My father in law got to choose the place since it was Father’s day. The first choice was a new place in Brandon, but it, being Portillo’s, was BUSY, so we opted for a place to get Phó, and it wasn’t busy at all. Phở Viet, was nice, and we were seated quickly our drink orders taken right away, by 2 different waiters. Once we looked over the menu, we placed orders for starters, the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce and edamame. While we waited, because it wasn’t crowded, I heard their microwave go off twice. Yep, microwave. That made me sad. I know they’re used but it also tells me that something isn’t quite fresh. When the apps were delivered, the spring rolls were large, but to me the peanut sauce was VERY peanut butter-y and almost fermented, it really didn’t taste right. The edamame… well they were most certainly what was being microwaved. the salting on them was uneven and some were cold. Our meals were decent, the husband got the hot/spicy Phở, and my father got the combo bowl. Me i got the grilled vermicelli bowl, with pork and grilled shrimp. For the husbeast he found that it had too much oil in it and later suffered gastric distress because of it. The father in law ate every bite. Me? I found that the grilled pork was quite dry and tasteless, but the grilled shrimp was tasty. It was ok, but I don’t know that I’d come back.

When I am craving Phở, this is the closest choice for me. The service has improved and the phở is always pretty good. Only once I was wary of the kitchen crew but I went back one more time and am convinced that was a one time occurrence. In the Brandon area, I think this is the best choice for Vietnamese dining.

Love this place ! Their food is amazing and you leave very satisfied. I’ve been coming here ever since I moved and I can say it has become my favorite spot for phở

Service wasn’t extraordinary or underserved, but that was their best category. Basically, if you want lukewarm phở with NO cilantro, go here. If you are accustomed to having teriyaki fried chicken wings, be sure to ask if they even have teriyaki flavoring BEFORE ordering, or you’ll not find out until they bring out the lukewarm phở. Oh, and don’t forget to have your lemonade topped up with tap water. The highlight of my visit. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

It’s all about the bun. The phở is good. But I always get the bun with pork and spring roll. The restaurant is outdated, no atmosphere. If I’m in the area, I get it to go. Huge portion.

The phở here is incredible. Large portions with plenty of options. As most other reviews have pointed out, the service is lacking. You definitely have to make a point of getting a server’s attention to get anything. The food is worth it though.

I always eat the Bun Bo Hue with the vermicelli noodles and the fried tofu and its absolutely tasty :) The price for the normal bowl of soup(which is really enough) is absolutely fair and the waiters a totally friendly :) The restaurant is an old Pizza Hut branch but everything is very clean also the restrooms. They bring the food very fast and fresh and they have super fresh sprouts and vegetables :)

Very delicious spicy beef soup and beef stew soup! But the size of spring roll is too small!

3 stars for very friendly, fast service and awesome eggrolls. I came here craving a big bowl of noodle soup on a cold Saturday afternoon. The staff greeted us immediately with a smile which is always a great start. The menu was much larger then I expected. It is 2 sided, with one side of it being mostly Phở and the appetizers but there are also many other choices on the back such as fried rice and grilled dishes. As first timers here, we took a while to review the menu but the waiter was very patient with us and answered all of our questions. I ordered eggrolls and the Northern style chicken Phở as the waiter told us, «northern is better». The eggrolls were small but very tasty. I wish now I had just ordered a bunch of those! The regular sized phở came out piping hot in a very large bowl. In my opinion it is just ok. The rice noodles were good and chewy but the broth had a strong unexpected flavor, maybe ginger or nutmeg, other than that it was a little bland and needed some additions of salt, pepper, hot sauce etc. Because of the great service and yummy eggrolls, I will come back to try something else on the menu.

We were really looking forward to a steaming bowl of soup . We ordered the fried calamari, steamed dumplings and 2 pork sausage spring rolls . We ordered shrimp egg rolls too but got a fried shrimp appetizer by mistake. We we’re having a late lunch so the plan was to take home the leftovers for a snack . The dumplings and the calamari were pretty good but the dumplings could have used a lot more meat filling ! We each ordered the Northern Vietnam seafood soup and we all agreed it was bland and had too many sweet onions in it but the size & amount of the shrimp was great . The restaurant needs cleaning especially the walls at the table . My daughter remarked when we left that the bathroom was horrendous — I don’t think we will be back ! $ 75.00 plus tip Bathrooms make it or break it for our family !!! Bleach is cheap people:)

We were stop here before the the Unilocal CMYE. Since the CYME will only have snack and we decided to eat here. There is a lot customer in and out here I hope it will be good. Unfortunately, there is no fireworks for this phở place. I order the Phở Viet Northern Combination. The server brought out the soup but he insists the soup is not our table while we should be the next group to get the noodle soup. He could not find the order is belong to us and he set our soup noodle in the empty table. The manager then verified and brought the soup at our table. Very confusing. By this time our rare beef in the soup is cook through. The soup is in the sweet side. The shrimp is fresh and bouncy. Because they are not located in the phở hub, they have no competition. They can survive the business because far away from the hub. It would not be able to survive if it is located at the Dale Mabry or Pinellas Phở hub. The soup is average. Not the top notch. I could have given them two star because they mixed up the order.

