I am thoroughly confused by the other reviews for this place. Am I going to the same store as these other people? We are talking about the liquor store in the granite plaza next to Harbor Freight tools across from the Braintree High School, right? EDIT: It appears that some reviewers are confusing this place with Granite Liquors in Weymouth( ). Back to my review of the Braintree store… This is the worst package store I’ve been to on the South Shore, and trust me I’ve been to a lot of them. First of all the place is practically empty, except for the wine section. If you’re looking for various bottles of cheap wine, there’s not too much to complain about. There are maybe two aisles of liquor and the shelves are easily more than half empty. There are NO craft beers. Hell, there are hardly any GOOD beers in the coolers! The top of the line stuff you’ll find here are Guinness and Sam Adams. Oh yea, and the prices are noticeably higher — especially on the liquor. The person at the register clearly doesn’t want to be there either. To sum up: this place is dirty, nearly empty, expensive, and a waste of your time. The only reason I can see somebody voluntarily going to this store is if they live within a 2 minute walking distance, and they’re too drunk to drive.

By far the best package store on the South Shore. It’s the place for Craft beers. I am absolutely spoiled by having this place so close to me as it saves me quite a few road trips to find these hard to locate beverages.

I happen to live in Weymouth, but I’ve lived in other states and traveled to(and drank in) many more. Nonetheless, no matter where I travel, this place is still my favorite package store. From the outside, you would never give this place a second look. Weymouth isn’t exactly the hub of culture and sophistication, and it’s in a dumpy strip mall wedged between Shaw’s and a nail salon. Upon your first look inside, it’s certainly not that big either. The wine and liquor selections are quite detailed especially given the size of the place, and they have a good range of cheap stuff as well as tasteful selections higher end wines and spirits, but the beer is the star of this shop and what keeps me coming back. One previous reviewer«Julie» said they have little to choose from as far as premium and craft beer… which is just completely inaccurate. I will admit that the selection of cold craft 6&12 packs could be a little better, but it’s a small place. Still, If you’re into good beer(i.e. you like to try new things and you don’t mind spending a few dollars more once in a while) you could get completely lost in the middle aisle of beer for an hour or more. The variety of bottles is remarkable, and literally world-class as there are all things American, Belgian, German, you name it. For me the staff really takes the place to the next level. Most of them are quite knowledgeable and all are willing to offer their opinions if you want to try something new. However the guy with the beard is clearly the beer expert, and the guy who’s kinda bald is clearly the wine guy. They both know their stuff in those respective areas and have given me some great recommendations based on criteria I provided to them. As another reviewer pointed out… ridiculously eclectic music selection. I kinda dig it though, and I think it contributes to the fact that the employees are pretty content to be there. Overall, small place that packs a great punch in variety in beer, wine and liquor. Easily in the top 10% and maybe even top 5% of places to buy beer anywhere. Strong statement but I stand by it. An absolute gem, especially for Weymouth.

This place looks like your ordinary, average liquor store(and it is located in a shopping center that has seen its better days), but they have quite a good selection of wines here. Lots to choose from whether you are looking for a red or a white. The beer selection isn’t bad, either, though I remember it being a little better in the past. And they have plenty of hard stuff as well, if that’s what you’re looking for. On a side note, depending on who is working there that day or night, the music can be quite interesting as well. I’ve heard speedmetal, rap, soul, etc. cranking on the speakers in the past. Nothing like hearing a little Megadeath while shopping for beer!
