Emerald Hollow Farm

My daughter is learning to ride at this wonderful, family-​owned farm. This is a great place for a novice to get a solid foundation on reliable lesson horses. Nicki, the licensed instructor, is thoughtful and careful about both the needs of the student and the horse. She is sensitive to the changing needs of a child rider as they advance and grow and even the moods that they may be in and tailors the lesson to get maximum learning and enjoyment for the student. This is not a flashy show barn, although it will provide your child with the technique needed to show well in the future. This is a place to learn correct riding practices from day one that will allow your child to go in whatever direction they choose. I highly recommend this barn and feel fortunate that we found them! My daughter is well prepared for each new riding challenge and best of all, she is really loving it. If you are thinking of springing for riding lessons for your child or even yourself, I highly recommend this barn.

Great place to take a trail ride on Cape Cod. I took my two young children who have no riding experience on a one hour trail ride today and they were great to take us around the conservation land in Brewster for an hour for $ 75 a person. They gave them appropriate sized and well behaved horses. The owner Nancy and her daughter Nicole actually led the kids on leads for part of the walk when they were uncomfortable on their own. When my 8 year old daughter got spooked on her horse for a second when he started to trot into the woods (the horse behind him came up a bit to quickly), Nicole was quick to ease the anxiety of my daughter and make her feel like she was a superstar. Emerald Hollow Farm is well run and the people are super nice. A great side adventure for any visitor or local Cape Codder!