Ah, the dreaded three star review. I said it before, and I’ll say it again, a three star review is the hardest to write. There’s no excitement, good or bad. Where’s the motivation? This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and value. The food was good, not great, but I would eat here again. The service was okay. The restaurant was of average cleanliness. The building, which looks like a Pizza Hut, is old and could use a remodel, but they’ve done pretty good with what they have. The atmosphere was run-of-the-mill for a Vietnamese restaurant. The menu has the same items found in just about every ordinary Vietnamese restaurant in America. The prices hit on the median of the scale. Not super cheap, but not expensive either. Overall, nothing exciting to write about, and nothing exciting to rush me back. I’ll go if I’m driving by and have a hankering for some phở. It’s «A-OK».

I’m new to the area and have been wanting to try a Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the egg rolls, Banh Xeo, and Phở. The wait staff was very nice and the food came out pretty fast. The Egg rolls were your typical Phở but came with a fish sauce to dip instead of a sweet chili sauce like most places. The Banh Xeo was a welcomed surprise. Most Vietnamese restaurants won’t have it on their menu so I always try when I find one that does. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can really taste the coconut milk but the pork was a little tough. The Phở was pretty good and I’ve had Phở all my life. The broth was pretty flavorful. It wasn’t the best I’ve had of the worse, definitely would kill my craving for ho when I have it. Overall a great experience.

I was not impressed with the phở I tried. I ordered the basic P1 Phở Viet Special Northern Combination that comes with rare steak, brisket, flank, tendon, tripe and beef meat balls for $ 8.50. They also offer a larger size for $ 10.50. The broth was just ok, and all the meats were bland except for the meat balls. Those meat balls were my favorite part of the soup. Half of the rice noodles were stuck together. The Thai ice tea was good for $ 2.50. The service was nice and friendly. I would come back to try their other dishes.

My first experience here was on a casual Sunday evening. This looks like it used to be an old Pizza Hut by the shape of the building. It still has that signature roof. The interior, however, has been redone to match the type of restaurant going in. The restroom needs a bit of renovation though. Because it wasn’t too crowded on the night that we went, the wait for the food didn’t take very long. Waitstaff is very cordial and friendly. The food here is pretty good. They have a very interesting selection of Vietnamese cuisine. They have northern Vietnamese and southern Vietnamese food on the menu. I never noticed that there was a difference so I learned something new that night. I ended up getting a vermicelli rice bowl with very fresh vegetables/herbs, grilled beef, grilled pork, and grilled shrimp. It was so good! All the flavors just go together very well. All the meet was just very well marinated. The table automatically comes well-stocked with chopsticks and condiments. I know I’m a little late in going here as this restaurant has been here for possibly a few years. Now I’m glad I have gone here at least once and will consider coming here many times again the next time I’m craving Vietnamese food in Brandon, Florida.

Hidden gem in Brandon. We go to act of Vietnamese restaurants, and I have to say they do a pretty good job on flavors. Fresh spring roll tasted like they just rolled it. Phở broth had amazing depth in flavor. Seeing the other items come out of the kitchens makes us want to come back to try other menu items.

Good place for phở, a tad bit on the expensive side for phở soup but hey as long as it is good. We ordered a wanton soup regular size and tofu phở also regular size. Both were very good and was good size for one person. They also serve boba tea in the restaurant which i recommend. Overall good experience here, staff was friendly and was able to ask questions if you are new to phở.

Generous portions, tasty Phở, and perfectly cooked deep-fried tofu. This was my first visit here, but I’ll definitely be back. Easy to find since their sign is huge and noticeable from the street. Once inside this converted Pizza Hut, we were immediately seated at a clean booth. Restaurant was about half full on this Friday at noon, but people came in nonstop. Initial service was a bit slow, as we decided what we wanted quickly, and then had to wait for a server to take our order, but once the order was given he was on the ball. Food came out very quickly, and our appetizer of fried tofu served with chili sauce was excellent. Firm on the outside, soft on the inside. The chicken phở was a huge portion with a flavorful broth, plenty of chicken, and tons of noodles. We did go through most of the small side plate of Thai basil and bean sprouts we were given to share, but the server did offer to bring more. A good experience, and a perfect place to fill my phở craving in Brandon.

OoooEmmmGeeee, I absolutely loved my meal. I had the chicken Phở with vegetables and the Jasmine Tea and it was so delicious. The people that work there were very nice and very attentive as well. One of the guys that was serving didn’t know about Unilocal so I explained what it was and he was very curious to know what comments were being said… I hope he reads this because he was awesome, especially with the passion mark on his neck he tried to hide… lol yep I saw it… lol Overall, this is a very clean and delicious place to eat.

Phở Viet is a small Vietnamese restaurant that is located in a remodeled Pizza Hut. The decoration is minimal but the food quality makes up for the lack of ambiance. The staff working here is very friendly, efficient, and attentive. We started with the fried tofu and the veggie rolls(Gôi Cuón Chay). Both appetizers were very good. For my entrée, I ordered the Superbowl of Phở Dac Biet, the combination beef noodle soup. This massive bowl was chock full of meatballs, sliced beef, brisket, tendon, and tripe. It was delicious. The broth needed a little salt, but then again, I am a saltaholic. The Superbowl was so large that I had leftover phở for days! My friend order the Phở Ga, the chicken phở and she enjoyed her food, as well. If you don’t mind a minimally decorated remodeled Pizza Hut that serves delicious no-frills Vietnamese cuisine, this is definitely the place for you. The food is good and is worth the stop.
