Brea U-Store

Spoke to Jody today and she is refusing to help me and will not release my desposit after ten year +. Claims she never received any of my emails or voicemails. Remarkable as I have a 10 year history of communication with her via emails and telephonic communications, especially when I was late with my rent payments. As such, I take Jody’s claim of «never receiving any emails or mine» as being less then straight.
So, now I will have to spend the time and money to pursue legal remedies to secure my rightful deposit that she is holding ransom. Guess this is the way they choose to do business. Whatever happened to a hand shake???
I always prefer to do business with family owned operations but I urge you to go across the street or with a corporate owned storage facility rather then do business with Brea U Store.
And only do business with them in person and in writing. It is a real shame.

If I could give this negative stars I would. If you don’t read the rest of my post, here is the bottom line: THE CUSTOMER IS NOT THE PRIORITY AT THIS PLACE. Even when I asked straight out, «Are you willing to lose a return customer over $ 4?!» she (I think her name is JODI) said «It doesn’t matter».
I hope the owners read Unilocal to hear from the customer to see how their employees are treating and speaking to their customer. After I knew she didn’t care about me as the customer, why should I care to hear anything she had to say.
*We pay good money for this storage unit and the customer service is NOT included.
*The office hours are unrealistic and are not very accommodating
*We called 3 minutes before close and the voicemail was already picking up.
We moved all of our stuff out on the last day of the month, and the unit was clean and empty when we left. We would have sign the Close of the Lease that day, but again the offices were already closed at 4:30. You basically have to take the day off to meet their office schedule. We went into the office the very next day (first day of the month) and we were notified that we would be docked $ 4 from our deposit because we didn’t sign it the day before. EVEN THOUGH WE WOULD HAVE IF THE OFFICE WAS OPEN.

We had a lot to store, basically our whole house while we were traveling for 6 months and they were very accommodating finding us a storage unit that was big enough. We ended up combining 4 units and it was perfect for us.
Also, the owners are very friendly and called us if there was ever any suspicious activity.

We found this place driving by and decided to stop in. So glad we did. The rates are very reasonable and the customer service was awesome!
