The store is under new management. Stuff is a bit pricey. Even so it is convenient. Same friendly staff. Not as many grocery items. They also have gasoline.

What more could you ask for smack dab in the middle of State Highway 69– off the I-65 exit 199 in Dodge City-than the distinctive locale that is the Bug Tussle. Maybe it’s the name, but I’m pretty sure it’s the legend that makes it a must-stop for me on my way to Smith Lake. This combination gas station-grocery store-video rental facility-restaurant used to be host to «The Challenge.» Yes, THE challenge, where a contestant had to consume a massive steak, complete with all the fixins, to earn his or her spot on the wall of fame. Sadly, the original Bug Tussle burned down years ago, and that tradition went down with the walls. Now, the bigger, warehouse style facility has a more spacious grocery section and is host to an array of colorful locals. If you need gas, a snack, or some good country sightseeing, visit the Bug Tussle– my favorite place in Bremen(ok it’s the only place, but still…)
