This is a Chinese place. Do not get soul food from here. The mac and cheese should be called elbow noodles with vague, yellow coating. The potato salad was awful. Stick to the Chinese side if the menu. Two stars only because the Chinese food is decent.

I had the rib sandwich meal with baked beans and a cola, and I thought it was pretty good. I am actually taking my wife there tonight, to make up for me going on lunch without her. Most of the garbage you get around DC has great reviews and it cost $ 20-$ 30 for a to go meal for 1 person, and there is nothing special about it. This place was $ 10.20 for my order and it was pretty tasty and filled me up.

I was only in it for the ribs :) — This has, as others have noted, become an all-purpose urban carryout — wings, ribs, chinese, etc. Nonetheless, the ribs were tasty to me, with a choice of mild, medium or hot sauce. $ 11/half slab; $ 21/slab. Downside? Mainly that the ribs aren’t saturated in the sauce, the sauce is on the side. I like it when the ribs live in that sauce. Marinated for the last part of cooking in it. The ambience is pure urban carryout — seating for maybe 4 at a counter, bullet-proof plexiglass you order through, and get your meal through, Shabby, as is way too common here in my neighborhood, but if the food were excellent I would be ok with that.

Disgusting!!! If I could give a zero I would. First of all the place stinks and the food stinks. As soon as I walked into the place I needed to run out and gasp for air. Was really in the mood for BBQ and figured let’s order half a slab, maybe the bad smell was from the Chinese food. I got cornbread, baked beans and potato salad to go with the ribs. The cornbread was tiny, not fresh, cold and wrapped in plastic. I just threw that out. The beans tasted too sweet and oily and the potato salad was ok but did not taste fresh. Now the ribs. First of all the lady forgot to include BBQ sauce, even though she was selling BBQ ribs. I had some BBQ sauce at home which I used. Now the ribs were utterly disgusting! They were tough and had a horrible after taste. I wanted to puke after my first bite. Needless to say I am never stepping foot in there again!

I placed an order online. I showed up 25 min after placing the order and the restaurant didn’t start my order. I had to wait 20 min for it to be ready. I ordered the shrimp platter with fries and homemade cake. The shrimp platter was decent, but what made it really good was the tarter sauce! The cake was lemon flavored with icing. It was good,

Had the ribs, mac n cheese, baked beans and iced tea. The ribs came with the sauce separate, which I liked because everything was well packaged when delivered. The mac n cheese wasn’t very cheesy. In fact it tasted like Kraft with less salt. Disappointed I spent $ 6 on it. The baked beans were good. The iced tea was also good, not too strong. Overall I am happy with my experience. When calling in to check the status of my order, I had difficulty understanding the person on the line(first time this has ever happened to me), they had a very thick accent. But that wasn’t a real issue for me. I was just embarrassed to ask for so many repetitions. I took off a star for the mac n cheese. Add real cheese!

Okay the first time I went was back in 2010 I believe this location had just opened and I got some Ribs they were really good. I went back earlier this year and new management has taken over as it’s now more like a chinese carryout as well. I’ll just stick with what I know THERIBS and they taste just as tasty as they did previously so they must have the same cooks atleast for that portion of the menu.
