Taney County Humane Society Thrift Store

Love this place; it’s jam packed with all kinds of stuff. Can be a little hard to maneuver around sometimes but it is an interesting place to spend time picking through the goods and there are always treasures to be found. Prices are especially good on books.

I’ve been to this thrift store a few times now and I’m honestly not that crazy over it. I have made a purchase each time, but in general I think their prices are slightly high for the merchandise quality they have on hand. I shop at a LOT of thrift stores, so I don’t think I’m being overly critical in my judgment here. There are some nice items to be found, and I am glad to support their charitable mission, but on average the clothing and footwear they sell is outdated and in less than ideal condition. On all visits I’ve dealt with different staff members and/​or volunteers who were never quite friendly, at least to me. That’s kind of a bummer since it is really not that hard to be cordial. The selection of books and magazines is above par, however, and they have some interesting collectibles and a pretty decent furniture selection. The location is just a couple of blocks from the heart of downtown Branson and the Landing, so it’s worth a stop if you are in the area and enjoy secondhand stores.

Prices and selection is good here. Only down fall is that it is a little cluttered and messy.
