Great neighborhood market, I love stopping here everyday on my way from work. The meats are always fresh and reasonably priced.

This is a great local market. Prepared foods are delicious, good deli counter. Only wish they had a real butcher who knew meat and had more selection. Otherwise staff is friendly and very efficient at check out.

It’s really a traditional corner market with a great deli. The staff is helpful and friendly, always nice– they know your name and what you do and do like. I do my daily shopping here on the way home from work. Occasionally, I’ll get a tuna sub or one of the vegetarian option soups from the deli too. They have eliminated the need for me to go out of my way to a large supermarket more than once every couple of weeks.

I totally agree with K.M.(above). I have to add that the deli is fantastic too! You have to try their store-baked deli meats… the best! Oh, and don’t forget to pick up some sandwich rolls, they’re baked in-store too!

It’s a corner store not a supermarket. You can’t expect the same things. It has an excellent deli and a decent selection of staple products. We often go there wheb we are downtown and need milk or something. Other stuff we really like there: The fresh bagels The cookies The pirogues The spices No idea what people are talking about when they say they staff is rude. They are perfectly polite.

I have to agree with most of the other comments here regarding Caron’s. It’s a convenience more than a place to shop regularly, even though I do try to support local businesses. The selection of products is necessarily small, as is the store, but I think better choices can be made as to what is offered. The fresh produce section is usually anything but fresh. The deli section is a bit pricey but very good in terms of quality. The real failing of Caron’s is with the service. You get the feeling that customers are an annoyance that they have to put up with in order to get your money. Once I ordered a large soup at the deli counter, The server literally tilted and scraped the bottom of the soup pot and filled barely 2⁄3 of the container of soup, yet wanted to charge me full price for a large serving. When I suggested that I be charged for a smaller portion, I was given a dirty look as though I was asking for the moon. That kind of attitude keeps me from shopping there more often.

Very kind and helpful staff, great deli, home made ham as good as in France, great variety of products, produce and meats at very reasonable prices. Sure, it is a local and smaller store, but I am all for supporting local businesses rather than big chain stores.

I shop here quite frequently, mostly for convenience. I have to agree with other reviews, the customer service is lacking, especially in the deli department — most act like it’s a chore to wait on you. I have had some good customer service experiences, but they are few. I have noticed the cashiers have been nicer lately(maybe they are reading the reviews too!) I haven’t had any issues with produce, other than it is a very small selection. The prepared food is always good — I can recommend the veggie lasagna, manicotti and especially the bread pudding — THEBEST! I have even noticed Bishops and The Meat Market sell this bread pudding. I am under the impression it is made at Caron’s Corner — but I don’t know for sure. Yes their selection isn’t the best, but really — do we need 200 salad dressings to choose from? I love to support locally owned businesses and this is one that I will continue to support.

Was just in today. Don’t shop here often and I know why. The place is extremely dirty for one and no one has any customer service at all. Next time you go to Caron’s look at the signs at the register. «if you have a large order don’t pay with coins» «Don’t be on your cell phone», «We don’t take orders less then a ¼ of a LB for cold cuts, because the plastic bag cost money». Then look at the time clock are. There are a bunch signs here as well. all negative towards the employees. Now I know why they don’t smile or want to help. Well listen up Caron’s owner you are in the wrong business. Your food is less then good, service sucks and your store is dirty. As I look at other posting here I am not far off. I guess you don’t like feed back. I hope you go out of business. I know you have been around a while but NEVERTAKEYOURCUSTOMERSFORGRANTED!!! You will loose in the end some day.

Just got home with my rotten celery = should have checked in the store a little better. Been burned before. I’ve actually called over people in the past and recommended that they toss the zucchini, peppers, etc.

Caron’s is great for everything EXCEPT fresh produce. On several occasions I’ve purchased veggies there to find that they were very close to rotten, rotten or begin spoiling within 12 hours of purchase. I only buy veggies there if I need something fast. In spite of this it’s still great and the people who work there are lovely.

They have a very good deli counter in the back. All their sub sandwiches are great. Their prepared foods aren’t bad either. And lately I’ve been on a kick to pick up their cannoli’s.They’re surprisingly very good. I recommend getting the chocolate coated ones because the uncoated ones are a little soggy. $ 2.99 for two are a bargain. See photo. Only in New Haven county can you find good cannoli’s at some no name corner market. Other than that, I really don’t have a reason to get much anything else. I might pick up towel paper or some bare essentials if I need them, but prices are slighter higher than a supermarket. That’s to be expected. Most of the girls at the cash register are super cute and friendly. So for guys, that might be reason enought to try this place. This food mart serves the local community well. Mostly it’s people traveling back and forth from Pine Orchards and Indian Neck.

Not the highest quality market, but they have a large gluten-free section, several palatable quiches and puddings, and a decent but tiny selection of produce.

I really like this place. It’s small and quaint. It’s clean and well organized. It carries fresh produce and meat. A little more pricey than I’d like, but what can I say? I like cheap quality food. But if I can’t get cheap but I can get quality, then I’m still satisfied.
