Stopped in around 9AM today to pick up some beef & vegetables. The vegetables that I planned on buying were over all below par. The bagged yellow onions were okay and after a few tries, I found a bag without black dry smut that is so often on onions. All of the onions that I looked at while hunting for the best were dry and firm with little or no damaged onions. The green beans looked like they had a rough life(brown spots) so I skipped them. The zucchini and yellow squash seemed old because many of them were limp but I was able to find a couple small ones that were fairly firm. I choose small ones when buying squash by the pound. The beef availability was scanty. There were 2 top round ‘roasts’ that looked like they were not one piece of meat, 3 eye of round roasts, and around 6 bottom round roasts. I purchased one of the eye of round but didn’t bother with the top round roasts(planned on picking up a couple). I forgot to snoop around to see if there were more away from the normal beef area, but if there was more then why don’t they keep the primary location stocked up too? One hour after the store opens should have the shelves stocked and vegetable bins filled. Of course, knowing the day that they get in their vegetable shipments would provide a better shopping experience.
