This lounge was a great place with resonable priced drinks… It was a quite chill place to kick it with your friends. I hope it reopens one day…

We went here to hang out after a wedding. It was for close friends of the newlyweds, and they had the outside section reserved. It didn’t cost anything for the reservation, we just had to pay for the drinks, so that was definitely a cool plus. The atmosphere was laid back and nice while lounging and chatting with friends. Comfortable seating area, and nice heating lamps for when it’s chilly, and since it’s on the second floor, you always have a nice view of the plaza and the people walking around underneath.

this place is legit… very cool spot. we went on a thursday night after dinner and of course, there wasn’t a whole lot of people there. the place is not that big so we were fine since… again…it was a thursday. the décor was pretty plush, did look little retroish! it’s half indoors and half outdoors and for you smokers, its the place to be! not that kind of smoke. there were some plasmas… good place to chill and watch a game. some reviews say bad things about their cups… they do serve their drinks in plastic cups but its not what you think when you hear plastic cups. it doesn’t look like the typical backyard bbq type cups. they do look like glasses bars and lounges would serve but its just plastic… who really cares anyway??? for all you single men and some women, the waitresses were all tall, blonde and not ugly! you can try but no guarantees! there is no cover and the drinks were priced like anywhere else. they did play a lot of tribe called quest and some old hip hop which was a definite plus if you’re into that kind of music. one last thing… be warned, there is this regular that parks his bicycle near the entrance of the bar… some of you may think he’s funny but some of you may think he’s obnoxious! don’t get in a fight guys! we are all there to have a good time… and sky lounge is a cool place be!

Surprisingly cool place. Wasn’t that busy on a Saturday night, but the women working here(it’s all ladies except for the bouncer) were very funny with great personalities. Love the retro 60s space age outfits, prices were great for the drinks. Open air patio and great music. The bathrooms were a little bit too trendy for me, but I’m an old guy. I’d come here again any time — made me feel hip and cool to be here!

so i heard that the continental room had a new little sister in Brea. I was excited since i like the continental(not as much as i used to however), so i went to check it out as soon as i heard. The place is relatively cool. Great view, attractive female bartenders, good drinks, good atmosphere. Actually its a great place for a date, providing he/she doesn’t need to use the restroom. The Men’s had an «Out of Order» sign, so I used the Women’s. No big deal until i had to call my girlfriend to let me out. Being trapped in a bathroom kinda puts a damper on things. Seems a little bit strange since the place has only been open like 2 months, but whatever. I’d recommend it but just go potty before you leave the house.

Very upscale looking lounge/bar in downtown Brea. Prices are decent however; drinking from plastic cup is a major turn off. Please do something about it Sky Lounge. It’s less crowded than Yardhouse so it’s a good place to chill, however, it’s also kind of dead if you are looking for some action. It would be great to have DJ’s on weekends and different genre of music played on weeknights. Hopefully one night would be Chill/House/Vocal Trance. LIVE music once in awhile would be cool too. Lastly, don’t start«Asian nights». Look what happened to Bar 330.

Very Very Very cool place. this is located upstairs on the far end of the birch street promenade in brea. the décor is awesome, super retro swanky and the the whole thing is pretty much outdoors. there is an indoor area, but both walls are wide open so it’s airy. i’ve been here more than a few times seeing as how i live close by, and so far it’s never been all that busy. that’s great for me as i’m not into loud and crowded, but it does worry me a bit about their staying power. hope thy make it. best part about this besides the waitress uniforms(think 1950’s stewardess meets go-go dancer) is that it’s technically outside. cigar smoking is encouraged. nice! also, on hot days like today they have 4, maybe 5, high powered fans with misters attached to them. even in 100 degree weather it felt like a brisk 89. :) definitely worth checking out. they open at 2pm. ask me how i know that. run an ad on Unilocal guys. it worked for Proof Bar in santa ana. oh, and maybe throw in some cool DJ nights on your slower days. something that fits with the vibe. dubby frank sinatra or dean martin. this would be perfect: just saying :)

a surprisingly unexpected find! located behind a shopping area, jane j. and i came here on a friday night looking for a chill place to hang out and grab a drink. abundant parking in the huge adjacent parking structure, we wandered into an indoor-ish outdoors area(feels very retro miami). as described by others, nice décor with friendly staff and clean and interesting(but only one!) bathroom. seems like a great place to invite a few friends to hang out for a bday party — smaller crowds and a booths available that don’t require bottle service. most importantly, drinks were delicious and not vegas-priced! $ 8 for grey goose martinis(jane j had a the cosmo — perfectly sweet — and i tried the caramel apple martini — yum!). … if they had dancing this would be my new favorite spot!

