PetSmart

This is the place where I get my fish, fish food, hamster food, bedding, and hamster, Rhino. It’s not too far of a drive but the first time I went there I took the wrong turn even though the gps was right there!
It’s a relatively big place. I go in from time to time to check out on the animals. The fish look pretty healthy, and the other furry animals look good too. When I first got my hamster he was pretty scared about it but he eventually warmed up. One thing I forgot to check was if there was any scars on my hamster and there’s this spot my hamster picks at but I’m not sure what it is. It’s not ticks or fleas but the place feels as if it was wounded and it scabbed over. No big deal, I’ll take good care of my little hamster now.
I usually get the guppies and breed them myself to see what kind of designs their tails would be from crossing two parents’.
The service is good. The staff is friendly and they help me whenever I ask a question about the animals or for where something is.

It’s not great, not new, or very friendly. But it’s here, so it’s better than nothing.
This Petsmart is very old, non modernized and somewhat annoying.
Its not the modernized look of any of my 3 local Petsmart stores, and is not nearly as friendly (hint hint staff) or efficient.
I will say its large, carries a great array of pet materials, meaning that for basically ANY pet, it will have food, toys, and other accessories, and is not dirty like Petco in Avon.
But overall, there really isn’t much to say. It’s an average place to buy pet food, toys and get grooming or training done, with a Pet Hospital. Not anything to write home about. Just average

I took my dog here several times… the last timE I was so angry with the groomer that I refuse to take my pet back to this particular groomer… I watched her from the car brush my dog as if she was brushing a matted beast… My dog was not matted and she said he was nipping her and she had a collor on him… she finally said she could not do him any more… he is 8 lbs and he gets groomed monthly and he was not matted at all… I will use them again… but not that groomer!

The service here is hit or miss when shopping for pet fish. Sometimes they’ll be waiting there, maybe doing some maintenance on the fish tanks and sometimes you would have to hunt the employees down for help. Best way to get service is probably go to the front cashier and ask for help.
I mainly come here to shop for fish or aquarium needs. They have a decent selection and the price is fair compared to smaller fish shops. I only wish they had better selection on fish since there’s not much rare species that they put in stock. Maybe some Jardini’s or some red tail catfish or maybe some peacock bass would be nice.

I have brought my two dogs to be groomed here forever. I brought them today and upon pick up I was told they weren’t having it and that they couldn’t do their nails, ears or blow dry them but they still charged me the full amount. Then upon leaving the groomers had the manager tell me my dogs were no longer allowed there because they were too difficult. So I had to leave with two soaked dogs and 100 dollars down the drain. Never again will I recommend them !!

I have been going to Petsmart for 4 years now. I love Amy, she is so awesome. Recently the salon switched to nail cut/​grinding on the week days only. It has been inconvenient, but I try to make it work. My dog needs frequent nail grindings, so I do what I can. The grooming salon hours are until 9:00pm on the weekdays. Imagine going on at 8:30 on a Monday night, in the rain, and finding the salon closed early. Seriously! So I can’t go on the weekend and guess you have to hope they are open in the weekdays. Yet another change that Petsmart has done that is not going well. Huge bummer. I have sent many of my friends here.

I have never used this groomer and never will. As I was standing in line waiting to pay for dog food, I could see a woman with a name tag Rachel aggressively brushing a little dog. The dog looked about 12 pounds and was shaking with tail between its legs. She was using a slicker brush (metal bristles) so hard I got a knot in my stomach and am literally shaking as I write this. It was really disturbing to see. I did speak to the manager but feel the public should know.

A visit here yesterday evening was great, took my son who is 8 to buy his first lizard, a young store employee helped us, was so knowledgable and friendly, a vessel of information and walked us through everything we needed to know a out owning out first reptile,

Do not bring your dog here to be groomed! I think that the young ladies that work there forget there are windows so we can see their every move. I dropped my dog off for a full grooming. I arrived early as they suggested and my dog was not ready so I had to wait. I proceeded to watch them be very rough with my dog as well as another dog being groomed. When I was told that my dog was ready, they had only washed her and given her a slight trim. I was told that they couldn’t give her a full cut because she was nervous. My dog has been groomed before with no issues when I brought her to a professional. I understand that it was Easter weekend but the girls were not interested in doing their jobs, just cutting corners to get out early. Don’t take clients if you can’t handle the volume.
To top it all off, I was charged for a full grooming even though that isn’t what I received. I was offered a rebate but that took a long time too.
Save yourself the aggravation and abuse to your pet. Go to a professional, not these clowns passing themselves off as caring groomers!

Avoid the groomers here. I brought my 5 year old yorkie/​shih tzu mix here when we moved to the area. I know exactly what I want done to him down which attachment to use on the razor. When I told them what I wanted they said «that won’t take any hair off»…but it actually shaves him very short everywhere else. I told them I wanted it very short. When I come back to get him, there’s barely anything taken off. I gave them exact instructions that I’ve written down from past groomers and they just couldn’t do it. I also watched them let a lab puppy jump all over him and even bite him as they waited for me to pay. They didn’t do anything to stop it. When we got home I saw him scratching at his ears… i look and he has cuts all over his ears and neck from the razor! My poor little guy was bleeding! He’s 5 years old so I’ve been doing this for awhile and have never been so appauled!

