Great food and great traditional Chinese dining experience. The server brings you a kettle of tea and some water which is never empty. The décor is a little outdated but that’s what makes this place interesting and unique. The food is excellent to say the least! The portions are gigantic and there is more than enough to take home to enjoy the next day for dinner. The prices are reasonable for what you get from this place. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Brick, hand down!

Being 100% Chinese I’ll tell you this is about as authentic as Jewish Porkroll! We had 4 servings of DimSum which was fried and not steamed. The shui MI was just pork stuffing with an overcooked noodle. Asked for Chinese spinach and the waiter confirmed it was chinese spinach from China town. Wrong again. Also ordered pork noodle soup which was very bland. Save this place for the Americans who don’t know any better. I won’t be back

I post two stars because my girlfriend enjoyed her sweet and sour chicken, but my General tsos chicken literally tasted like burnt popcorn. Don’t know why anyone would get their Chinese there when there’s a million better places within a couple miles distance!

My goodness, I was disappointed far more than expected after wanting to try this place for years but never getting around to it(mostly since they don’t deliver 5 miles away). To be frank, service was attentive but the food itself is far from being good. It’s not bottom of the barrel Chinese food but it’s close. I feel like the quality of the meats used can make or break a Chinese restaurant: the quality here is low, no ifs ands or buts about that. With the assorted meats platter of duck, chicken, and pork it was blatant that these were the cheapest parts of each animal. The chicken was wrought with far too many bones(I guess only Spanish restaurants can pull that off properly with plentiful meat), the duck suffered the same issue plus one had to really dig for meat, and the pork was the fattiest I’ve seen in my life: more than half of each piece was all fat. All told I left hungry with a cluttered plate. This would’ve been a fine dish if it wasn’t for the incredibly cheap cuts of meat used in it. Combinations don’t come with soup, as they should for the price. Although nobody I know liked this place. Scallion pancakes are fine but nowhere near as decadent as Sentosa’s: they’re too crispy and doughy here. I’d agree the sauces are far too sugary to top it off. Was going to give it two stars but am deducting a star for the bug in my drink. Brick ranking: a bit better than Sultan Wok but far below my top Chinese choices in Brick.

This is one of the few time I wish there were negative stars. We picked up take out with 5 appetizers and two entrees. Everything was bland and horrible. With a name of dim sum, you would think they could get the dumplings right. They were the worst, glutinous and tasteless. They also have a glass window in the kitchen, as we were paying we noticed one of the cooks drop food on the floor, pick it up and put it in the carton. Should have walked out then and gotten a pizza. Still searching for a decent Chinese restaurant in the area.

My family and I love Dim Sum. We’ve been faithful customers since 2001 and we absolutely love it. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. We come here so often that the staff already knows our order. If we hadn’t moved out of state, we would still be customers. I don’t know how there are bad reviews here but disregard them. Dim Sum would be the only reason why I’d move back to NJ.

This is the real deal for authentic Chinese cuisine!!! Dim Sum also has the touristy dishes like chow mien, etc. but they specialize in the full range of appetizers(dim sum in Chinese and scallion pancakes is one of my favorites, yummmmm). For authentic Chinese dishes, their Hot and Sour soup is a good starting place then on the Ginger Chicken, Beef with Scallions and Garlic Sauce, Broccoli with Garlic Sauce(an amazing way to get the veggies you need for good health!!!), etc… I love this place and have enjoyed hundreds of meals there, so ENJOY! I lived in Japan for 18 months and Thailand for 10 months and therefore I know the real deal when I taste it!!!

