The food was ok nothing special. Restaurant was packed so we sat at the outside patio/bar; it had a decent view. I ordered the blackened swordfish and it was pretty good. Tasty and pretty juicy.

Gave this place another chance and very disappointed. $ 28.50 for a tiny seafood platter. Mixed up with drinks. Called manager and stated that same size for seafood platter but we were there before and it was much bigger. Offered another gift certificate and declined. This place is hit or miss. Mostly miss. Every time we go it’s unfavorable and getting worse and worse. Going to another seafood place in the area. Don’t waste your time. Also we were seated in the back by the bar where another patron thought it would be a great place to change her child’s diaper in the booth behind us! Yikes!

Fun and casual spot to have a very good seafood meal. Try the Long Island Ice Tea or Land Shark with a lime.

This place for food is just plain horrific! Ordered steamers, filled with dirt not sand, dirt! Tasteless! Soft shell crab dinner was awful. Dried out crap! Fries oily crap! Coleslaw was the best thing! Way overated!

I would have loved to give them 5 stars. Lenny’s is our go-to place for good fish. But this last visit a week ago was less than stellar. The scrod was a little rubbery which was disappointing because we love the way they bake it and it’s usually so good. The service is not good though. This is about the 4th time in a row that we were seated and waited over 10 mins for someone to even come to the table. There were 4 or 5 servers standing near the hostess stand and finally the hostess came over to get us drinks. And each time, even with different servers, they rarely come back to check to see how everything is, and we have to wait and wait to order dessert or get our check.

My bf took me here for some great seafood, and Lenny’s did not disappoint. The place is eclectic and has a nice outdoor deck seating area with a bar. Unfortunately, it was too buggy out the night we went so opted to sit indoors. I must admit, I was so appalled at the prices, but all seafood is expensive nowadays.(@#!%^&*#$) I got the lobster roll which was great. About a good ½ lb of lobster meat on that butter-soaked, squishy roll. So yummy. Their fries, even I though I thought they said«house-made», surprised me because they were really lacking with no seasoning on them at all… like SALT. Flavorless, not very hot and too mushy to my liking. My bf got the fried shrimp which were so awesome! Huge and perfectly cooked! Great tartar sauce and pink lemonade as well. Super friendly & helpful waitress & host/hostess. One of thee best pieces of carrot cake I’ve had. Oh yeah… as they say…“I’ll be back”(in my Terminator voice).

I’ve been here twice. The service was good both times. However, there are no weekend lunch specials which is their right but the prices are just way too expensive for the portions. For this reason alone, I will not return.

Pretty solid CT seafood joint. They have great clear broth Rhode Island clam chowder! Standout here is Tuesday night lobster special which is well worth the $ 20 a head. Beware though it’s such a great deal it gets packed!!! Best to go before or after dinner rush. Service was great last time we visited. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to come back soon.

Went for Restaurant Week with a bunch of friends. Had the New England clam chowder to start– very tasty! Had the Shore Dinner, which wasn’t the actual Shore Dinner on their menu, but was excellent. Came with 2 cherry stone clams– raw for those of you who don’t know – I gave them to my friend only because I don’t like raw clams– my own preference. Got a 1 ¼– 1 ½ pound lobster on top of a very nice bed of steamers. I wasn’t expecting the amount of steamers that we actually got– it was a pleasant surprise. The apple crisp came for dessert– a big bowl– more than I could eat. Overall– for $ 25– a great meal. The bar was right behind us and got a little rowdy, but since we were all from Branford and knew the people, we didn’t really care. The dining room is quieter for those who don’t like the bar noise. The regular menu was a little pricy– Chowder Pot and Supreme Seafood are cheaper. Overall though– a good experience. I would go back.

Probably one of my favorite meals ever! We started with the lobster mac n cheese appetizer which was amazing! I had the hot sautéed lobster roll and thought it was the best roll I’ve ever tasted. We went during non peak hours so there was no wait. For the taste, price and ambiance I highly recommend! If ever in Connecticut it is a must visit!

