Had the Chicken and Bacon sandwich, and it was huge and tasty. I ate half and saved the other half. The owner was a really nice guy and down to earth. I’ll try the coffee next time.

Excellent food, excellent coffee, and excellent service. The baristas, as well as the owner, Sam, makes you feel as if you were at home. I recommend the chicken malibu if you want to get a feel for how their food’s quality is like. The environment is clean, quiet, and easing.

Everyone needs to give this place a try. The owner is a lovely person and he makes a lot of high quality food for cheap. It’s always good to try new things! c: The place has a nice, home-like feeling inside. The art on the walls are done nicely and it’s all around a nice place to chill. So, if you’re looking for a place to just hang out and have a nice cup of coffee at, I recommend it.

Hidden gem nestled in downtown Brentwood. Awesome coffee, yummy food choices, good vibe, and outdoor seating which is always a plus. Lukas is a great barista, and if you’re lucky– he’ll bring out his guitar during your visit. Support your local businesses!

I’m back and they’re better. Lucas just made me a killer breakfast sandwich and hit me with the high octane coffee I requested. I paid half of what a chain would have charged me for a hot, fresh and tasty breakfast.

Went with a friend in search of a good local made sandwhich. The coffee was okay, the sandwhiches contained too much mayonaise for my liking. We sat outside, nice little seating area. Some guys were smoking hookah in the back corner and we had the option of choosing which music videos we could watch. The coffee was good. My friend ordered a blended drink and it tasted like pure sugar, which can be good or bad. She had a breakfast sandwhich, but the microwave eggs and American cheese were un satisfying.

Very delicious white mocha!!! Was a little hard to find, but after a second loop around the block we found it. Next to the corner of second and maple, if your not paying attention you’ll miss it. The man that helped us was very nice and welcoming. Go support your local coffee shop and try this one out. :)

I visited the Brentwood location. I ordered a soy latte to do some studying until the library opened. The soy latte was fine… Nothing to «wow» me… However, the shop smells like bacon and is oddly decorated. I noticed a mural on the wall that is peeling. There is very little seating space and there was NOWIFI. Coffee shops are a balance of food and environment… This one lacks on the environment for sure. This feels like a beach setting where nothing is super nice but it’s ok because it’s at the beach… Except it doesn’t fit because you’re actually not at the beach… You’re in a middle class land-locked city next to the city hall and a high school. I’m surprised that there is no website for this coffee shop.

Cute spot in downtown brentwood. Came here with my sister after strolling around the farmers market today. We ordered a Carmel frapachino and a blueberry scone. Both were great :) my sister said it was better then Starbucks and I have to agree with her. Also the manger was very nice and welcoming. We will defiantly come by again when in the area.

I went here on a Saturday morning to get some breakfast before heading out to downtown Brentwood’s farmer’s market. The place itself is conveniently located right across from the City Hall and it has street parking! The interior is kind of funky in that I felt like it was a kid’s jungle in there because you had the animal seating and the jungle themed wall, and it just didn’t have anything to do with the coffee place! I got a café au lait, a danish pastry and a sandwich. The café au lait was PHENOMENAL! You know how when you get coffee with milk but no creamer or sugar whatsoever and it has that bitter after taste? Well the café au lait here did NOT have that bitter after taste that typical coffee has! I love the fact that I can drink aftertasteless coffee! Also, the sandwich, for its price, is HUMONGOUS! For $ 6 a sub, it could’ve fed a family! So make sure to come here hungry! The danish pastry was so-and-so, just because it didn’t really taste fresh. I love my danish pastries, but I love them fresh, so it was kind of a bummer. The service that this place is just great. I think this establishment is run by a family because you had the dad running the place, his son helping out and his younger son just being a cute little kid! I have a thing for family-run establishments because you get that feel-at-home, welcoming vibe right from the get-go, which is incredibly desirable and makes you want to stay and come back to the place. So really, kudos for family-run establishments that promote other local establishments. I do hope that this café stays in the long-run and that more people come here to support it because we need more places like these in the area!

Cute little place. While on my way to an appointment nearby, I decided to stop in here to get a little pick me up. The place has a very mom and pop kind of feel. Small, but cute. I ordered a small cup of coffee to go. The service was very sincere and friendly. The coffee was pretty good. And seemed to had been on the stronger side… just how I prefer it :) None of the pastries on display looked tempting, though they seem to have a decent selection of sandwiches and salad’s provided on their menu, that I may just be curious to try on my next visit out.

It’s all about the little things and the little places like this that just really make life better in all the right little ways! There’s not much out there in Brentwood. We were ready to embark on a day in the orchards but needed a little pick-me-up along the way. Unilocal directed us to this tiny little café tucked behind some larger buildings. Funky jungle scenery with monkeys and bananas covered the walls, animal butt stools, strange things sitting on the rafters. Apparently this place used to be… well, we don’t really know exactly but What A Grind has luckily taken up in its stead. The owner was friendly, conversational, and patient as the gaggle of us hmmed and haa-ed over the menu, went to the bathrooms, poked at the décor. They have everything from coffee to smoothies to pastries and other things. The coffee here is good. The soy milk they use is sooo good, but I forgot the brand! You know how usually they charge for making something soy? Well, I asked for my iced coffee with soy milk and the owner just handed over the entire carton with a smile and a ‘help yourself’. And then what really really sold me was that they use COFFEEICECUBES as to not dilute the rest of it. The little details, people!!! Love it. The one sad thing is that their smoothies, while made from fresh fruit, are made from pre-packaged fresh-fruit. I had hoped with all the abundance of produce farms in the vicinity, the fruit would be locally sourced and fresh but alas. Anyway, definitely drop by for a little pit stop if you’re in the area! May your day be just a little better :)
