The Cork Shop

Great location and a lot more chilled wine than the place over by Stop&Shop.
Both people working were courteous.
Prices seemed on point.
I saw a few unusual bottles. This would be a great place to shop for a gift.

It is unfortunate that a small local business (which I usually like to support) would have such awful customer service. (Disclaimer: This is specifically about an interaction with one of the employees. The other man working there was nothing but kind.)
I pulled up to buy some beer and pick up my pizza from next door. There was one car in the lot for Cork Shoppe and, (if you’re from the area, you know what parking on a Friday evening at Marco’s next door is like) therefore I was unable to park in their lot, though I don’t think they would have had the same issue as the man from the Cork Shoppe did. The plan was to run and grab my pizza and then grab a six-​pack. As the employee stood in front of the door staring at me, I thought it was weird, but didn’t think much of it after that. Just as I crossed the lawn to Marco’s he whistled and yelled at me. He said I had to move my car. I mentioned that his store closed at 9, and as it was 7:50 or so, I had more than enough time to grab my pizza and then pick-​up my drinks. He continued to yell, so I walked back, purchased my beer as he condescendingly told me that «How they do it there is that you buy the liquor first and then you can pick-​up your pizza). *Thank you, Sir, for setting my schedule. I would be SO lost without your guidance.* If I were a small business owner and my parking lot was empty, I would not think, «I should probably be rude to a customer when they do come in.», but I have never owned a business, what do I know?
Bigger is better– I’m sticking to Coastal Wine and Spirits/​Harbor Package Store/​Branford Wine and Liquor. The staffs there are always super helpful and friendly.

Talk about customer service. I bought 2 bottled of wine, forgetting one item that I needed that cost 2 bucks, thereby needing to create another sale. I was told that there was a 5 dollar minimum, even though I had just spent 35 bucks 10 seconds before… Suffice it to say I won’t be back there again…