Only uptight people would down rate this restaurant. This is a GENUINE Chinese restaurant. If you have a problem with accents, young children walking/playing around, Chinese music, and a semi-loud kitchen then you will have a hard time eating here. I love the staff, the environment, everything. Sure, it might look cheesy and outdated but it’s family run and if you become a kind regular they will treat you like family and you will come to see them as family. Best Chinese food I have ever had though it has its strengths and faults. I do not recommend the Lo Mein and the general tso’s chicken is alright. The scallion pancakes are out of this world! I love the hot and sour soup, Chinese tea, beef with scallions in garlic sauce, brocolli in garlic sauce, sweet and sour chicken, and ginger chicken. MMMM. Delicious. Love love love this place, so much. Shame on the people who give this place low reviews. I think those people are expecting a modern, «strict» place. This place is as family as family gets.

The food is good… some things are really bad, while others are good and a select few, like the pork rolls, are really great. The restaurant itself is average, with ok décor and good service.

A distinctly average«Americanized» Chinese food joint. Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to try some of the best Chinese food that NJ has had to offer — everywhere from super authentic restaurants that serve the infamous«stinky tofu», to dim sum joints, and plenty of standard Chinese places. Discovering this place when I moved into the area some 7+ years ago, I was excited to try the food. «A dim sum place, right down the street? Finally, some decent authentic Chinese food in the area!», I gleefully exclaimed to myself, my head filling with thoughts of various cartfulls of dumplings for me to choose from. When I arrived, however. I had the sad realization that this was in fact a regular Chinese restaurant, and not a dim sum joint like I had originally thought. Oh well, I’ll give it a shot anyway. While the food wasn’t really bad, it wasn’t anything special either. I’ve given it a few chances over the years, but they’ve never really«wowed» me. The sauces were usually too sweet, the spicy dishes generally had no heat whatsoever, and the soups have been very hit or miss. Maybe I’m just spoiled by the authentic food I’ve had. There’s a bunch of better places in the area, like Sentosa down the street, Peking 88, or Liu’s Kitchen. I guess if super Americanized Chinese food with thick sugary sauces is your thing, Dim Sum is right up your alley. I’m still a little miffed that this isn’t even an actual Dim Sum type of restaurant.

Entirely unauthentic, Americanized food. I think the easiest thing to do is list the run-down of our order: — Wonton soup: The broth was oily and had no flavor. The wontons were tough & dry. — Pork bun: Decent, but not enough to bring me back to the restaurant. — Scallion pancake: The first time I’ve ever seen a deep-fried scallion pancake(usually they’re pan-fried). It was tough, chewy, and bland. The sauce that came with it was okay, but way too salty. — Chicken in Garlic Sauce: Sickeningly sweet and incredibly greasy. The only distinguishable flavors were sugar and salt. — Pork Fried Rice: Super dry and inedible. This is definitely a takeout menu I’ll be losing ASAP.

Skip this joint, drive to Wonder Seafood in Edison for authentic Dim Sum and Chinese, you’ll be glad you did.

Best chinese food in the area — everything tastes great, seriously. You get a free small wonton soup for takeout orders over $ 15, which we LOVE. And talk about fast service, when we get takeout, even if we order about 20 items, it takes 10 minutes. Everything you order takes 10 minutes — is that a good thing or suspicious? Who cares? Fast service, good food, good price, friendly staff — I mean are you looking for an authentic gourmet chinese food here? I didn’t find the décor to be horrible, it was typical and relatively clean, but seriously how many people dine in for chinese food? This is takeout food people, take it home and enjoy in front of the tv. If you want to go out for real chinese food, hit up chinatown in new york.

Oily food, gross décor, odd service that included the unwelcome presence of a very large, unattended toddler at our table. It was the first restaurant I tried when I moved to Brick and I haven’t been back since.

More like… Dim YUM. Seriously the best Chinese Food you’re going to find around Brick. The delivery is quick, the prices are fair, and the food is good. I am one of those people who will judge a Chinese place based on their chicken wings. Is there enough breading? Are they fried hard n’ shit? These are good. The owner is semi-obsessed with his fish tank, so if you stop in make sure you comment on it. He will appreciate it. Also, don’t be surprised if one of his kids comes up and asks you questions. They are adorable and trained not to try and eat off your plate. Visit. You’ll see.
