Elena’s Cafe

If you can help it, do not waste your money at Elena’s. I believe I have finally learned my lesson. The salad bar is good but over priced. The lunch specials are tasty, but lets talk about the wraps, sandwiches and paninis. Not only are they are haphazardly thrown together there is obvious cross contamination. When you order a BLT you get half of the crumbs from the sandwich made prior stuck in your bread. The employees are not familiar with the menu and have to be told what goes in your sandwich and how to make it (Rueben) and after all that… it’s still made incorrectly — every time. The paninni I ordered today came with cole slaw in the sandwich, I think I had like 4 piece of sliced cabbage in total. It’s pretty obvious the kid behind the counter making the sandwiches/​wraps HATES his job. Love the look of disgust on his face as you approach him to order… I guess I’ll be driving down the street to get lunch in the future!

As a lover of sandwiches and tenant of 25 BHOP for over 10 years, I wholeheartedly support Elena’s Café.
You might face the occassional language barrier, but the negatives end there.
The food is fairly priced, consistent and the convenience of in-​building dining is wonderful.

Word of warning to anyone eating at Elena’s, especially at their 2 Batterymarch Park location: check your receipt! The cashier here routinely and intentionally over-​charges. I bought the lunch special here last Friday — the tuna melt with fries, advertised in multiple places around the café as $ 5.95. The cashier inexplicably rings me up at $ 6.25. I complained and got attitude and a completely nonsensical explanation. Either Elena has failed to train her staff on how to use the register, our education system has failed to teach basic math skills, or they are intentionally ripping us off. I’ll remove this complaint if Elena rectifies it with me.

I absolutely love going to Elena’s for lunch. Great service. Food is delicious. The specials and soups are amazing!!! The place is also very clean. Highly recommend this place!!!

It’s amazing what a business with a captive clientele (the office park) gets away with. Almost everyone here has a real bad attitude. There’s always some bickering behind the counter. The food is mediocre. The hours are redonkulous — they close in stages starting at like, 1:30pm.
I only go down these days to grab a drink and maybe some pre-​packaged hummus, chips, etc. I always have to stand around like an idiot waiting for someone to come to the register. Last week the girl swiped my card, said «thank you» and walked away. Today she shows me a credit card slip with NO card number/​name/​etc saying the transaction from last week didn’t go through and she wants me to pay some random dollar amount she wrote on the slip. Really? Great way to do business!
