Hamners’ Unbelievable Variety Show

The ventriloquist was awful… but the singers were wonderful. The Russian husband and wife team doing the aerial acrobatics were great!

Two kids (four and eight) two parents, and a grandma all enjoyed this show. It had plenty to keep the kids entertained, and enough variety to keep it from feeling like it was geared specifically towards children. Concessions were reasonable, tickets were available at 2 for 1 tickets for the 8 PM show, so it was an overall good value by Branson standards.

Great show! Went with a large group of people (13 ppl age 6 – 62) and everyone enjoyed it. Illusions were mostly very good. Ventriloquist was funny. The Russian man and woman were really good, she did an act alone and then one together and both were great. You could really tell the host and magician really loved to entertain and was happy to be performing magic for everyone. The end had a wonderful tribute to veterans. I left feeling proud to be an American!

This is a great show, We are planning on going back very soon with our kids. Well worth the money and kids under 12 are free to all the shows at the theatre. The performers seem to really enjoy what they do and take time after the show to thank you for coming. Class Act.

We purchased tickets to this show because our son wanted to go to a magic show while in Branson. I was VERY worried after getting on here and seeing the bad reviews. I thought we wasted our money. So, reluctantly I drug myself to the show fearing the worst. Even after we got there I thought oh no… In the beginning they play old magic show clips on 2 large tv’s. By watching the shows my fears only grew. I KNEW we picked the WRONG show. BUT, after it started it was totally different! Our kids absolutely LOVED it!!! It WAS really good!!! There was always something going on. From magic to birds to singing and a huge gorilla to levitating people from the audience and so much more. It was really great!!! The ventriloquist was great too! I loved, loved, loved the ending I was fighting back tears! They got a standing ovation the night we were there. The only thing I didn’t care for was the popcorn.(VERY SALTY! And the pump butter like they use at the movies would have been nice.) Other than that it was great! My kids were literally BEGGING us to take them back the next day! We were prepared to see a so-​so show based on the reviews we’d seen here and elsewhere, but the tickets were very reasonable due to a Groupon, so we took our 18, 15, and 11 (kids 12 and under get in free) year olds to the Unbelievable variety show. The audience was very diverse, lots of older people and families with kids.
First off, the theater is very nice. The production value is high, with professional lighting and sound. The vocalists we saw were excellent. The kids might not have been too familiar with the music, but I think they enjoyed it all the same. The costuming, choreography, and music selections for the dancing/​magic portions were also well done. It was a family-​friendly show.
There were so many good things about the show as a whole that it’s hard to nit-​pick the smaller things, but some of the magic act is dated and doesn’t translate well on-​stage. It’s also pretty awkward when a performer waves his hands or pauses awkwardly waiting to be applauded. As a performer myself, if the audience isn’t feeling it, I would just move on.
Overall, if you can get a good deal on tickets, I would recommend it. We had a fun family night, and my kids even thanked me for taking them!

Just awful. A complete waste of time and money. The magic tricks were OLD. The singers were mediocre. The ventriloquist was terrible. Stupid bad jokes that weren’t funny. The acrobat was the only decent act in the show, hence the single star. We left at intermission. I have no doubt we made the right decision.

Great show! The performers are amazing. From music to illusions they have something for everyone. Make sure to check this show while in Branson!

I am absolutely not trying to be nasty, but we walked out! Horrible! Just trying to save a few people from the upset. We wanted so much for this to be amazing, but the magic was old, singing was that of a cruise ship, comedy was sad and the only 10 minutes worth anything was the birds. My (9) year old couldn’t wait to leave and my (6) year old asked if we had to watch this. There was quite possibly more advertising for upcoming shows & stuff to sell you than actual show itself.
Save your time!

Wife and I went tonight, disappointed, the material from Hamner & Barber both seemed very dated…

Very nice show for the family, with kids 10 and 13. Nice facility and both performers do a great job on their magic and ventriloquism. Kids liked it so much, they bought magic kits.
We really appreciated that we got to visit with Hammer and Barber after the show. We were the last to leave and they did not seem to mind.
(FYI, Hammer puts on a Great Sunday service. We are not regular church goers, but we tried it and liked it).

OMG this was stupid. I mean seriously. Not very good magic acts, and the guy with the dummy was a dumbass, and not funny AT ALL. we ended up walking out at the intermission, never even smiled it was so stupid. I think the resort I was staying at gets a kickback for offering this show. How else could they tell me it was great, when it was that damn stupid… seriously.

Great show. These guys are a 1 – 2 punch of non stop entertainment. Very funny and the magic still has my head spinning. This is a great show for kids but I was loving it just as much as them. The guys were so friendly they came out in the lobby before hand and did some tricks and then after the show they visited with everyone and rook photos and signed autographs. They had a wonderful tribute to veterans that was about Iwo Jima but I am a marine a partial to that battle. How Jim does his ventriloquist act is just amazing. If you want a show that never slows down and keeps ur attention this is the one for u. In my opinion this is one of the top 4 must see shows in Branson.

We were very disappointed in this «highly» recommended show. The singing was okay, the dancers were off_​from the music and each other and while the magic was good it lacked stage presence.
