I have been coming to Brattleboro, VT. Since childhood, and never could say I ever had an exceptional meal, tonight I did, the owner cook Ken, waitress Elizabeth. went over the top, you know when the chef visits the tables he is proud of his workI stared with a romaine and radiscio salad, very lightly dressed in a vinegarette. perfect, I had the Boneless Panko bread chicken with tomatoes and mushroom sauce, I opted for only a hint of the fontina cheese, another plus, everything is fresh and made to order. The Blue Moose Bistro is located on 39 Main St. Directly across from Latches Theatre, parking lots and garage nearby on the Latches side… Do not pass this place by very interesting menu.

This was probably the best meal I’ve had in a very very long time. The food was delicious. The service was excellent and the ambiance was perfect. The prices reasonable, especially for the quality of food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great menu, great food, great service! Price good for quality of dishes. Fairly busy evening and Chef appeared to visit all the tables to check on satisfaction. Unilocal close hours are wrong, they appear to stay open as long as they remain busy.

AAAMAZING! This quaint little place is just what the doctor ordered for lunch while traveling from CT through VT on our way to a college graduation at Lyndon State. We started with Nonna’s meatballs as an appetizer and they are the real deal(authentic Italian)! I had the grilled cheese w/tomato basil dipping sauce. The bread was a perfect combination of crispy but not too«bready» or over filling! My husband had the steakburger which was hand pressed & served on a wonderful light roll & absolutely mouthwatering! The owner, Ken, waited on us himself and answered our many questions about the area and give us suggestions which were all perfect. We ended our meal with the homemade carrot cake which was to die for! Everything about this meal from start to finish was incredible! We will make it a point to return whenever we’re driving up 91 into VT! Don’t pass this place by!

Absolutely fantastic! What a gem. I’ve lived here my whole life, and only yesterday we decided to give it a try. We will be frequenting this place many more times for sure. The décor is unassuming and humble, nothing boujee or pompous. I got a delicious cocktail called the Italian summer which was tart, and refreshing. My boyfriend got Johnny Walker on the rocks, and the serving size was very generous. We started with a mozzarella cheese board with no less than 10 spreads, which were all house made, fresh, different, and fantastic. A fresh garden salad, and meatballs, which were seasoned perfectly, delicious, and the perfect comfort good. I got the, special as an entrée, and I can say it was some of the best, and definitely was the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Melted fontina cheese, with an artichoke, and sundried tomato sauce. TODIEFOR. My boyfriend got the cheese ravioli, which was perfectly al dente. We have absolutely zero complaints about this place, and cannot wait to go back. Ken came out and greets all his guests and makes sure they are enjoying their food. He must do it, because he know’s his food is phenomenal. smile emoticon The wait staff was also super friendly. 5+ stars to this adorable place!

I had their home-made fettucini and it was divine. The sauce(shrimp and garlic) was good, too. But it was really that fresh, delicate, recognizably homemade by someone who knows what they’re doing taste that made me happy. Oh and the price was good, and so was the table wine. I wish more diners were there. They deserve it.

Nice small restaurant easy to miss in downtown Bratt, just across from the latchis theater. Good home cooked food, friendly atmosphere. Used to be on high street.

Came on a very busy«leaf-peeping» weekend, we made a reservation but were informed by the very nice hostess when we arrived that she had given our reservation to a walk-in by mistake. She took us to the bar to wait for a table, in spite of the fact that there were two open tables, and we waited there for 10 minutes while the bartender, who seemed to be a novice, fumbled with wine bottles and failed to take our drink orders. So we walked out – I can’t speak to the food, but it didn’t seem like a good sign!

Came here at around 6 pm on a Thursday. Surprisingly not crowded. Service was good. The chef came out to explain the kid’s food options, and the chef was very flexible on what he can make for our son. Very friendly service. Food was awesome and reasonably priced. Can actually taste the ingredients. I really recommend this place.

