My husband has been a member of this gym for a number of years while I have only been a member for about a year and a half. My husband is in the military so we have access to a couple free gyms on base but he wanted to find a gym that wasn’t so crowded. We avoided going between 4−6pm because there tends to be more people(and more annoying people). I will say that I like the weight room… They have all the equipment you would need. The big downside is the cardio machines. Majority of them are old and don’t work properly or are really loud and squeaky. The stair master and Jacobs ladder are the only exceptions. Many of the treadmills can only be walked on because the higher speeds tend to skip making it difficult and dangerous to run on. Unfortunately I had to cancel our membership for a couple of reasons. My husband wanted to put the account on hold while on deployment since this was the first deployment long enough for it to make sense. I talked to one of the managers, Victor, and he was pretty rude. From the beginning of the the conversation he was treating me like I was wasting his time. He said the only reason acceptable for an account hold is for some medical reason. My husband and I decided that they don’t deserve our money for not accommodating military deployments and even more so for being rude when I had questions. The morning I went into fill out cancelation paperwork, I found out that there were a number of cancellations that morning before me. Even as I was filling out the papers, an older man who had been a member for over 8 years had asked for the music to be changed or lowered and the lady(possibly a manager) there gave him nothing but additude so he decided to fill out cancelation papers. I can understand that she was frustrated hearing a number of customers complain about the music and not being able to do anything about it because of the policies in place but she shouldn’t have taking her frustration out on the customers. She should have taken the issue to the owners or whoever her boss is. She even continued to talk under her breath that she couldn’t believe he was canceling over the music. Hopefully the managers take a few classes on customer service and learn to be more courteous. Goodbye Westcoast Fitness

I’ve been a member here for about 2 months now, and really enjoy this gym. I was surprised to read so many negative reviews on here. Here’s my take… The staff is and has always been really friendly with me since the day I walked in the door. They go out of their way to greet me, tell me to have a nice day, etc. When I came in to sign up the woman I spoke with was very nice and absolutely did NOT give me any high pressure sales tactics. She simply answered my questions and gave me a brochure with the prices. I used to be a member of snap fitness before I came in here, and what a rip off. Snap is about a quarter of the size of this gym(4 tread mills, and 3 ellipticals total) and there is never anyone on staff. I personally did not feel safe at that gym, and it was incredibly frustrating getting anyone to answer my questions when there is hardly anyone ever there. Even during«staffed hours» half the time, there is no employee to speak of. Here however, there is always someone here. I feel safer, and I know if I have any questions, I just have to ask. This gym is never really crowded, which is nice. Never had to wait for a machine. They keep the place clean. Bathrooms. locker rooms/showers, etc are always clean. I’ve witnessed staff members cleaning the bathroom, and vacuuming while i’ve been in there. They also always supply fresh towels. They have a kids club upstairs for parents who wish to bring their children along. This is a nice feature. The kids are upstairs, off the gym floor, and I don’t have to hear or deal with anyone’s kids while working out. They also sell a variety of products.(protein powders, bars, sports drinks, waters, etc.) This can come in handy if you forget to grab something to drink on you way out the door. You really can’t beat it for the price. Far cheaper than snap or any other gym in the area i looked into and a nice, big gym, with friendly staff. The ONLY reason I am not giving this a full 5 five stars is because most of the equipment is outdated and needs to be replaced. A few of the machines have been«out of order» since I joined 2 months ago, and it seems when the do fix some of them, it takes quite awhile to do so. With that said, there are a lot of cardio machines here, and it’s never posed a problem. I’ve never had to wait for a machine, or couldn’t find a working machine that i’ve wanted to use.

This is the same as the other listing; Wheaton Way is just the name for this section of 303(it’s annoying how it has multiple names). I don’t know why this was the listing that showed up when I checked in on my phone. Here’s my review, copied from the other listing: Overall I’ve been pleased with my first week here. The zumba classes are fun and a legit workout(this is coming from someone who’s ran a half marathon). They have a good variety and number of machines, though a few weight machines are so old that I can’t read the numbers on the weights. I’ve never seen the cardio machines half full even at peak hours, so that’s a big plus for me. I got the membership that was $ 23/month with a $ 0 joining fee. I was a bit annoyed that there are these random other fees, like a $ 10 membership activation fee(how is this different from the joining fee?) and another small yearly fee for«membership maintenance» or something silly like that. For parents, they have child care and monitor TVs so you can keep an eye on your kids while working out.

I used to go here a few years ago, I liked the aerobic classes that they offered. But the instructors & classes changed and then another gym opened nearby. Unfortunately there aren’t many choices in the area.
