No need to avoid anymore since they no longer exist by this name. It was one of the worst buffets ever! Cold food, horrible service, dirty silverware.

Just passing thru town and found this place… Got there around 6 on Friday night and it wasn’t packed so we kind of questioned the lack of popularity. Food was OK but we were starving so that probably made it seem better than it actually was. Unsanitary ice cream scoops were soaking in a lukewarm pool of dairy water. Got the bill for hubby and I and it was a total of $ 27.89. We were paying with a card and asked our server if we pay her or at the desk on the way out. She said she could take it and when she brought it back the total said $ 29 and some change. So much for her tip! And we didn’t even get fortune cookies! This placed is out!

Went there for the first time last night with the hubs,(he really wanted sushi!) We went there between 5 – 5:30 pm so pretty close to dinner time, granted it was on a Thursday but I noticed a lot of the food had been sitting out for quite sometime, was hoping for some fresh food, and maybe some chicken fried rice, orange chicken, etc. It was pretty basic nothing spectacular, my husband is a easy person to please so he didn’t have a problem, he said the sushi was meh. ok. The price was decent we paid about $ 25.00 so not to bad, I would much rather have gown to Kansai or Great Wall.

I love this place! Affordable, and you get your money’s worth. The sushi is great! The desserts aren’t the greatest though. Friday and Saturday nights they have all you can eat crab legs, which are usually really good!

like the previous review I went when they opened and it was good, hot, and fresh. but went today, months later and I wanted to induce vomiting. the food was cold, dry, and not tasty, like they had it sitting all day. our waitress didn’t fill up not 1 of the 5 drinks we had and this will be the last time I go. sorry great wall for trying something else.

I had only been to this buffet once before, and that was back when it first opened. I was feelin’ some Chinese buffet food and we decided to try this out instead of going to our usual spot(Great Wall on W Court St). Bad idea. The restaurant used to be Ryan’s Steak House and then Old Country Buffet moved in. When they closed, Royal Buffet opened up. The building itself is really nice and appears well laid out. The issue is that the aisles between buffet stations are narrow and hard to maneuver around when it gets busy. There must have been a family of 10 eating while I was here because people were standing around the serving areas talking to each other and not moving. I felt like it was Black Friday and the lo mein was a 60″ LED for $ 499. Ridiculous and this was at 11 am on a TUESDAY. Jeez. Every single item was cold. Not even lukewarm. They couldn’t even had been open that long! Which leads me to believe the trays came out of the fridge and were placed on the steam table/warmer to warm up. The General Tsos sauce tasted like legit ketchup. I took a bite of everything on my plate but couldn’t continue eating anything. The sushi is okay, but of the same quality as the prepackaged sushi at Walmart. I didn’t try the hibachi grill, but the ingredients looked fine(raw veggies and meat). The only items I found half way decent were the egg drop soup and the fried Chinese donut things. And the fact that my drink was $ 1. Don’t waste your time or money coming here.

This quality of this place has zinged back and forth so fast I think I have food whiplash. They recently lowered their prices to ten bucks for dinner and seven for lunch. I have eaten here about every other week since it opened and it suffers from the same problems as other buffet style places do: when they are slow, the food is not fresh… but when they are busy, the buffet tables are a wreck with little kids sneezing and touching shit all over the place. The redneck parents in this place let their little obnoxious seven to eleven year old boys make a total mess, dumping food and chocolate from the fountain all over. On my most recent visit, I kept going back to get pepper steak until I ate the whole thing. Then they brought more and it was fresh and much better, but you know… I was full by then. The part where you put together your own dish and have them cook it for you? Really nice ingredients for this part. Pizza blows, dont even try it. Sushi is pathetic. Better rolls at a supermarket. So overall, OK but they are kind of an american joke. They make everything taste just like every other dive Chinese place with no flair at all. Tip for the owner: try something new. Try and create a dish that nobody else has ever tried. Try some Thai stuff like putting golden mountain sauce on the grill or kekap manis on the grill. Come one dude, I know you are struggling… I am just trying to help here for christ’s sake!!! I’m a regular. Short review? Not bad at all. This is an old Ryan’s buffet that was completely remodeled, and it is pretty nice by Chinese buffet standards. The food is good, to the extent you like this genre, and they try hard. They lowered their prices in the last few months, too, and if you grab a coupon for another dollar off it is very inexpensive. Worth a visit IMHO if you are in the area, but not worth a special trip.

We went at 4pm. The place was clean and the service was good. Food was old and had been sitting out for a while. 20 minutes later they got busier and starting putting the fresh stuff out which tasted a lot better but still not great. I’m physically ill walking out.

I feel the need to change my review as this is no longer a 5 star for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still good by buffet standards, but the food is no longer hot and fresh as it was when it first opened. The problem is, less people go now that the hype has worn off — therefore, food isn’t being rotated out as frequently. The way to get around that is to do the stir fry that they have up front. You pick the raw veggies and meat, then hand it to a cook who makes it for you. You have your choice of 3 spices — garlic, hot and some other one. The hot is SPICY, so be forewarned. They have lowered their price which is good, because I usually only eat one plate at a buffet so I can never justify paying $ 13 – 14 for buffet food. They do however have fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain, but the darn thing is never turned ON so I don’t know what that’s about. The thing that’s bizarre to me is you don’t pay till the end. This is the first and only buffet that I’ve been to that requires payment at the end. I just have weird mental visions of my card being declined and the staff jumping on my stomach until I puke it all up. I need to stop being so weird.
