#296 We found this produce/farm stand while looking for a pumpkin. All the others wanted crazy prices for them, here it was half of what the others wanted. Lots of fresh veggies and produce, reasonbly priced, really nice people. A little hard to find but worth it.

Pat’s, at the intersection of King’s and Bloomingdale Avenue, is a South Brandon, North Riverview, Bloomingdale anachronism of the days when B’dale was one lane in each direction flanked by trailer parks, orange groves and cow pastures. As far as produce stands go, they are fair to midland in selection, quality and price — though they do have a fairly good selection of locally produced honey and preserves(jams and jelly) mostly from Plant City. What sets Pat’s apart are the strawberry shakes made by hand with honest-to-goodness real ingredients and their home made salsa made in small batches. If you crave REAL salsa made with REAL ingredients you owe it to yourself to visit Pat’s. Do note that they do take credit cards but only with a minimum $ 10 purchase.

I love this place! It’s a short distance from my apartment so I stop by fairly often. Pros: Customer service Decent selection of in season fruits and veggies Honey! Fresh herbs-basil, parsley, etc. Eggs and cheese(I was surprised) Land there’s a lady that makes desserts that are delicious(milkshakes and banana nut bread are delish!) Cons: Limited variety being a smaller stand Every time I’ve purchased their homemade salsa it’s been terrible! All in all, I’d recommend stopping by :)

A cute produce stand with local fruits and veggies. It’s tiny so don’t expect a huge selection. Everyone we met there was friendly. Bought some tasty Plant City strawberries and tomatoes and sat on the cute rocking chair set up and had a shaved ice. Next time will try some strawberry shortcake. Glad this spot is in the neighborhood.

I was not really impressed but not really shocked at the inventory and the price. They have what every other fruit stand has the prices are a little high and the owner was not overly friendly but not rude either. What we stop in for is for my hubby’s craving of boiled peanuts. He enjoys the taste, price and«doneness»(he says that they are soft and full cooked and that its hard to find boiled peanuts cooked to this perfection).