This place definitely has the potential to earn 5 stars, there are just a few minor things that need to done. But, for being open for only a few weeks, its a great place to come by and have a drink. I really like the décor of this place, its clean, trendy, and a little retro. The waitresses wear cute red dresses and go-go boots, which definitely add to the«retro» vibe I think the lounge is trying to give off. The waitress we had was very nice and helpful. Being that this place is supposed to specialize in martinis, we asked what she recommended. I ended up ordering a Raspberry Lemon Drop. Delicious. I was very pleased with my drink. I also really enjoyed the music they were playing; Frank Sinatra etc. It was fun and kept the mood of the place mellow. However, I heard that they are supposed to have DJ on the weekends, but there was none that night. There were plenty of TVs that were playing the game, which was nice. I was able to enjoy again without that sports bar feel(even though that’s nice sometimes too). Only drawback was that the tables that have in the middle are standing only. They are no chairs. There is a long lounge couch along the edge, but at the time all the seats, near a table at least, were taken. There was also a small VIP section inside and the glass tables had goldfish in them. So Awesome! I also have to make it a point to go to their bathroom. Even if you don’t need to go – that’s how amazing the décor is! Very clean, fresh, colorful, and trendy. The only drawbacks about the Sky Lounge is that there is no food. I personally like the option of being to eat while having a drink, but it’s not something that would keep me from coming here. However, after talking to the waitress she informed us that they are trying to make a deal with the sushi place down stairs and create a special menu for the lounge customers to order from. Until then, the Sky Lounge does have dishes of assorted nuts, if you ask for them. Also, note to those who do not like to smoke, or enjoy being around smoke: this place is advertising its area for smoking cigars. While no one was smoking while I was there, I am sure it will be something that’ll pickup, especially due to the large open layout. This place is very different from the owners other venue(The Slidebar) but it is a great change of pace and a great place to relax and have a drink. But I noticed that for the majority of the people who walked in, it is a place to have a drink or two and then leave to go out. Most people didn’t stay longer than that. But I found relaxing on the couch quite nice.

I live in Brea. Before ever stepping foot in Sky Lounge I thought it was in dire need of signage pointing the way to enter the place. It’s on the second level without obvious access from the street level, so you have to make your way up through the stairs in the parking garage. I went in with my wife on a Saturday night sometime around 10pm. There were maybe 10 people in the place. No one greeted us when we entered. We sat at a table adjacent to the bar. We waited ten minutes and were never approached by a cocktail server or acknowledged by the bartender. We left shortly thereafter. We frequent the restaurants and bars on Birch St., but won’t be going back to this place.

I may upgrade this review later, but for now the Sky Lounge still has some things it needs to change before I would give it 5 stars: * What’s up with no DJ’s spinning? * They have all these cool flat panel TVs everywhere, but all they play on them is sports sports and more sports? Last I checked, I thought it was called Sky«LOUNGE» not 330 Sports Bar… they really need to put some cool visuals on those screens instead of sports all the time. * Nice décor * Good drinks Sky Lounge has potential, I just have a hard time classifying it as a full blown lounge due to the lack of lighting ambiance, flat panel visuals, and DJ’s spinning tunes by Thievery Corp or Groove Armada!

David L summed up the place quite accurately, so I’ll only add to his already thorough review. The Sky Lounge is the sister bar of The Continental Room and the Slidebar in Fullerton. They make a venerable effort to bring the night life back to Brea and promote a more upscale atmosphere. The place is decorated in a 1960’s theme with«futuristic» light fixtures and the wait staff dressed in flight attendant outfits wearing white patent go go boots. I would guess that approximately 3⁄5 of the place is outdoor and 2⁄5 indoor, with a full bar on each side. There are some doors that separate the two sections but they seem to leave them open to create a bigger and more fluid space. The patio area has lounge type seating, with comfortable sofas facing each other with cocktail tables in between. They also have several standing tables placed beside the bars. Because it is outdoor, there are quite a few people smoking, so if cigarette smoke bothers you, you’d probably be better off inside. The Sky Lounge has a number of LCD TVs hanging high on the walls showing various shows and sports too. The drinks are reasonable in price(around $ 6 – 8) and in quantity(decent pours), but I am looking forward to checking out their specials($ 5 premium bloody mary bar on Sundays!). The bathroom’s are nice and clean, since the place is still new, but I do wish they’d put up a vanity mirror or something so you can check yourself. I mean, yes they have mirrors but they are placed on the top half of the walls. So unless you are a 6’5″ woman in heels there is no way you can see your reflection. However, I did find the chrome doorway to be quite useful. The chrome sink and/or toilet, not so much.
