There is two beautiful water falls coming together. The falls were supposedly named for a Native American princess named«Connestee» in 1882 by Dr. F. A. Miles, owner of the Caesar’s Head Hotel. A legend is told that the princess lost her life at the falls due to a relationship with an Englishman.

There are many waterfalls around here. This Transylvania County Park system one is very dramatic and a very easy walk to see. There are no stairs and no changes in elevation. There is a very well constructed walkway to view the falls. It is level and short. If you have anyone with any gait problems or knee issues, go here. The falls are spectacular. The park is only about 6 miles out of Brevard. The park sign is small and easy to miss when driving. If you get to a large sign that says Connestee Falls, you have gone too far. Yeah, sounds funny, but that is a subdivision. Coming from Brevard on 276 you will see an advertisement sign for a computer place. There is your turn into the parking lot.