I was surprised to see Lenny’s had a 3 ½ star review, it’s a raging 5 stars for me. New England seafood at its finest. I’m back north for the holidays and Lenny’s was one of the top spots I wanted to bring my man friend, who grew up land locked, to introduce him to real quality New England seafood. Everything’s super fresh and consistent, the lobster is always on point. I usually get steamers or New England clam chowder, some of the best I’ve ever had. Maybe I’m biased growing up so closed to Lenny’s but I think their seafood had raised my standards and left me the proud seafood snob of a Yankee I am. Stars and heart emojis out the ying yang for this joint.

I’ve gotta say… Lenny’s has long been a family staple. Everyone and anyone from Branford and the surrounding area comes to Lenny’s for casual seafood dining. But I’m starting to overthink the love affair for Lenny’s. The food, the ambience, the service, it’s all just… meh. I came today with family and we were less than impressed all around. We were seated by a LESS than happy hostess. I ordered the New England clam chowder and calamari appetizer. The chowder was way over-peppered and too rich to be enjoyable. The breading on the calamari was also overly rich. It practically left a pool of grease on my plate. I couldn’t even finish the appetizer portion because it was sickeningly fatty and simply not fresh. I understand people come to Lenny’s for the laid back, beachy atmosphere but I don’t understand why they stay(and come back) for the food. If you insist on coming, I’d recommend going on a summer evening and sitting outside for the life music and brews on the deck. Otherwise, you’re better off going to the Guilford Moorings which is less pricey and better quality.

I had high hopes. Read a lot of great reviews. And let me just say, it was not bad. It was good. Not great. I ordered the hot Lobster Roll. The portion of lobster was acceptable for a $ 22 sandwich. And I’m not at all complaining about price. It’s lobster. It was lobster on a piece of bread with a side of butter. Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with those ingredients. So, like I said, it was good. But lacked anything special to set it apart — taste wise. The service was good. It’s a cool place for sure with lots of history and locals. I didn’t like being told«we can’t do that» when I tried to order just 2 raw oysters. I know, who does that? I do. And I have a reason that isn’t important. They had them on the menu for half dozen. I get it. But last time I checked you don’t harvest them by the half dozen. How hard would it have been to shuck 2 and sell them to me?

Lenny’s is everything a New England seafood restaurant should be and more! Good portions of the freshest ocean’s local bounty. For the landlubbers, plenty of great options too including wings and sandwiches. When the homemade hash is on the specials menu, don’t miss it. The margaritas are made fresh with RIPE Bar Juice from New Haven. The beer list is a nice mix of the locals and classics. Even with the outdoor patio in the summer, I love it in the winter too for a warm up with the best Rhode Island chowder in the Nutmeg State.

Yum. We were looking for fried seafood and fried seafood we got. This is a classic CT by the water space that’s giant both inside and outside. And since it was a beautiful summer day, we had no problem heading outside and sitting on the deck. No one is in rush here, but who cares, it’s fried seafood. You sit, you wait, you drink drinks and when it comes, oh yes. The seafood platter? Delicious. The lobster roll? Delicious. Everything on the table? Fresh and delicious. You’re going to pay fried seafood prices, which are high, but again, who cares when it looks and tastes like this. Only good things from here, my friends, stop in and enjoy!

I don’t want this to be a bias review, I just didn’t care for my food very much. There was a large sea food selection so maybe I did get the wrong dish. Tried the fried soft shell crab and wasn’t overly impressed, however, I think I’m more about baked/broiled/pan seared seafood rather than fried. Large menu though and very good service.

FINALLY, LOBSTERTHAT’S NOTOVERCOOKED! I came here for their Tuesday night lobster special and it was amazing. The special includes clam chowder, calamari, lobster with a baked tater and veggies, and apple crisp/coffee for $ 40(for 2)! The young lady serving us was also super friendly. This place ain’t fancy, but it sure hits the spot.

Had such an awesome dinner last night. I’ve been coming to this place since I was a child, and it’s always been a safe bet. You’ll always get a good meal. Love their swordfish and their lobster«roll» was amazing!(Seems to be more like a hot open lobster roll, couldn’t pick it up and eat it, different but loved it). Oh, and im not sure how their«almost famous» wings are not yet famous. Must try. The place is always busy, so that speaks for itself.(but it’s big so I haven’t ever really had to wait.) They usually have entertainment in the summer. Must try!
