I’ve been in Embers a couple of times and was impressed with the quick greeting and the sales staff’s eagerness to help. Not every store is meant to be a warehouse of endless aisles of unnecessary product where you can never find a staff member when you need them. In this case, I’m relieved that there is a local, family run store that specializes in high quality grills, fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens. I learned that they don’t just sell the grill. They introduced me to some new cooking ideas that hadn’t crossed my mind. It actually ended up being fun! At no extra cost for this grill, they deliver it, install it, show me how it works, and make sure I know they’re available to answer my questions later on after I’ve used the grill. I thought they were fantastic!

I had a great experience working with Embers on our outdoor kitchen. Zach (one of the owners) was very helpful in the selection process. We installed an Alfresco gas grill and refrigerator. They have a great selection of grills and all the accessories. What really impressed me was that after our kitchen was installed, Zach arranged for the Alfresco sales rep to come to my house and cook a meal on the new grill. The food was excellent and I learned how to use my grill to perfection.
Tip: Get a grill that has a rotisserie. It really makes the grill more versatile and gives you the ability to cook a lot more food simultaneously. The rotisserie chicken is awesome.

This store is typical of shoppers who don’t really need to know much about BBQ or grilling, but just want to purchase some items. The staff was not helpful at all and didn’t provide any knowledge about some basic equipment. As far as the BBQ section, it appeared Big Green Egg has some sort of deal with the store because this seemed like the only item they were selling. I couldn’t find a decent smoker which is what I was looking for at the time.
The furniture and other items for elaborate outdoor kitchens was nice, but I imagine you could find a better deal elsewhere.

House call (I live 3 miles from Embers) is $ 95 for first hour. All we needed was for them to come over and show us how to turn my fire place on as we are new to this house. What a Welcome to Brentwood this was. $ 95 just to come over and show us how to use our fireplace!!! Absurd!!!

Continuing my series on fireplace store reviews, Embers is a very good store, but they only earn three stars due to the small size of the store, the prevalent «here, take a pamphlet» style salesmanship that I am getting used to in the stove shopping world. The better aspect of this store, despite their smaller size, is that they sell, or can order, some of the better brands, like Quatra-​Fire. They also have a small, but upscale selection of b-​b-​q grills, and gas heaters.
I can definitely see myself going back there to select a stove, but I was slightly dismayed when the salesman told me that installation usually does not include vent stack installation all the way up to the top of the chimney.
