Epic brewery, highly recommend. Chili beer and coconut porter are second to none! Great staff and chill vibes.

Great place for a beer after skiing, relaxing time with friends. My first time in Colorado and I’ll be back to this brewery for sure!

It’s rare to see 5 stars with over 100 reviews, but broken compass deserves it. There is no chicken wings, no tv’s just great times and cool vibe. You can bring your dog, you can pack snacks you can play cribbage … It’s all good at the broken compass.

First visited Brewery in Breckenridge and my friends’ recommendation came through. Definitelt go with their coconut porter!

Ordered a flight. The coconut porter was my favorite. It was dark but not heavy. There was definitely a strong coconut flavor, so if that’s not your thing I wouldn’t recommend it. I also liked the Belgian wit and helles — those would be my top 3. I wasn’t a huge fan of the spicy beers like raspberry habanero or the spicy pepper pale ale, but I think they would be excellent bloody beers. I would definitely come back, they have a great assortment of games. It does get crowded though, but I think that’s typical on a weekend at a brewery.

If you’re looking for a low-key place to escape the crowds at Breck and try some great beer, this is it! A relatively new brewery with a wide-variety of choices, Broken Compass has a very local vibe to it and is an aweosme apres ski destination. The only downsides are the distance from downtown Breckenridge(only 5 – 10 minutes) and the lack of food options. Still, don’t let this stop you from checking this place out!

Excellent brews and a welcome addition to the Breck brewing scene. Incredibly nice and informative staff. Easy parking ! Well worth a stop or two on your Breck vacation.

Holy heck, if you’re in Breckenridge then you MUST stop here! The unassuming location of this place is a little outside of the village center, but it is definitely worth coming to(only a 5⁄10 minute drive). My boyfriend and I drove past this place on our way in to ski for the day, and thought we should stop in after we were finished on the mountain. Boy were were glad we did. The chocolate coffee stout might be one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted. The aromatics of this beer were impeccable, and complimented the taste wonderfully. I wish we had ordered a flight and stayed here longer, but we were very hungry and needed to go into town for food. Although, it is good to note that you can bring your own food in here to accompany your beer as well. Broken Compass will be the first stop I make the next time I am in Breckenridge! Friendly and knowledgeable service, and decadent beers! What’s not to love?(And the beers are way better than another brewery this town is known for…)

Wow! We are pretty picky about our craft beer but this one is worth the drive and definitely a new favorite. They had a great selection — 12 available on tap. Our favorite was the Coconut Porter(ABV5.9% IBU28) and Double IPA(ABV8.9% IBU95). We read that you should bring food so we picked up a cheesesteak sandwich at Muncheeze(make sure you call it in before you get there — slow service but great sandwich). Service was awesome — one bartender for 16ish customers — but she worked it well. Recommend stopping by after a ski day or hiking. We liked it so much, we bought our seventh growler just so we can drink the beer later(note to self– put a growler in car permanently for occasions like this). Parking sucks — just be aware. And the inside is really small. Again, patience — it’s worth it. Check this place out — soon!!!

Great brewery with an awesome atmosphere! Owners are usually around and they gave us a free tour of the brewery! Great experience!

This place is absolutely amazing. From the atmosphere to the beer I could not ask for more other than they put one in KCMO or at least start bottling there beer. This is a relatively new brewery but there beer seems as though the recipe has taken ages to perfect. They have at chocolate coffee stout that is the best I have had. If you are visiting Breckenridge this is a stop you have to make. Also they have games galore and it really adds to ambiance. There place is small and there is not a lot of seating but honestly it’s worth what ever wait to get a seat.

Good beer, nice laid back space and off the beaten path in Breck, which is nice. Nonetheless, they do draw an après-ski crowd, and they are ready and waiting with roll out tables and stools to accommodate everyone. They don’t have food, but you can bring your own. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. I will definitely stop in the next time I’m in town!

For a couple of beer enthusiasts, stumbling upon Broken Compass completed our snowboard/beer tasting week in CO. Lindsay greeted us right away with a smile and a list of the beers on tap. We chose a flight of 9. We couldn’t pick a favorite. Hands down, these brewers know what they’re doing. Best beer we’ve had in all of Colorado. The black IPA, ginger pale ale and Helles were top three if we had to narrow it down. Left with some great merchandise and bellies full of some incredibly delicious beer. We will most definitely be returning! Thanks Lindsay!

