Cherry picking could be fun if you are prepared to walk on uneven ground for hours under the 100+ degree sunny weather carrying a huge bucket. It was certainly more physically draining than I have imagined. Was it worth it? Probably. I had fun and the cherries were delicious. Honestly, these cherries really aren’t cheap. You can probably find better deal at local farmers’ market without have to lift a finger. I would still come here for the experience. Bring your shades and make sure you wear adequate sunscreen.

Never even got to the cherries — but the service just at the entrance was horrible. Unfriendly. Will not be back. Went next door to Heritage that’s organically sprayed and had a very nice time.

I love June! Because it means that it’s Harvest Time in Brentwood. You can tell right as you pull off the 4HWY and smell the peaches ripening in the air. Every time I go fruit picking I feel like a hamster, trying to hoard all the apples and nuts I can in any pocket I can find. If I could stuff it all into my cheeks, i would. Luckily this farm has plenty of pails and wagons to lug as much as you want around with you, although I’m not sure how my gf feels having to pull me around in 90 degree weather. They have everything here, ranier cherries, peaches, apricots, loquats, there are even artichokes growing rampantly like something from the prehistoric ages. And come July, the apples are finally ready! I definitely appreciate that there are plenty of ladders at each of the trees to help you reach the higher growing fruit. The best peaches and apples are the sun kissed ones at the top of the tree, so get a sturdy ladder(watch out I have gotten on some of the jankier ones and taken a tumble) and find the perfect one!

I can’t blame them for having not-so-sweet-cherries. I can’t blame them for not having any ladders to climb up those trees I can’t blame them for the«oh-so-cold» weather too. Sorry, I just can’t help but to take off 1 star, the cherries were really not sweet.(I know because I ate them, and went to another Cherry Farm) I’ll come back next year, hopefully you add sugar to ur water! :)

1 of the friendliest U-pick cherries place. we got there around 2pm and it was 90degrees… omg! but it was ok coz i would hide underneath the cherry trees. also, me and my daughter brought our umbrella w/us. lol they would give u this bucket when u arrive and ur off 2 go. plenty to choose from but pick the red heart-shape ones. they’re the best! we bought worth $ 15 of cherries(2.50/lb) and i think we ate(while picking) about $ 5 or probably close to $ 10 worth of cherries… lol cant even hide it coz my daughter’s shirt got red stain all over. lol but they were nice and i think they dnt even care… :) very nice experience. espcially for my daughter who was enjoying the whole time. apparently.

Lopez Ranch is super!!! Great people, off of the main road, lots of room to roam. Called the night prior at 9:30PM: someone actually answered the phone. Always call first to check availability of produce. We bought 20 pounds of U-Pick cherries @$ 2/pound(peaches were the same $). The 4 of us picked them in less than 45 minutes. There were a couple of vans from a church & families, but not the mob scene that was at the yellow stand near Walnut & Concord(which charged $ 2.50/pound for the same thing, required a release form & had a long, long, check out line). There are picnic tables & a variety of cherries, peaches & plums. Bring scissors to cut the cherries: that way they’ll stay fresher. This is a cash only farm, so be prepared! You’ll have lots of fun.
