Traveling and wanted a good restaurant. This place was awesome. Carla was excellent, the food was great and the architecture and old woods inside the converted library were beautiful. Beware, the portions are very generous. And the prices are very cheap. There is an old train set on top of the bar wall that entertained our kids tirelessly. The only recommendation I have for the restaurant manager is a small one and it is to have the carpets throughout deep cleaned. It must be impossible to keep them clean in a restaurant. But even if you don’t, I’d go back. Thank you for taking care of my family during our travels.

I had the rack of lamb, which came with 4 pieces, a side of baked sweet potato, salad and rolls. I was disappointed with the size of each piece of lamb, getting no more than 1 – 2 bites from each. Considering this and the price is the reason for just 4 stars. The seasoning and tenderness were amazing and cooked just right(medium rare). The service was definitely a 10!

This place is a fraud and the food isn’t great, take the time drive over to Olean to get excellent beef at the Beef N Barrel.

I came to Bradford for the weekend and was told that THE place to eat was Beefeaters. Frankly, the food was not good at all. Barely edible is what I’ll call their food. It took 15 minutes for my beer to arrive, I could have gotten better potato skins at TGIF or Texas Roadhouse, and the burger could have been cooked at an outdoor bbq the way it was slapped together. My coworker got steak tips over noodles and that looked like I could have gotten them from a can at the supermarket. Frankly I will not be spending my money here ever again.

Went to Beefeater’s last night as their evening rush was winding down although you wouldn’t have thought that was the case given the service. First, it took 20 minutes for them to set up a table for 7 people. Then, it took 3 hostesses to figure out that ours was the group of 7 to be seated. Oh, wait… we were the ONLY people left to be seated at the time. Then, we waited and… waited for a server who seemed in a rush to get our order. Never mind the fact that it is DARK in their so reading their extensive menu take some time. Then… here is where the weirdness really started: we sat and waited… and waited… and waited and… waited. In fact, we began to wonder if they had left and locked us in. Other than the occasional staff setting up for the next day, the place was deserted! When our food arrived… it was tepid at best! Just what you want when eating what’s supposed to be really good meal… barely edible roast beef, burgers and scallops… all just warm and the beef with near cold gravy! So much for this… we won’t be back! The two stars are for what COULD’VEBEEN!

I hate using the word quaint because it can sometimes imply sarcasm and be a euphemism for«only ok». But in its truest sense of the word, Beefeaters really is a nice quaint family restaurant. When we walked in(myself, my wife and 2 young children) we were greeted quite pleasantly. The large dining room with what looked like mile high ceilings and Aunt Bea’s favorite wall paper(blue pastel) reminded me of my own aunt’s living room. The server was as polite and courteous as can be. You can tell the servers at Beefeaters support each other. I noticed other servers making sure things were ok. Loved that. We started with the cheddar and bacon potato skins. A little over cooked but a solid effort. The kids had the spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was just better than adequate. No mama mancini in the kitchen, but no Chef Boy Ar Dee crap either. I had the beef barley soup and opened face beef sandwich. Both dishes were good. The beef in the beef barley soup was ever soooooo tender! Lots of gravy smothering thinly sliced roast beef on the opened face beef sandwich. Definitely reminded me of Arby’s when it was first served but tasted quite a bit better. My wife had the beef tips over rice. Same beef served in the beef barley soup but smothered in brown beef gravy.(By now you should be getting the picture regarding the gravy$ Beefeaters offers 11 different desserts and a full bar for alcoholic beverages. I was exercising dietary will power and decided to forgo both. All in all, if you happen to find yourself in this part of the world, Beefeaters is a place to try. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, good food, reasonable prices.

