Yonder Way Farms is a living example of what local and sustainable living is really all about. The chickens literally roam around in fields. The cows are rotated daily to different grazing areas keeping them mobile and healthy. The pigs are pasture raised and healthy outdoors stomping in mud holes and rooting about. The eggs have a dark yellow almost orange yolk and have clear albumin separation in the frying pan. On top of it all, the owners are the kindest down to earth people I have had the pleasure of meeting in quite some time. They offer family tours(they prefer to sell to individuals and not restaurants, actually re-investing in the local community) at a maximum of 25 people at a time personally guided by Jason Kramer who heads the operational aspects of the farm. I had the pleasure of going on this past Sunday’s tour and was very impressed. Their story is unique, their food is superb, and their farm is practical and simultaneously breathtaking. These guys are surely worth supporting.