Well yes, this is just as good as it gets! I’m glad our friends have been hounding us to try this place out. «Try the coconut porter», they’ve said. Yes, the coconut porter is pretty bomb AND so are almost all of their other beers(according to my taste buds). My love and I got a flight of 8. We basically loved 7 out of the 8 that we tried. You really CANNOT go wrong. Usually our flights are a mix of good, decent, and not so good. With each one, we kept saying«MMM that’s good!» This is unusual but it happened! The helles, coconut porter, pale ale, all really done well. The only critique I would give is that the brown is wasn’t so much a brown ale because it lacked the hoppy flavors that brown ales usually have. And the black IPA just wasn’t impressive. Otherwise, it was almost a sweeping win. And damn, that coconut porter was lip-smacking delicious. I don’t think I’m one to say I love coconut, but this was done well and tastefully so. I wish they’d open up a location in Denver so I could have it all the time! It would make a nice dessert.

The amazing thing about Broken Compass is that every beer they brew hits exactly the right flavor profile. Whether it’s the Coconut Porter, Ginger Pale, IPA or anything else on their menu you literally can’t go wrong. So many breweries specialze in one type of beer then fall short in others but that is not the problem here. Me & a buddy first discovered it this summer on our way back from hiking Quandary and it is now a stop I make every time I am up from Denver just to get a growler fill. My buddy isn’t so lucky to be up in Breck as often as me so he’s actually given me a growler to keep in my trunk just so when I stop I can grab him a Coconut Porter fill. Yes, it is that good.

Love this place and great beers! I love their Coconut Porter and the Pumpkin beer. I love the décor of the wood and recycled ski lift metal. This place tends to be packed, even in the off season. Always a pleasure!

I’ll be honest I was a little annoyed that I couldn’t find a seat when I first went up to the bar. It’s small brewery with limited seating. Does this cloud my experience with the beer — eh — I’m not sure. But I did try it all and out of all of the taps including the Porter, The red, the Pale Ale, Chile pale, ginger pale that Unilocal reviews encourage me to try I went back to the old standby IPA. Would I purchase a six pack? Probably not. Would I fill up a growler if I lived in the town — possibly. I think Great Divide really set the standard for me in Denver and it was hard to beat that brewery the entire trip. But when you compare Breckinridge’s Broken Compass to other breweries in larger cities especially Texas it wins by far. When you compare it to Breckenridge brewery down the street, the beer is better. How is this small little town able to crank out such drinkable beer? I guess because it’s Colorado and they know beer.

Solid beers. Tasted the full line up and they were all amazing! Coconut porter was a surprise. Didn’t know what to expect but was not overdone at all IPA was my favorite but the Bourbon Barrel Brown and Belgian Wit were equally as awesome Do yourself a favor and make sure that you hit this place when your visiting Breck You won’t be sorry

Easily a 5-star brewery! My boyfriend and I were visiting Breckenridge from Denver, walked by the lines at the Breckenridge Brewery, saw the mediocre reviews, and decided to try something off the beaten bath. So glad we did. We sampled five different beers on our visit and each were able to stand on their own: Belgian Wit Irish Red Coconut Porter Ginger Pale Ale Double IPA Favorite? The coconut porter! I’m not usually one for dark beer but the flavor was so delicious. Almost a dessert beer. We overheard the owner talking to a local restaurant representative about using their ovens to toast the coconut. They take this seriously. Second was the ginger pale ale. Real ginger flavor and still easy to sip. We almost walked out with a growler but for some reason convinced ourselves against it. I think mostly because we couldn’t imagine sharing it with others. Also — games, dogs, snacks and good apparel. This place beats many popular Denver beer spots. Go!

Very excited for Broken Compass! They are right by the Breck airport parking lot where I usually park for skiing so this will be a frequent apres spot for me :) I came here on a nice warm summer day so I was in the mood for a more refreshing beer… so I got the helles and the wit. Both were great and really hit the spot. My friend got the stout and I had a taste of that — great as well. The interior of the brewery is designed very well and fits the area perfectly. Some old Breck ski chairs for seating, metal lift cable for tap handles(coolest ever?!), and metal lift cable for bar foot rests. Also the beetle kill pine is gorgeous. Cant wait to come back during ski season and try out their winter brews!
