Way too short. Not remotely what I asked for. Morgan needs to listen to what the client wants. This haircut will probably be good in 6 months when it grows out. I asked for a stacked a line bob showing exactly where I wanted the longest piece in the front and how short I wanted it in the back. NO LAYERS! and came out with my grandmas mushroom cut from the 80’s. I wasted $ 48.00. :(and an additional $ 10 for barrettes to hide this mess! Unbelievable. Instead of pushing product listen to what your client wants. And owner Janelle is absolutely no help and extremely unprofessional! She will not give me a refund and says she stands by her work! Hmm? You gave men crew cuts all morning while I was there. You stand by chopping someone’s hair and not giving them what they want. Would not recommend. This is a barber shop one would find in the military not a salon !

As a birthday gift to myself I purchased a living social deal for a pedicure. It was exactly what I needed. The establishment was relaxing, the staff were friendly and warm and they even gave me wine! It was an excellent experience and I will definitely be going back.

I love this salon; Dana is awesome. Not only are the prices reasonable, but there is no arrogant attitudes that I’ve experienced at a few other salons. I had to cancel last minute on a Friday; Dana was so accomodating, going above and beyond what most stylists would do — she stayed late the next day to do my cut and color because it was my anniversary. I love the professional yet laid back vibe and couldn’t be happier with the results. Just love this place!!!

Dana is my stylist, and she’s great. Super sweet, very accommodating, and I always leave happy. Janelle, the woman who owns this great little spot, is super sweet and and not only is she a very knowledgable stylist and colorist, she also does manicures and pedicures in her little spot. Janelle will most likely be the one who calls you back after you leave a message inquiring about an appointment, she always returns phone calls promptly and will work to get you an appointment as soon as they can get you in.
Their hours are a bit funky, not the typical salon hours that I’m used to, and that makes it tough for me to get appointments during their regular hours. The great thing about this salon is that they are willing to work with you, even if it means they have to come in early or leave later than they might normally want to.
Dana always comes in early to help me out, since they typically don’t open until 2 and my work day starts at 1 and ends at 9pm– and I’m done and looking great in time for my workday to start.
They are awesome! If you like small, friendly, comfortable and personal salons then I highly recommend J Renee if you’re anywhere near the Branford area (although they are definitely worth a drive even if you’re not!).

This is a great place to get your hair cut, nails done, hair styled, what ever makes you (more) beautiful.
Janelle (an owner) is my fave– but I trust anyone she would hire.
I stop in here whenever I am in town to get a trim or have them fix up my hair for a wedding or highly stylized event. It’s not because I’m fancy and it’s not because I am terrible at doing my hair (or maybe it is); it’s because it is real pleasure to pop in. Some salons make you feel like what the mean salesclerk did to Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman; but I promise that will never happen here!
This local business is the epitome of everything that is right in a small business. Great service, available owner’s, skillful stylists, affordable rates.
It’s like being in a (ground level) tree house with your most talented hair stylist friends.
My old boyfriend goes there to get his hair cut, and he has crazy brillo-​pad– permy hair– but I swear you would never know from the hair cuts he gets from here (And it also says a lot that a 20 something sporty guy feels comfortable enough to pop into a ladies salon)!
