Cafe Alfresco

This is one of my favourite places from the Cape to have breakfast. Tasty food, at the correct price.
It has a great atmosphere and it brightens my mornings. I would highly recommend this to a friend!

This Café is the best kept secret in Brewster. I am hooked on the tuna alfresco and the scallop BLT is sublime. Great coffee and great pastry and Gene really knows how to combine flavors.
Don’t miss breakfast or lunch here while you are in Brewster! The shops in the Lemon Tree Plaza are pretty great too.

It’s been a couple of years since I have been here but it’s still awesome! The food is amazing, I jade chicken wings, husband had fish and din had the hamburger. Everything is so fresh and tasty. The people here are so nice, it must be family owned because it’s the same people as a couple of years ago.

Ordered the German Hot dog — Served on a non toasted bun, the dog was not grilled but steamed or boiled and the saurekraut was canned with no seasonings whatsoever. I could have made this at home. By the time I was halfway through eating it, the whole thing was soggy. Will not order again!

This was my first visit, and the batter is SUPER salty! I was excited to try their squash blossom panini, but it was too salty to eat.

Arrived at café at 11:23 am. Breakfast menu said breakfast until 11 and lunch starts at 11:30. Had teenage girls with me (one with allergies) who asked if she could have a scrambled egg with bacon on a bagel. Unfriendly cashier said breakfast is over the kitchen is switching to lunch. She opted for a lunch item. We took a seat in the dining room at a table. A family of 4 arrived after 11:30. They appeared to locals/​regulars since the entire staff knew them. The cashier came to our table with our food and plopped it in front of us. We ate and as we were leaving we walked over to garbage and the family was sitting near the garbage. They were all eating eggs. WTF? is it that difficult to scramble an egg? If you are making exceptions for locals make sure they are taking their order to go.

This establishment has no regard for your time. Lunch doesn’t start until 11:30 but they said they’d make me up a couple of cold sandwiches to take to the beach. There were no other orders before me so after ten min I asked the staff to check on my order. I could see five people in the kitchen milling around, none making sandwiches. At 15 min, I asked the to see who was making the sandwiches but no one was. I had to insist they fill my order! they need to warn you of the wait time before they take your money!

My family and I were visiting our relative who resides in Brewster, and went here for lunch one day, and then breakfast the following day. The staff was super friendly and informative, lunch was solid, but I have to say that the breakfast sandwiches here are some of the best I’ve ever had. My kids and I had egg sandwiches which were put together perfectly — great bread, good portions, and the execution was perfect — not greasy, just fresh and tasty. They hit the nail on the head with an all around great bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I saw other items going out with the servers which looked really appealing as well. It was a busy week for vacationers on the Cape, and volume was steady here, and the wait was not long at all.

We arrived at 10:55 only to learn that they stopped serving breakfast and would not be serving lunch until 11:30. We promptly left to go to JoMamma’s.

If you want to wait, this is the place. Put in your order and take a nap. They seem to have enough people in the back but they only move at one speed. S.L.O.W

One of my favorite places for breakfast! Always good but not to big. Have wifi but bathroom not in same building so need to walk a bit.
Mostly a coffee type with sandwiches etc up through 4 pm.

Food and staff are great I go here all winter usually for lunch and get a sandwhich I love the falafel and al lithe coffee and lattes are good as well good for a quick bite or to sit and hang out on a cold winter day on the cape

I have a different take on this place
Here on Sunday morning. Other places in vacinity too crowded for breakfast even in the off season. Have not been here in sometime so decided to try it.
The hallmark of a good restaurant is management and concern for the customer. Certainly this sunday, this restaurant failed miserably though judging from the manager’s responses and other reviews, they will not give a whit about our disappointment. We do live here but will never come back.
Arrived at 10:55 AM. Breakfast posted until 11AM. The individual behind the counter who I find was also the manager let individuals jump in front of us. Since they were from the UK, wish them well and hope they enjoy their stay. But, when our turn came, slightly after 11AM with the kitchen still delivering breakfast to other people, we were told the kitchen closes at 10:30 and the sign was in error.
Really! Could not find that sign but if it was closing at 10:30, remove the 11AM posting. She cared not at all. We walked out and went to Jo Mama’s which was okay.
As noted, I am sure Café Alfresco will survive our negative review. But, let it be known that indifferent young people are not engendering warm feeling from older local customers and eventually, it will become problematic.

The WORST latte I have ever had. The restaurant is cutting the milk with at least half water or using powdered milk. The espresso certainly was nowhere close to espresso. I don’t know what that was. They made us a second to try to make it right but the ingredients are bad.
DON’T CALL YOURSELF A COFFEE SHOP FOR CHRISSAKES!!!

Apologies, but you can’t have a sign up touting an «espresso bar» when the coffee is this terrible. Perhaps it was an off day, but I grabbed a much-​needed latte five minutes after the doors opened and it was downright dreadful. It was as if someone poured me a cup of Folgers and then blew bubbles in it with a straw. Just like that. I choked down a ¹⁄₃ and then just gave up.

Great little breakfast and lunch place that we happened to stumble upon recently. Nice and friendly wait staff. They have a large assortment of coffees and pastries as well as breakfast favorites and sandwiches that you could sink your teeth into! My wife had a BLT with a stack of bacon and very fresh tomatoes. My sons of buffalo chicken sandwich was one of the best he has ever had and I had a generous portion of egg salad on my sandwich lettuce and tomato that really hit the spot!
I Would go back again and if you are in the area I would recommend it!

Located next to a small, but beautiful outdoor shopping area. Nice luncheon type of atmosphere. Nice varied menu. Young, friendly, relaxed staff.
Coffee was amazing. Paninis, though not real paninis but really toasted sandwiches, were terrific. Soup and seafood terrific. Fries good. Service is a bit slow, but there is a sign warning of this at the register. Definitely will be back.
*Wish there were recycle bins.

Just a wonderful stop late last summer and I am surprised I never did a review then for it, but all was really superb. Coffee was outstanding and quite fresh and I couldn’t say enough for the sandwich I had. This spot is just perfect for the area amidst superb shopping.

Very friendly atmosphere. The sandwiches and burgers are great. Worth a stop on the Cape for breakfast or lunch.
