Courteous service, and some of the best tandoori chicken and chicken tikka to be had in the sunshine state. If you like authentic West Indian cuisine, Taste of India is where you want to have it. Even the décor makes one feel closer to New Delhi. Highly recommended!

The service is extremely slow… I mean really extremely slow. The food is pretty good from the naan to the main courses. The staff is friendly enough though they are not attentive, if you flag them down they’ll be helpful but I should not have to beg for a drink refill. I have not tried the other Indian restaurants within walking distance so I can’t recommend a better place nearby. It’s a shame the service has gone to hell, I have been going here for 6 – 7 years and it used to be top notch all the way around. I had a bad experience several years ago and stayed away, only going back tonight. Is hoped for a change, based on recent reviews I was not expecting it though. My advice would be to order take out.

Really bad experience with customer service. No welcoming approach from staff. Food took forever. And when reminded a waiter about the order he did not even care to stop by at table and apologize for delay or anything. Very lazy staff Owner was present there still he also lacked talking to his staff and made sure customers are happy with the service. Very disappointed Would not recommend at all if someone is looking to enjoy good food with great customer service. This is not a place worth for the money you pay

The food was fantastic!!! We were very surprised. I had the fish F-6, not sure what is was but it was amazing and spicier than anticipated however the flavors were full and rich. We also ordered chicken dish, maybe a madras. We’re unfamiliar with the terms C-8 in menu. Very tasty. Service friendly. Food came quickly. Can’t wait to come back!

Closed randomly on a Tuesday at 8pm. Big van parked in front of the door. Is this location shut down?

Fist timer. Nice and clean. Good Indian food that’s worth a taste. Only negative was the service. They were slammed and apparently understaffed. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. Total time from start to finish 1hr and 40 minutes. I will definitely be back but only when I have a couple hours to spare.

We ordered a to go order… The lady who took our order was very helpful and knew her dishes unlike other Indian restaurants that I’ve ordered from she could speak English. We ordered the butter chicken and palak paneer. The restaurant is a bit over priced probably by about $ 3 per dish. The paneer was $ 13.95 and the butter chicken was $ 14.95. Both dishes came with rice and we ordered butter Nan’s on the side. The food was ready when I got there which is a lot better then other Indian restaurants in Tampa. The ambience of the restaurant was nice however I believe they looked like they were short staffed. The butter chicken was the best I’ve had so far in Tampa but the palak paneer was tasteless. Either way we were happy that we found an Indian restaurant next to us. Definitely worth a visit.

This is my fiancé and my go to Indian restaurant. We like to do the buffet on Saturday, which is $ 9 I think. I am a vegetarian and most of their dishes are vegetarian with a few meat dishes. Yummy flavor and most of the dishes seem to rotate between weeks.

It was ok. Nothing extraordinary. I was expecting more because of all the rave reviews. Some of the signage is cute inside the restaurant. But in the end my meal was a little underwhelming. Not bad. Not great.

Decent Indian Food. I give this place 3 stars because it has all the«Check box» items for an Indian restaurant; spicy food, good taste, decent ambiance but it lacks authenticity. The food feels very synthetic which makes you feel heavy for a day or so after. But that’s typical of most large indian restaurants. Parking is good, its kid friendly. Wait staff, I would rate a 4⁄10. They do the job but are neither too friendly and knowledgeable or too little.

Great food– Best Indian food in Brandon. Let me start out by saying the food is like a party in your mouth. Great authentic flavor, not that blend food/watered down food like most restaurants. I was hooked from day one on this place. My favorites are the garlic naan and chicken tikka Marsala. My only compliant would be since the food is so good the wait may be long. However the food is well worth the wait. I heard they have lunch buffet but I’ve never tried it. Overall a great place to dine

Great food — best in the area. Taste of India catered my vegan party last week and made all dishes cruelty free. My guests kept raving about the food… it was a hit. No complaints about the food. I gave only 4 stars because they were late in having our food ready… by 2 hours! The don’t deliver so we had family go pick it up and because of their delay, some of my family got to the party late. I have heard they are known for this so we gave them an earlier time but were still let down. Respect for others time is important. This was a pretty big let down that one should keep in mind when ordering from them. I would negotiate a 20% discount if food is not ready on time. Might be the only way to change things.

I’ve been here at least 15 times in the last 2 years, definitely my favorite restaurant in Brandon. The location is convenient, décor is cool, and the food is excellent. Not only have I never had a bad meal here, I’ve never had ANY dish here that wasn’t outstanding. Personal favorites are the Paneer Kulcha, Chicken Tikka Masala, Meen Molee and Lamb Vindaloo. I tried the Phall curry once just to say I had given it a shot. Unbelievably spicy! I’ve had chicken tikka masala at quite a few places and cook it at home at least once a week. This place has the best CTM I’ve ever had, which presents a dilemma: At a restaurant such as this where everything is great I always want to try something new, but I can’t resist ordering the tikka masala every time. Side note: NOTHING is better reheated in the microwave a day or two later than these leftovers.

The food? Excellent. I don’t know if I love Indian food or THIS Indian food, but it is truly delicious. The complexity of flavors and the variety of options are exciting. I like trying something new every time, and so far I’ve tried and enjoyed the samosas, the mulligatawny soup, the garlic naan, the chicken korma, the coconut rice, and the gulab jamun. The portions are good, the price is reasonable for what you get, and it warms up well as a leftover. The service? I’ve always had good service here, and they have always been polite and helpful. The ambiance? The outside of the building doesn’t look like much. I do like the decorations when you first walk into the restaurant, but the dining area leaves something to be desired. It feels a like an old and dark room and the tables and benches feel a little flimsy and rickety. The thing is, I don’t keep coming back for the furniture, I come back for the food. I highly recommend this restaurant for a large variety of reliably good Indian food. If you haven’t tried Indian food, but you aren’t afraid of spicy food(spicy meaning full of spices, not spicy meaning tongue on fire), then try a Taste of India. Of course, if you do want your mouth to burn with the fire of a thousand suns, they have those options too.

Let me just start off by saying, the customer service was on point. The staff went out of their way to have the table set up and ready for our arrival before sitting down. They were also patient enough to deal with me and my indecisive friends throughout the course of our meal, and gave out good recommendations. Our group ordered plenty, and we began with the vegetable samosas, and my personal favorite drink; mango lassi. I didn’t try the vegetable samosas but I asked how they were, and my party said the texture was lacking a bit. The mango lassi on the other hand was more interesting than others I’ve had in the past because, it contained actual cubes of ice, and I believe to be small pieces saffron? Tart, sweet, and refreshing. From there we ordered a goat rice, butter chicken, garlic naan bread, and coconut mango shrimp curry. Wow! These dishes were all equally awesome! Plus we each had so much leftover for The next day, because our meals were so filling. Great work taste of india! I’ll be back to try your chicken tikka!

The first time I went to an Indian restaurant in South Florida, the food was not so great so I made the conclusion that I didn’t like Indian food much. But I’m so glad I visited Taste of India because it definitely changed my mind. Their food is authentic and delicious. It’s a nicely decorated restaurant with a bar. I came here with my two friends who were more familiar with the menu so they ordered the garlic naan and vegetable samosas for appetizers. For drinks, we each ordered a mango lassi. It’s my friends favorite drink, but it’s a little too sweet for me. I was between the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken but since I’m a fatty, I chose the butter chicken. mmm butter. It was creamy and dee-lish! Next time, I’ll get the chicken tikka masala because another table ordered it and it came out sizzling & smelled amazing.
