammar school cafeteria food but wait, at least highland Park Elementary used real cheese in the sandwich. If you choose to eat there after reading this, then you deserve to eat The King donut. Elvis is rolling in his grave.

About time this place opened! I never thought it was going to happen. I’ve been impatiently awaiting it’s opening since seeing them on Man vs. Food.
Went on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30pm & it wasn’t overlying packed yet the service was very slow. The line moved slowly and then it took what seemed like ages for them to bring our food out. NEVERTHELESS, it was worth the wait!
Basic grilled cheese w/​American was buttery & had the perfect crunch. But ohhhhhh, the highlight was «The King» banana, peanut butter mascarpone, & mozzarella on a donut was SCRUMPTIOUS! I wish it were bigger; I almost ordered another but I didn’t want to wait again.
I can’t wait to go back to try the S’more!

I was excited to finally get a Tom and Chee after hearing and reading about the company before. I have been here three times already. The grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious and unique. My favorite so far is the grilled Mac n cheese sandwich with a side of the chunky tomato soup. There famous doughnuts are pretty tasty as well although a bit on he greasy side. I tried the blueberry blue and it was so good (was on man vs food). This seems like a great place for lunch or a place to bring the kids and try all the different grilled cheese sandwiches.

Waiting for this to open for a long time. I love grilled cheese and tomato soup. I think they are doing a good job trying to get a fast casual franchise off to a good start. They need to have dumb proof food service. That being said I think it makes the food very average too. you order at the counter and give you a number very efficient.
The food is fresh but the cheese on the sandwich is a little skimpy unless your up charge for more. If you order bacon or tomatoes on the sandwich it is chopped not slices, weird for me but easy for staff. My sandwiches have all been a little greasy.
I like the tomato soups but I would like more choices. The blue cheese chili was weird.
It was worth a try but I’m going back to Jason’s deli next door

Picked up lunch for our crew at work. Online ordering is not available for another week. Ordered takeout in the store and the wait was only about 10 minutes. We had the bbq + bacon grilled cheese /​ham + chee grilled cheese /​Cuban grilled cheese. Everything was amazing. The crunch on the toast was perfectly executed. Also had a bowl of the classic tomato soup and it was delicious. Welcome to the area Tom + Chee! Will definitely be back.

I have this fuzzy memory of a life I believe may have been mine. A life that was before I ate my first bite of the Tom + Chee grilled cheese donut. Hazy images of a comparatively mundane and unexamined life. A life not-​quite-​real because it was not-​quite-​lived.
But then Tom + Chee opened and I took a bite of my first grilled cheese donut. I do not know what I expected to feel, but what I DID feel was … well… Truth. Truth in the form of sweet fried cheesy deliciousness.
In all seriousness, the place is great. You donut know what you are missing ;) So flippin gouda.
