Mickey’s A Taste Of Chicago

Tried to go at 6:20 PM on a Saturday and they were closed?! No hours posted anywhere we could see. Our friends have been several times and said food is good, but if you’re not open Saturday evening on Labor Day Weekend, that’s just bad business sense.

This appears t be a family run restaurant in Branson West. We have driven past the restaurant for years. Every time we go to Branson each family member gets to choose where they want to eat and my daughter chose this restaurant. Must be honest, neither my wife nor I were excited about the choice and had tried to steer her decision to a few other restaurants in town. However, she remained steadfast. We entered the restaurant and order our meals. They have two tables and a small number of stools for dining. Very small. Must say they had a number of different sandwiches to choose from and I went with their specialty (Chicago Dog). The food was absolutely terrific. The hotdogs were tasty and hot and fresh French fries. Needless to say we will try some of their other sandwiches the next time we are down in Branson, For the price it was really good.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times… each time it’s been great. The owners are really nice and friendly. The hotdogs are some of the best you’ll find. Vienna Beef products and authentic tastes of the Windy City. Seating is limited… and if they’re closed, don’t try the Asian place next door. Trust me.

I’ve enjoyed the food here many, many times over the years. This is a true Chicago italian beef, or all beef Vienna hot dog. Fries are as good as they get. My wife is in love with their pork tenderloin sandwich. If you’re looking for that real Chicago taste — this IS the place.

Great sandwiches! Our first visit there, and I would definitely return. This is not your chain food subway shop. The gyros are the best I have ever had and my husband’s Philadelphia cheese steak was great. On the gyro, I would order double meat the next time as it was so delicious (I eat low carb so am not interested in the bread). Prices are up there, but it is worth it.

Everything on the menu is awesome! The Italian beef, Philidelphia-​cheese steak, hotdogs, sliders, french fries & onion rings — you can not go wrong. Everything is cooked to order & hot when you get it.