Who’d have thought that culinary inspiration could spring forth from Brattleboro, VT but Ken Flutie has brought Tuscany to the Green Mountain State. His creative dishes and penchant for mind blowing tastes should make anyone traveling through this area get off the interstate. Jocelyn serves as if you are the only one in the place and is unobtrusively attentive. The surprise bread course will wow even the most critical of diners. Tried the zucchini and summer squash with fresh tomato pasta, the skirt steak, and nonna’s meatballs all which are outstanding. The many offered salads are not to be skipped. Succulent flourless chocolate tort pairs well with a fine chianti. Come one, come all, but do not miss this dining experience.

Came here for dinner and our meal was perfect from start to finish! The place itself was cute and cozy, and the owner and our waitress were super friendly and accommodating. Our meals came with fresh salads and a warm loaf of bread that was served with 3 delicious spreads. I got the risotto for my entrée and my boyfriend got the spaghetti and meatballs — both were amazing! We’ll definitely be back here next time we’re visiting Brattleboro. Hidden gem!

Sherry and Chef outdid themselves for New Years Eve! What a great meal, each dish was familiar yet fresh. Four courses yet you are not weighed down. Can’t wait to return!

The grilled cheese(three types of fresh cheese) is worth stopping for, I am a burger person but I would consider sacrificing the burger for this grilled cheese, it is the best ever. The burger is a hand made ½ pound of ground steak on fresh soft bread. The burger is a must!

Went here tonight for dinner after walking around downtown Brattleboro. Very cute place, menu looked interesting. They make homemade pasta, which we did not try. I had the puttanesca, which was good(wish it came with the homemade pasta). My wife had a special pumpkin ravioli, which was too sweet and covered in too much sauce… it was more like a desert. I’d go again to try other food, but for the service. We got there at 7:10, and it took about 15 minutes to get our drink menu in — the waitress said there was some confusion over who was covering our table… ok honest mistake, though there are only around 10 tables in the place. Once we ordered, it took almost 40 more minutes to get our SALAD. We were going to a movie right across the street, and let the waitress know that we’d been there almost an hour, had not gotten apps yet, and needed to get to a movie in 30 minutes. They managed to get our entrée’s to us but we were a little rushed. There is no reason we could not have gotten 2 salads within 10 minutes after putting in the order… was just a house salad. Be willing to try again, but beware…

I was in Brattleboro for a nearby wedding and ate here with some of my family. I had the chicken rigatoni. It was pretty good, but nothing mind-blowing and the chicken was kind of dry. Overall I would totally eat here again if I were ever in the area, but first I would try some of the other places on that street. My family members had the spaghetti and meatballs and really enjoyed it.

Beware… no A.C., at least when we went. Very small and only one worker when we went, so service was pretty slow. The only food we enjoyed was the hanger steak and the bread dish. Hanger steak was pretty amazing! The garlic shrimp appetizer was nowhere near the $ 12 price and the Carbonara was poor. The chef stopped by our table, which would have been nice, yet when he asked how everything was we mentioned that although the steak was great the pasta wasn’t very good. He became offended and cleared our plates and walked away.

This is a great lunch place! We stopped in based on good reviews and are glad we did. Service was friendly, professional and efficient. The food was excellent, a very generous chopped salad and a vegetable burger. The salad iceberg with salami and beans. The dressing was perfect, without being too much or too little and enhancing but not overpowering the taste of the other ingredients. It’s easy to feel less than enthused about many salads. This one delivered both quantity and quality! The vegetable burger was moist and flavorful. A nice selection of wines is offered at a flat rate per glass. The beer selection, while not vast, reflects thoughtful coverage of the various styles. Beer prices are very reasonable given the high quality selections. A review of the atmosphere would be less relevant because as of this visit the café is relocating in a couple of weeks. The store and the café, which are currently adjacent, will be moving to different and separate locations.
