I looked for«Korean Food» in Brentwood and this placed popped up «Hot & New»! I give this 5 star review because compared to any other korean option around Brentwood/Antioch,(I.E., none), this one is the best. I ordered the rice plate, white rice with all cooked veggies, spicy pork, extra kimchi(wasn’t charged extra), fried egg, and both the BBQ sauce and the spicy kick sauce. For a little over 9 dollars, this is an amazing value for the amount of food you get. Plus, the food was DELICIOUS! A lot of reviews are complaining the spicy isn’t spicy enough. I think the flavors are perfectly balanced, and yes, the spicy may not have been burn your mouth spicy, but it could easily meld to most palates. Which is what a business should consider. The service was great, I can’t remember the woman’s name but she was absolutely delightful. Was easy to talk to and was also quick. All in all, an amazing experience. 2 thumbs up.

This place is super cool! If your watching your weight and love vegetables come to this place you pick your own meat, rice and veggies. There is no limit on the veggies(they don’t advertise that part). I really liked the tofu and make sure to add a sauce on top at the end!

It’s a fast food Korean Resto in Brentwood, first thing you need to do is make a choice of your base(white, brown rice or lettuce), then your choice of protein, bulgogi beef, spicy pork, grilled chicken or tofu, after that you have a choice of cooked veggies or raw veggies(raw veggies were fresh and crunchy) and last but not least, your choice of sauce, Korean BBQ sauce, spicy kick, sweet n sour or cilantro lime, and yes you can also add some eggs(extra) to your order. I see potential here to have a good Korean food in Brentwood, I understand why the kimchi is bland(it’s simply that many Americans find it too spicy at its best) or why the spicy pork isn’t that spicy(but Yes I still enjoyed my food) but hopefully maybe the owner can make some adjustment and put some kick into the kimchee, I want profuse sweating when I eat my kimchee! lol hey that’s me, the food is good, service is excellent, one might say the price is a little pricey but I’ll still come back here. Plus the containers are fully microwavable so don’t forget to take it home ;-) it makes a perfect work food container

Service: friendly Portions: perfect Food: tasty Menu: Select rice(white/brown) or lettuce, then select your protein(korean beef, spicy pork, bbq chicken or tofu), then all n any veggie addition + Kim chee(how cool is that), top it off with special sauces - Taste: Delicious Prices: less than $ 10 for a big bowl of rice, meat n veggies How many stars does that add up to? Will I go back? definitely.

Finally got a chance to check out this is a new restaurant in Brentwood. Had this bookmarked for about a week and the anticipation was killing me. This is a new Korean restaurant with a knife exciting twist. Get this… It’s a Korean chipotle. As we walked in we see the menu titled with the following: Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, and Step 4. Really simple and straight forward. For about under $ 8 you get a nice big bowl filled with food! We ordered two bowls. BOWL1: White rice, spicy pork/braised tofu, grilled veggies and the sauce was good stuff with spicy kick. BOWL2: White rice, grilled chicken/braised tofu, grilled veggies with the spicy kick sauce. Overall the food was great, tasty and full of flavor. However I wish the food tasted a bit more fresh. We felt like the food had been sitting their for a while and some of the roasted veggies tasted a bit watered down with out the sauces. But it is a really cool restaurant with a great concept. Hopefully they become more popular and have more fresh food later on.

The Korean beef I had was really good. They had two different types of sauce is that my wife and I tried one with spicy when was the secret sauce I look forward to trying the third type of sauce. My wife had the spicy pork and some vegetables that was also very good. The hot sauce they have is subtle but then it sneaks up on you & smacks you upside the head, not too strong unless you add more. I look fowrd to trying the lime cilantro sauce. I witnessed the lady who I believe is the owner wash her hands several times between helping customers as a former health inspector I love that. The staff was very friendly my wife and I will be returning.

Nice idea. This is like a Korean chipotle. If you like chipotle bowls and you like Korean food you will probably like this. The end result makes me think of a customized bibimbop. I like the to go bowl with lid that it comes in because I couldn’t finish. Server was very nice. Wish they put more meat but i think you can add extra for under a couple bucks.

Not sure why this place has such great reviews. There is not many cooked veggies to pick from. The special Korean BBQ sauce was just a ginger based sauce you would get at tepanyaki. ALL the tables were dirty and needed to be wiped down but it wasn’t busy. Two people 30.00 with drinks for a scoop of rice, and pre cooked shaved beef, been sprouts and onions. Won’t do that twice. The girl at the counter was nice.

