Went there last Sunday for dinner. Service was awful. Not just slow, but inattentive. We got up and had to get out pizza that had been ready for at least 10 minutes. Ordered appetizers that came after we were done with the food.

I used to frequent this restaurant, but that’s gonna change. Very disappointed with the service tonight. Called in early for a takeout and found out the order wasn’t even taken, so the employee offered to put the order in when I arrived. What is even worse is that it was clear that he lost my order as I saw him scrambling to find it when I arrived, but instead of telling the truth, he said that they are really busy and are behind. Not too sharp of an employee and an even worse liar. Sorry but I can’t support a business if they treat a frequent customer like this.

Very slow serving food. Waited 45 mins between salad and entrée. Salad good; some garlic knots were burned on bottom. Lasagna was not special. Waitress was pleasant.

We have been going to Mammaluccos for years, the service for take tonight was VERY disappointing usually always slow, food is never ready when they tell you but tonight I waited an extra 10 minutes but I walked in one customer in front of me, it took over 10 minutes for the front counter server to even acknowledge him as I continue to wait after they finally finished with him they walked away like I wasn’t even standing there the worst customer service I have seen or felt the staff walked past me at least 10 times each and never even made eye contact, when finally one stopped and ask me if I was picking up I said yes. Gave my name phone order was for 2 sandwiches and 2 salads, my order was rang up and I was given 1sandwich I asked for the rest of my order they check with cooks, yes they had put them on the table, nope wasn’t there well it was there as the guy in front of me went home with 1 of my sandwiches… So I waited another 20 minutes to find out my salads that I order with the sandwich never were even written on order… They remade the one sandwich, the other sandwich is now cold and no salad… No apology, no salads… 1 hot sandwich, 1 cold dry meatball sandwich… have they taken all the competent workers to the new location? We will never find out I will never recommend this place to anyone VERYPOORCUSTOMERSERVICE Even dine in customer came up to the front asking for their food as they had been waiting for an extremely long time!

This is easily one of the best places I’ve been to in a while. I’ve been coming hear about 5 years when I get the chance. Ive never been disappointed with the food. John goes out of his way to facilitate parties and every time has been a fantastic night and especially Fridays with live singer who’s pretty amazing in this quaint venue. Anytime we bring friends here they can’t believe what’s inside as it doesn’t look anything special from outside. It’s a little gem that’s hidden away. Thanks for another great night John

Lunch — great service by Alex! Great food! — spaghetti and stuffed shells. Both meals came with a take home option of a separate pasta. How can you go wrong. All in all, a wonderful experience!

This place is great, the pizza is delicious and I love that they sell by the slice. The owner was really nice, and service by the other employees was great also. Definitely NY style pizza, cannot deny that.

This is the spot to go for a pie in North Orange County. The pies resemble that of one from NY.

The crust on the pizza is so good it’s perfect to fold in half but is still crispy. The chicken wings were really good as well and the manager was really nice to us and very welcoming

Our experience is only with the Goomba Lounge. We’ve been coming off and on for the last two years or so. Service seems to have gone downhill. My husband recently came in by himself and waited ten minutes for a server, never got one so he left. We are here now and the waitress is very inattentive. Disappointing because this place has great potential.

We used to have the pizza here and really enjoyed it. Last night we wanted warm and comforting Italian food delivered to the door. We ordered two pasta dishes, one with spinach and one with eggplant and were extremely disappointed. The eggplant was so undercooked it was not eatable, the pasta with if had some light tomato sauce with almost no flavor. The spinach dish was a layer of cooked ziti that was dry and had no sauce and the spinach was a hard blob of spinach, cheese and garlic on top. It was not possible to stir the two together. The salad that came with it was the only thing we enjoyed eating. The deliveryman was friendly. I thought maybe we could try to do something to make it eatable, but we gave it up, because there really wasn’t enough to work with. This will be the last time we will order either in or out from this restaurant.(maybe a slice sometime)

My Husband and I just happen to run into this place… It was sooooooo amazing! I grew up with homemade Italian cooking from my grandma abs nothing has ever compared… I would actually say this is as good as my grandmas homemade Italian food! We also have a toddler and while we were waiting for our food the waiter brought our daughter a piece of dough to play with… She was so excited… If you are in the neighborhood you should try this place!

I drive from Huntington Beach to eat at this place! There Buffalo Chicken Wing Pizza is the best! I would highly recommend that you try this place!

Bad service. garlic knots were stale. Had to beg for drink refills. Alfredo tasted like it came out of a jar and both my husband and I had to run to the bathroom shortly after leaving. Hardly a coincidence since we had the same sauce. We won’t be coming back here. Vinnie’s in La Habra beats this place hands down. Hell, even Olive Garden does.