One night, my husband and I were *those* customers … you know, the ones that come in 10 minutes before closing time with 100 million questions. In the process of adopting a dog, we needed to get a dog crate and mat sooner rather than later. We stopped in and the staff were fantastic with answering all our questions rather than trying to shoo us out the door. All in all, we were there for about 20 minutes after closing time. We got a crate, a mat, and various dog toys and we were very pleased.
A few days later, I stopped back in to purchase more items for the dog. Once again, the sales staff were really friendly and helped me pick out collars and leashes based on my dog’s size. The kept reminding me of the return policy so even though I bought a lot of stuff, half of it went back with no problem.
One cool thing is that they can engrave dog tags on the spot for you. How awesome is that?!

Still 5 stars! Just adding in that Michelle the trainer there is awesome. We have done puppy class and private training with her. She has helped us so much with our puppy Finnegan and always has useful tips and tricks!

Great folks in here. Everyone is very knowledgeable and you can tell that it’s not just a job to them… they’re all pet lovers.
Stock and selection is great. Prices are average. I’d be tempted to give them 5 stars if it weren’t for the occasional doggie dookie or yellow puddle in the aisles from an irresponsible owner who didn’t clean up after their fur baby. Granted, I’ve only seen that a couple of times over dozens of visits; and it’s more about those owners than the store; but still disgusting.

I am a new puppy owner and came here without a clue on what to do or buy for my 6 week old pup. The employees were so helpful and patient with me. Took me around to grab all the essentials. Prices were very reasonable compared to other pet stores. Will definitely be back.

The grooming center is fantastic. All of the girls are so professional and sweet. They always try to accommodate as best they can, even if it is a busy weekend. My dog is pretty skittish, and he always feels right at home there. I can’t say enough good things about the girls who work there!

This is a great PetSmart! It’s really easy to get to and has tons of parking! I always buy Wellness dogfood and it’s always stocked here well!
I see lots of problems with the staff here. But, I’ve never encountered any problemes here at all with the staff. They’ve always been very helpful!

If I wrote 2 reviews one would be 1 star and the other 4 to 5 stars.
The high rating is for the service of the more mature employees in the retail area who are generally very nice and helpful. I like the selection of foods and products that they offer, so I go there a lot. Also, I have been very pleased with Banfield Veterinary services, especially the doctor who runs it. We are very happy with the adoption service, as we have adopted a kitty from there and found them to express an appropriate amount of concern in making sure that he was going to a good home without being overly intrusive.
The low rating is for the grooming department and the younger employees in the retail area, who sometime seem to try to avoid serving customers while being involved in conversations with their counterparts. I have to buy live food regularly for two of our pets and this can be irritating.
The grooming service, I will never use again. We had been bringing our the puppy there for about 6 months and always made the appointment to have her groomed by the grooming manager. We liked her work and always wanted her to do the grooming, as the dog is not a fan of grooming and she was good with her. Whatever happened, I do not know for sure, but I assume she passed our pup off on an inexperienced groomer. What I do know is that the pup had been nicked roughly 10 times in places which the next groomer that we used, felt had shown extreme carelessness (folds of skin on the backside of of limbs are sometimes nicked even when being relatively careful, but multiple nicks on the chest and the front of limbs are a sign of carelessness) or someone with very little experience. Needless to say, it was a couple of groomings with our new and very gentle groomer before our dog got over her fear of grooming.
I should have gone back and complained for the sake of future customers or should I say, victims, but I was too angry to go there for a while and honestly by the time I cooled off, for all I knew, whoever did it may not have still been working there. What I do know is that I would never go back there for grooming or trust my dog to their grooming manager again. This happened years ago, but as of this writing, the same person is in charge.

Too bad the retail store staff hasn’t learned about customer service and that the customer is always right.
I spent ½ hr w/​3 different people, who provided me with widely different advice concerning the proper leash for our dog, and how to put it on (one person insisted her brood needed to wear it upside down for the proper fit; another insisted the co says no to switching it around). Needless to say, I left confused and empty-​handed.

They shaved my puppy bald
I took my wheaten puppy here for a grooming as I had recieved a coupon via banfield
Shortly after dropping him off they called me to say his chin and belly were extremely matted and they would need to go shorter than they anticipated
A few hours later they called me to pick him up
When we got there he had been shaved bald everything shaved except his tail
He had not been bathed as he he still smelled basically they just shaved all his hair off didn’t bother to wash him and sent him back
I am beyond furious and would never go again

I take my dog to Banfield Pet Hospital and the groomers at Petsmart.
Banfield’s Wellness plans helps with the 2x a year visits and his dental cleaning which can be really costly without the plan. My dog always comes out with pearly whites and fresh breath.
My dog is a fussy little guy so it’s nice to have groomers who can deal with him. (I tip more to make up for this!) And, they were very professional. I haven’t had any scrapes or cuts on him that I’ve had with other pet groomers.