First time here and pretty happy. What this area needs. Good price for a good amount of food. They are super friendly inside and that’s a plus. Had the spicy pork and fried egg with the Korean BBQ and I was very satisfied. I will be a repeat customer

Had the opportunity to eat at Mix it up, a few days ago after visiting the area to do some shopping. It’s a really small shop, almost like a chipotle for Korean Bibimbap style bowls. You basically, get to choose a base(white or brown rice or lettuce) a protein and as many veggie toppings as you like, followed by a sauce. You can also add a fried egg, all for under $ 10 a bowl! My hubby and I decided to get a bowl with jasmine rice, Bulgogi beef, fried egg and various veggies and the house sauce. It was actually delicious and quite filling. My own wish was there there would have been more Korean pickled veggies but I understand that they have to cater to the mostly non asian population here. Before leaving, we had a nice conversation with, Christine, one of the owners and told her we were from SF but recently moved to Concord due to ridiculous housing prices and rents there. She and her family were also forced out of their area for the same reason and decide to open up a mom and pop shop here, offering, Korean food for less, given that there weren’t many asian food options available in the area, other than chains such as Panda Express. They also offer house made drinks, including milk tea and freshly brewed teas. It’s too bad they don’t carry boba anymore, as the many non asians here seem to think that freshly brewed tea, that is actually authentic, was not as good as the powdered crap that chains like Quickly’s carries, so they ended up having stop making it. I hope to help them change that, though! ;) Anyway, if you live in the area or happen to be visiting and want some tasty, inexpensive and filling options that aren’t from a chain, please give Mix it Up a try and help support a local, small business! :)

Brentwood/Antioch area has been starved of Korean food! I’m so happy this has opened so close to home. You get a gigantic bowl of food for only $ 8 added couple dollars if you want a fried egg on top. To me this is worth it for what you get. It’s the perfect place to do a quick drop-in for something to-go. The bowls they give you are reusable and microwaveable safe, so you can buy this for lunch at work the next day. Or even stock up on it to eat throughout the week! And given the option to choose what goes into this bowl is the kicker. I love getting creative with my food and having some say in what goes into the creation! They have a variety of meats, cooked vegetables, raw vegetables, and sauces.

It’s like a chipotle of Korean BBQ. U walk in and u pick what goes in ur rice bowl quick and easy concept. Good: the portions are huge! A lot of bang for ur buck! The customer service was amazing super friendly and the lady walked us through all the ingredients. Bad: since its concept is similar to chipotle the food was already cooked it doesn’t come out very hot! It was luke warm and wish I could have microwaved it.

Walked in, looked at pre cooked meat and vegetables that looked like they were sitting there for hours. Walked out. Great idea, needs improvement. Then today some asshole named Edro sends me a message asking if I ever give good reviews, then blocks me from replying to him. Chicken shit. Btw I have given good reviews to good restaurants like Caps or Scotties.

We discovered this gem last weekend and I’ve already been back once and am day dreaming about the next combination I’ll try. The meats and sauces are flavorful, the veggies are cooked perfectly, and the staff is very friendly. The first time we went I had their chicken on rice with all the cooked veggies and a mix of the house & spicy kick sauce. My husband had the chicken on lettuce with the lime sauce. Both were delicious and left me wanting more. So I returned. My second visit I had the beef on lettuce with all the veggies and the same addicting sauces. The girl behind the counter was very obliging and even gave me a small side of rice that I requested. My husband wanted to try their potstickers so I got an order of those as well. I felt like the food was even better the second time. The beef is perfectly seasoned and tastes exactly like the definition of Korean bbq. I will definitely be returning, and often!

Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not a salad restaurant. This is a Korean fusion restaurant. Build a Korean bowl your way. Add only the items you want. Mix and match different ways every time you come in to create your own different experience. The food is good. The proteins are tasteful and the veggies are fresh. The sauces tasted authentic as well with their own interpretation. Customer service was awesome! How does it work? Step 1 — pick your base.(White rice, brown rice, or romaine lettuce Step 2 — pick a protein(meat or tofu) **add an egg for $ 1 extra; well worth it** Step 3 — pick your veggies, grilled and cold/raw(carrots, cucumber, etc) Step 4 — pick a sauce Step 5 — any extras? Potstickers? Or??? Finally, ENJOY!

There is so much potential but sad that it missed its mark. The meat was cheap cuts, not prepped very well. Veggies were cooked and steamed to death. The raw vegetable portions are very sparse. Kimchee was bland. They needed a lot more sauce on it. Employees were friendly. Not worth the price at all. Most disappointing meal we’ve had in a long time.

This place opened a couple of weeks ago and I’ve already had four meals from there!!! It is my new fav in town! I highly recommend the bulgogi beef! Whatever you get, order the really good sauce! She makes it fresh from scratch everyday!!! She also makes her own kimchi which is truly amazing. Her milk tea is fresh and from scratch but I haven’t yet to try it. I was shocked that both of my fussy kids like this place!!! They like that they control everything that goes into the bowl. The portions are oversized. I am a big water yet I haven’t yet to pass the 2⁄3 mark.