I ordered the baked ziti(my favorite order at Italian-American food restaurants) with meatballs and it was pretty disappointing. It seemed that the noodles were boiled first(the bottom of the container was watery), topped with sauce and cheese and then stuck in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese(the sauce didn’t crust along the edge). Definitely not baked. To add, everything was very bland. No hints of garlic nor oregano nor basil. Sauce tasted like a generic canned tomato sauce and the meatballs had no flavor. They were just dense balls of meat: the same meat found in a can of spaghetti-Os with meatballs. Oh and the garlic bread seemed to be missing a key ingredient, garlic, and consisted of what was just a minimal amount of butter or olive oil spread over white bread, though it was hard to tell. The salad was decent. A typical restaurant house salad, but it was fresh and crisp which is always a plus. If the food was cheap(like $ 6 – 10) it would be a fair price for one who eats to live, and I would not leave a negative review. But the price is ridiculous for the quality of food. Something an American family with no knowledge of cooking can prepare. All that said, after reading the other reviews, I’ll give this place another shot to try the pizza and adjust my rating.

I split a large Lucatoni pizza with a friend for about $ 29 after tax and it was amazing! I love the way the pizza is cut into three different sections with the center chicken and garlic section being in square slices. The crust is also unbelievably good. It was a little too much for two people so I took home the remainder. Probably 3 people would have been perfect.

This is my slice pizza joint, there are many like it, but this one is mine… Ok, well there aren’t that many slice pizza joints, where you can run in and get a quick slice that aren’t garbage. Truth be told, Mammalucco’s is 3 stars for most of their food. I’ve never been very impressed with any of the Italian dishes or their sandwiches. But for just a thin crust slice of pizza, reheated in an oven, they have my vote if you are in the neighborhood. You will usually find a selection of 8 different pies coming out of their main ovens from 11am onward. This should be what everyone does, but you will find quite a few slice places, just making cheese or pepperoni pizzas and then adding toppings to reheat it. At Mammalucco’s they understand that’s not the way to make a good slice of pizza. The toppings must cook along with the original pie. Standard selections are usually, cheese, pepperoni, sausage & pepperoni, pepperoni & mushroom, garlic & spinach & mushroom, buffalo chicken, hawaiian, and a stuffed pizza called the Vinny No Neck — which I’m not that big a fan of. I want to like the Vinny No Neck, but I think the sausage is just average here and this thing is stuffed with it. Like I said, stick to the thin crust pies and you’ll be happy. My favorite is the simple pepperoni & mushroom. The mushrooms are sliced razor thin and cooks nicely in the pepperoni grease on the pie. A good slice should always have some tasty pepperoni grease, yum. The spinach, garlic, mushroom is also a very tasty vegetarian option. Because their crust is nice and thin, Mammalucco’s is a good spot to break your diet without actually breaking your diet. I regularly eat one slice of pepperoni & mushroom, and a slice of either veggie or the spinach, garlic, mushroom; and still manage to lose weight if I have a normal sized dinner. Who said you can’t have pizza on your diet? You just have to make it thin crust and no more than one slice with pepperoni. It helps that they don’t load the pepperoni on. They have lunch specials, where you can get a slice, salad, and soda for $ 7. It’s not super cheap — but I don’t want super cheap, I want good quality pizza. The crust at Mammalucco’s is pretty good for SoCal pizza and has a nice flavor on it’s own. This is what I consider to be a real slice of NY pizza. I’m talking about the to go slice places you see all over NY, not the more famous coal fired NY pizzas like Lombardi’s, Grimaldi’s, or John’s Brick Oven. This is the kind of slice of pizza, I would grab on the quick when I lived there. And so I’m happy to grab it on the quick in Brea. If you are nearby, I recommend that you do too. Thanks Mammalucco’s, It’s nice to have a slice of NY right here in SoCal. Although — I do have one request — can someone please get them a salad spinner? The salads are nice and fresh, but in my 5 years of eating here — there’s always a pool of water at the bottom of the container which makes the ranch dressing runny.

Kinda sad we got turned away being told they don’t accept people 15 til. It was 22 til closing, a bunch of people were still there. We drove from Long Beach just got the garlic knots. I understand if we just got there at the last minute but seriously all we wanted was a few slices(already made) and garlic knots. Oh well… not coming back

Came here with the lady for happy hour and ordered the following: –Garlic knots(are not to die for, you’re not missing out) –Pizza sliders w/pepperoni(tasted ok) –Wings(ordered 3 honey BBQ and 3 hot, the 3 hot wings seemed like they were sitting out, not fresh at all, standard tasting wings) –Piccolo w/sausage(nothing special) –Hoppy Poppy ipa(prob wouldn’t order again) –Mango iced cocktail There was something in the food that gave me a nasty after taste, was prob the low grade garlic. Also, we were checked on once during our meal, it was prob cuz we only saw two servers on the floor. Would not come back here for the same items we ordered. Although, we did order a slice of pepperoni to go in the past and it was delicious.
