Lopez Ranch

Opened another orchard late during cherry picking season which was a very good move for their customers. Lopez Ranch is off the main road so we consider it a hidden gem.

Just swung by today. Cherries are still plentiful! They provide baskets for picking and bags for when you check out!

Super fun. Staff was great. Kids ate so many cherries and had a great experience. Price was reasonable. Parking was great. Fresh fruit was great. I would definitely go back.

At first we thought we couldn’t find a place to pick our own fruits as a family. Then we saw across the Smith’s farm was the Lopez farm &people were strawberry picking! As this was our first time strawberry picking as family. My siblings &I had a blast. The strawberries were super sweet when we went. We are regulars now &we seem to get a box full each time. I find the to owner was nice &helpful. I recommend this place

Nice place for cherry picking. But by the time we went, looks like the cherries were finished. But still got good 8 pounds home and it was fresh for a week!

1^st time cherry and peach picking and we had amazing fun! My son enjoyed every moment of it picking up gorgeous red cherries and peaches. Staff was great, friendly and hardworking! Memorial day weekend and it was not easy to entertain families who were fussy so my hats of to them! I only had $ 10 bucks but got $ 16 worth of fruits. Thank you to the gentleman for his kind understanding! Will definitely come back again.

We went there last wednesday may 20, 2015, my mom & my baby girl 1^st time picking cherries they had so much fun picking, trees are tall enough to reach and the cherries are real sweeeet

We come to this farm every year for cherry picking. Although the cherries this year were not as good as in prior years, they still tasted ok. I think it may have been the weather or something. In any case, it has become a family tradition to come here on Memorial day weekend and pick cherries and be with family and friends. They also have peaches and even fresh eggs and even chickens for sale. Nice thing about coming here is you can go to the Brentwood Aquatic center afterwards for a nice swim, it’s only a couple miles away. THANK YOU LOPEZ RANCH FOR NEW PICNIC TABLES!

Wow, Wow, Wow.
I had the best experience here picking cherries. The trees are well taking care off and trees are short, you can just standing on the bucket and you can get all the cherries you ever wanted. All you can eat at the location, cherries are big and juicy.
Easy for parking if you come early, stuffs are very helpful and I think this is the best place for kids because the tree is not high for picking.

Good time for families. Price $ 2.5/lbs is good for the amount of free cherries you eat while picking. Plenty of cherries to go around with quite a crowd on Memorial day. They might want to put more portable toilets so the line is not too long. Overall, I’d recommend it

Just come back from here. We had a lot of fun. Our toddler had loads of fun picking cherries. The best part is that the trees are loaded and almost touching the ground with cherries, so even a baby can pick them. The ladders are available to climb in case u need to. It took us about an hour and a half to finish picking along with pics and paying. There was no queue when we went.
Didnt care bout the price as we enjoyed ourselves.
Do take care when picking u may want to put a couple in your mouth. its better to wash them before doing that (common sense) else u will be in deep trouble.
It was very very hot, so make sure u have ur sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. We planned to to to the peach farm but ended up at another one.
There are a lot of farms on walnut ave if u want to visit more than one. But being a first timer will surely come back for more next year

i came here on sunday with a group of friends. it was fun. after reading other ppl’s reviews i discovered «WHAT THEY HAD PEACHES? WHERE!!!» i was only able to see cheeries and got those for $ 2.50 a lb.
we were taking plenty of pictures and saw alot of families just picnicing. i think the next time i’m going fruit picking i’ll make a whole day of it. it was fun just picking and eating and finding the best tree to harvest off of… my whole group we got a total of 15 lbs probably. everything was great: D

The cherries here are $ 2.5 per lbs, while the peaches are $ 1 per lbs. I personally think its fun but its not really worth it pricewise at least for cherries. (the peaches on the other hand was a great deal)
However, I am not sure its because I ate too much of it while I am picking or the pesticides they use, my mouth is kinda numb and I have queasy stomach by lunch time. (Actually there is another girl with an upset stomach during this trip too, so we were pretty sure its the cherries and not something we ate previously)
Remember to bring water to wash the fruits, and the smaller bucket works a lot better. Also, most of the better cherries are far away from the entrance, hiding all the way in the back.
The parking also loops all the way around, with a tiny entrance, making it a lot harder to found. (follow the signs)