Loved the atmosphere — it’s located in an old library, so it’s got that«classy» feeling. It’s a great venue for any occasion, especially if you want to impress a lady on a date. The lighting is perfect and there are old newspapers embedded on the table tops — awesome idea! They didn’t forget to add candles either: D. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly, and the service is close to perfect overall. I tried one of the roast beef dishes(I forgot which one exactly) but it was cooked as desired and seriously had that home-made taste! Everything was cooked within 15 minutes I think. My date and I also shared an ice cream desert but I forgot the name of it! It was mostly chocolate and had a coffee flavor as well. The pricing was for the most part fair, though I think the portions could have been a bit larger. Overall it was a fun experience and I’d love to return. Too bad they don’t have another location in my town!

This place was reccomended by the front desk person at our hotel. We were so glad we followed her recommendation. The atmosphere was quite charming. It is in an old library and the rooms are huge. Our food was fantastic. I had the roast beef sandwich and my fiancé had the beef on weck. He said it was the best he has ever eaten. It was reasonably priced too.

We are staying in Bradford for a few days — spent today in Buffalo. We never managed to eat a beef on weck while we were there. So we came by Beefeaters — what a delight. Their Kimmelweck buns are baked here in Bradford and they are great. Don’t laugh at the Beef Bar! Amazingly done roast beef. Beautiful building — restored old Carnegie library.

This is another quaint spot in downtown Bradford. The restaurant is in an old renovated library so it has a lot of character. My co-workers and I ordered the breaded calamari and sampler to share. The calamari was fresh and cooked well(the squid wasn’t tough but still very tender). The sampler, which included onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini and fried mushrooms, was also very good. It came with bleu cheese and marinara sauce for dipping. As an entrée, I ordered the sliced beef plate. The plate included a side salad, thinly sliced beef and a basket of bread. The meat wasn’t super flavorful but was really tender. It tasted great sandwiched between their bread/roll with a little bit of horseradish slathered on top. It was slightly under-seasoned for my liking so I added a dash of salt which made it taste much better. I ended up dipping the make-shift sandwich into the juices/au jus which was good. Overall, it was a decent meal. Nothing really to rant and rave about but it was pretty solid.

This restaurant is in an old library which gives it such charm. My son and I had the chicken gumbo soup and beef on a wick sandwich. Both were amazing. Great service, cannot wait to go back.

I enjoy coming here to get a drink at the bar. The food, however, is basic. The last time I was here I ordered salmon. While I realize this is a «beef place», if a restaurant puts something on their menu I assume they can do it well. This was not the case. The salmon was flavorless and tasted like it came out of an Aldi freezer pack. The rice that came with it was plain and flavorless as well. The consistently mediocre food I have had here over multiple visits, when compounded with the price they charge, has been enough to ensure I won’t go any farther than the bar.

You cannot beat their Beef on Weck sandwich, beef dinner or french fries with gravy. It is what they do best. I avoid all else. We frequent monthly.

A must have nearly every time I come home to Bradford. I remember when this building used to be the old library, it brings back memories of reading the big Calvin and Hobbes books with my brothers when we were kids. Their food is always great, the service is prompt and friendly, and Dom(the owner) always takes a moment to say hi and see how I am doing. If you are int eh neighborhood, stop in and give them a shot. Heck, if you are driving through I would get off at the Elm street exit and take the 2 minute drive to stop in for lunch, you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I were camping in the area and wanted some steak. Locals recommended Beefeaters. We were greeted cordially and seated within 10 minutes(at 8:30 p.m. on a saturday night, not bad). Waitress was clearly rushed, her speech was fast and she was hardly pleasant. We always smile and attempt to be gracious, as anyone should be, but that didn’t matter. We ordered our dinners and mine was described as coming with«Rolls and Greens»…no, it didn’t. It was a measly side salad with 2 rolls that my husband and I shared. No offer from said waitress for anything else. We also ate at the local Dairy Queen that weekend… their service was stellar and the older lady at the counter greeted us cheerfully and thanked us politely. Beefeaters, you should take a lesson from DQ!

Food was excellent, service was great, only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the lack of draft beers, only 2. They did have bottles from some great local breweries. I would recommend this place highly when in Bradford.
