The Cutting Edge Brea

I stopped by to get my hair trimmed. Tuoi took care of me and she did exactly what I asked her to do! While this may sound like a no-​brainer, how often does a stylist do what THEY want instead of what you ask for? The service was fast, the place was super clean and the price is half what I usually pay. I’ll be back!

Great prices and very friendly. I have had several of the girls and one of the guys cut, color and blow out my hair and they have all done a great job.

The owner, Miriana, who is quite stylish was very cordial and easy to talk to right away. She quickly understood what hair style was desired and made sure exactly what I wanted thoroughly even adding any details I may have missed such as hair texture, certain layers, etc. — great effective communication skills might I add.
She washes the hair with care and the water at perfect temperature — shampoo even smelled wonderful. I can tell only quality products and tools are used here at this salon.
Throughout the haircut she communicated with me what she was doing or going to do and it was a cool process as I could tell she was pretty focused on her work. I got the cut I asked for and wanted and was very pleased with the results.
The other employees were really kind as well and I could tell the owner really treats her staff very well and in a genuine manner. The shop is also very well kept, organized and spaced out well. I will definitely only be getting my hair done at the Cutting Edge Brea by Miriana going forward. Thank you so much for the excellent hair services and at a very reasonable rate as well!!! =)

5 Star for the Salon & 5 Star for the Stylist
First things first, my wife who is a hair Stylist had been cutting my hair for the past 6 years. So why in the world would I be looking for a Salon or a new Stylist?
Simply put my wife owns and operates an eyebrow threading, waxing and facial service salon. Business has picked up so much that she just doesn’t have time to cut my hair. Plus going over to our salon on Sunday’s to cut hair and cleanup the place when done was turning out to be too much work for both of us (especially on her day off).
First time I had been to The Cutting Edge was back when she was pregnant. Unfortunately the stylist I had didn’t do that great of a job that I would wanted to return back. But I loved how the salon looked, super clean, modern, clean lines, just perfect.
So finally now that my wife has call it quits with my hair, I thought I go back out to Unilocal to see if there were any reviews for The Cutting Edge and see who everyone recommended. Two names that always came up was Eunice and Mariana. When I called the person that answered the phone was very professional with amazing communication skills, also very polite, told me that neither of them were going to be in today. Regardless, I decided to show up and give them a try, because I was at point where I couldn’t wait any longer.
When I came in, the salon looked exactly how I remembered from last time, still very clean and organized, the kind of place where you want to go back to. A gentlemen was cutting someone’s hair and my future stylist Sofia was sitting at the reception desk. She greeted me with a professional warm welcome, inquired if I was the one who had just called earlier. Her composure was very relaxed and approachable.
What she did next as soon as she sat me down, is ask me how would I like my hair cut and how do I wear my hair. As she proceeded to listen to me and observe my face and my hair, it reminded me of exactly what my wife does with her clients when they come into our salon to get their eyebrows done. It’s the art of visualizing what a customer is asking for and observing their structure to see if it’s going to go well with their request. She washed my hair, proceeded to cut my hair, I could tell that she knew what she was doing, not an ounce of confusion in her mind, very clear and decisive in her movement.
After she was done, he told me few spots where she left my hair longer based on my cowlick, etc. etc. But most importantly she solicited feedback, and showed willingness to do something different to my liking if I wasn’t satisfied. I was very happy with the outcome, also my wife who is the final authority was speechless on the outcome after I showered and styled my hair the usual way. She was very pleased and looking forward to getting her own hair cut by Sofia.
So here it is, to Sofia, for an amazing job and besides my wife you will be the only one who will cut my hair.

My family and I have been going there and seeing Eunice for a few years now. Always a pleasant experience and happy with our hair. The only reason why I couldn’t give 5 stars is bc she only works wed-​sat.

Great place! Yunice is so sweet and attentive! She made my blowout a great experience! Prices are very reasonable as in Dallas, to get a blowout is much higher! Will come back here when I’m in town! Thanks yunice

Was looking for a local place to get a haircut. Love this place. Miriana is amazing. Highly recommend.

Made an appointment and sat patiently waiting for 30 min for Todd to show up. No explanation given. Had to finally leave to go back to work. This place is super inconsistent with appointments. Never coming back again.

Took my 7 year old here for a hair cut. It was $ 13 not including tip. The salon was clean. The ladies were very nice and welcoming. We got what we asked for from Raylene (…she has the middle station/​chair). She took her time with cutting and styling his hair. 4 stars because she didn’t wash his hair before or after (he came in with product in his hair) and styled his hair with more product.

I just moved to Brea and found this place by accident. Everyone here is so nice, friendly and professional. I love my new haircut by Miriana. I will come back and get ombré when my roots grow out.

I was referred here by a friend and I am beyond impressed. I’ve come three times already for a trim and to put in my tape-​in hair extensions, and every time I have been very happy with how my hair has turned out. Eunice did such an amazing job especially this last time which was a day before my wedding (something I would not have risked getting done elsewhere). Everyone, especially the owner Miriana, is nice and welcoming. I highly reccommend this salon for both the customer service and quality.

I wish I could give 4 or 5 stars. I bring my toddler boy here and I always come right at opening, so I can be the first customer and spare my son from waiting for others. But they are always, always late. If they open at 9am, they come at 9:15. I come 15 min before opening to ensure being first in line. So I wait 30 minutes for a 15 minute haircut. But they are always nice and I like how they cut his hair.

I normally don’t trust anyone with my hair, but Miriana did a great job! I absolutely love it my new cut. I felt comfortable, she was very easy to talk too and understood what I was looking for.

Miriana is amazing. She gave me a seamless ombré. I had dark brown almost black hair and I had no breakage. It’s gonna be a gradual process to my goal but she totally gained my trust. Not to mention she has cutting and blow drying skills. Miriana and her salon are a keeper!

My family and I have been coming here since they opened YEARS ago! Miriana (the owner) is extremely nice and takes very good care of her shop! I have VERY curly hair and she is the only person I trust to cut my hair! 5 stars every time!

Such an awesome salon! Miriana always cuts my hair. She’s the best stylist I’ve ever had and she is so fast! I have some friends that go to Eunice and she does a great job too. It’s a really clean, modern salon and very reasonable prices. I wiil go nowhere else!

Not sure who did my hair but I asked for layers. She bunched half my hair up and chopped it right off. She only made one layer so my long hair was just sticking out like I had extensions on. I asked her to fix it and blend it so it transitions more clean but she claims to not see the problem. I left very unhappy with a horrible hair cut. It’s $ 18 just a cut, no wash, no blowdry. I had to tell you how to cut my own hair which seemed very unprofessional.

Thank the universe for Sophia! I’ve tried doing my own hair in between visits and everytime it ends in disaster and Sophia always fixes my hair horrors :)
The salon is always clean and well kept, there is hardly ever a wait time and prices are very fair. All of the staff is friendly.
On a side note, sitting in the salon waiting for my color to finish up I’ve witnessed the stylist do a number of kids cuts; which in my opinion are the hardest to do ;)

This place is great– friendly owner and staff– always clean and never a wait. $$ comparable if not less than Supercuts, Great Clips, etc.

I’ve been going to The Cutting Edge to get a haircut for the past year and a half, and I always leave satisfied. My wife and I go to Eunice, but the rest of the staff are very good too. The place is clean, and it’s spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re in close quarters with the other patrons. Their prices are very reasonable too, especially for the quality of work they do.
Also, there’s a parking lot in the back, in case you don’t want to park on the street.