We came cherry picking here because I looked on Unilocal to see if there was a place that had rainer cherries and I found this place, but unfortunately they were not ready yet. We went ahead and picked some of their champagne cherries which weren’t quite ready… the guy running the place had said that all the good stuff was gone early the day before we went. We did get some that weren’t quite ready but they were still sweet and juicy just not as dark. The farm was big but it wasn’t as nice as the prior farm we had been to. It looks like the trees and farms weren’t taken care of as the other places because there were a lot of weeds and the trees don’t look as manicured. The cherries were going for $ 2.50 a pound.

My first experience picking cherries and peaches, and it was fun. But the Rainer and Bing cherries were not ready :(… As I really was looking forward to the Rainer cherries, so was quite disappointed.
The u-​pick cherries was $ 2.5 per lb, and u-​pick peaches was $ 0.99 per lb.
The champagne cherries was ok. They seems to sale by the lb, so it’s up to the cashier rather it’s round up or round down. If you have the guy cashier doing the weighting of your cherries, sweet talk will get round down ;) Just in our car, the difference were quite noticeable!
The peaches was specially good as ripe on the tree :)
I think if you go in June, the cherries will be better and more different type to choose from.
TIPS: bring a water spray bottle, so you can clean the cherries to eat while u pick :)

The experience of picking cherries is very fun. I love how you can try the cherries to see if they are sweet enough. I must have eaten several pounds of cherries during the picking.
I went to this ranch back in 2007 to pick cherries, and the cherries were big and sweet. I was quite disappointed when I visited this farm this year. For some reason, the cherries were not as good as I remembered. In addition, it seemed like there were less cherry trees. They must have chopped down a lot of cherry trees. There weren’t a lot of rainer cherries either. Such a disappointment.
The price is much cheaper than the grocery store. You can’t beat the price of $ 2 per pound!
Don’t forget to bring cash to pay for the cherries.

Two years in a row we’ve come to this cherry farm and the selection is great. Utah Giants, Ranier, Sweet Anne, you name it, they’ve got it. This year, the cherries seemed a bit small but that might be an environmental thing and not this farm. $ 2/​lb. Huge farm to pick from. Easy parking.

Cherry, cherry, cherry! That was why we came here for. After getting a nice advice at Bacchini’s (see my review), we stopped by at Lopez for some cherries. One thing that we learned this time was that if we want cherries, we gotta come to Brentwood by the memorial day weekend. We went there a weekend after the memorial day weekend. But, luckily, at Lopez, we still found lots of them.
At $ 2/​lb, I think that it was a great deal. We got 9lb total. On our way back, we stopped at Safeway in the area for a bio-​break, and saw that they were selling the bing cherries for $ 2.99/lb with the Safeway membership card, and without it, $ 6.99/lb. For white rainier cherries, $ 9.99/lb no discount even with the membership card. (I didn’t know that they still require that for people to get the discounts. Many supermarkets don’t have them anymore as far as I know.)
Back in South Bay, we found bing and rainier cherries at a local supermarket for around $ 1.50/lb, but they didn’t look as fresh as the ones we got at Lopez.
With all the fun you get at the farm picking fruits, and munching them as much as you want while doing so, I think it was a great bargain. Just be careful, when you are on a ladder, and don’t climb on trees.

A group of us came here today for some cherry picking. It’s about an hour or so from the Peninsula, and it gets really trafficky right near the ranch because of the 1 lane roads and very dinky traffic lights.
There’s no minimum purchase here which I appreciate. Today when we went, it was $ 2/​lb. That’s not particularly cheap, but you’d be hard pressed to find anything cheaper than that lately. The cherries here are pretty good. They had the white/​yellow ones, red ones, and darker ones. If I were more well-​versed in cherry terminology, I could tell you the official names… I think Rainier and Bing are among them, but don’t take my word for it.
Eating cherries inside the orchard is a free-​for-​all, and then they weigh them all when you exit. The guy in front of me bought 25 pounds of cherries! Geez Louise… I walked away happy with my meager 3 lbs.
