Almost Heaven Desserts

The desserts and coffee are really great. However, their wifi is sporadic at best and the café is a bit noisy due to the dance studio above the café. I highly recommend the desserts (cheesecake is to die for) but cant say Id recommend sitting in the café for a nice chat or for computer work.

One star because I can’t pick zero. My wife ordered a cake for pickup yesterday. When she arrived today to pick up said cake «Uh we didn’t make it» — WTH? They did offer to make it and pick it up later, but we needed it at the time we requested. Ended up getting a cheesecake with a whopping 10% discount. Lesson learned and I will definitely make it known this is the type of customer service they provide to all my friends and coworkers.

I came here for breakfast because the breakfast that my hotel offered was lack luster. The server was quick to greet me and quite patient as I perused the chalkboard menus. My blueberry muffin was huge and delicious. My chai latte was ok, but I’ve had better. Perhaps had it been hot rather than lukewarm I would have been more impressed. What is impressive is the variety of cheesecake on display. This IS the place to come for dessert. I’m looking forward to trying their paninis and the cranberry walnut salad. Ambiance is nice and relaxing. The music was enjoyable and not blaring.

Almost Heaven is Heaven! When I travel west from DC I always work my drive to come through Bridgeport and stop for an amazing Americano, breakfast melt with lemon garlic sauce and a pastry… I’ve been to Almost Heaven desserts it least 20 times in the last four years and each time the service is spectacular (never the same person), coffee is wonderful, every dessert, sandwich, bagel has been delicious and just as good if not better than the last time.
I can’t wait til my next trip back!

We were driving through town, and we thought we would grab some quick dessert from a new bakery or dessert place. There were many kinds of cheesecake on hand in the cases. My boyfriend got the German chocolate and I had some sort of very chocolately cheesecake. They were both average. I’m not overly picky about cheesecake, but mine was just not ‘special’ nor did it have that rich, decadent chocolate flavor that I was expecting based on its appearance. My boyfriend’s German chocolate cheesecake did not meet his expectations; the topping was typical, but the it was like German chocolate topping on regular cheesecake. A bit disappointing.
I had an excellent cappuccino though!

I was going to a dinner party. I said I would make dessert. I was going to make a carrot cake. Something came up and I ran out of time. I stopped in to see what goodies I could take to the party. The gal behind the counter said I could get a carrot cake if I picked it up at the bakery after 3 pm. This was great, I thought… I stopped at the bakery on my way to the dinner party. My cake was ready. I was quite shocked at the price for such a small cake. But that was fine. I had a yummy carrot cake in my hands… I thought. The dinner was wonderful. It was now time for dessert and coffee. The carrot cake had a whipped birthday cake frosting. Carrot cake is best with cream cheese frosting. I guess it was my mistake. I never specified cream cheese frosting. I scraped the birthday cake icing off of my slice of cake. The cake was dry and had a strange taste and texture. It was definitely a freezer burn taste. For what I paid, I would hopefully get a freshly made cake. Looking around the dinner table… Folks had taken a bite or two and politely pushed it aside. That was first and last experience.

Really good canolis and cheesecake. I took home a piece of the truffle cheesecake and it was the first time I actually used the phrase «FOODGASM» it was true heaven. I hope this place ships because I want another one of those cheesecakes.

The chocolate decadence cake was delicious. Went back one week later for another slice… Also their oatmeal raisin and choc chip are tasty.

Pretty stellar little place. All I had was the coffee but the ambiance was on point. The desserts looked awesome. The coffee was delish, and the girl behind the counter was very friendly. Overall a great spot to sit down and chill, have a serious convo (or a not so serious one), or even take a date.
Only con… the wi-​fi isn’t the greatest.

Terrible Experience. Bad communication ordering a basic cake. Cake was not brought to the correct location. The wrong cake was make and didn’t find out until after I paid for it. Only go there if you have very low expectations. The day I went to the Clarksburg location there was milk and cream sitting on the ground outside the front door on a hot day. Strange to get a delivery and have it sitting in the sun.

I went in to pickup a couple of treats for after dinner, got 2 brownies and 2 turnovers. Brownies were stale and crunchy and turnovers have almost nothing inside. A huge disappointment. I would rate it minus star if possible

Great little place to get a coffee and something sweet. We love taking our daughter there and just relaxing for a bit.

Would eat here everyday if I could :) Great food, great people, great atmosphere!

I’m in love with this place! Great atmosphere, strong coffee and desserts to die for. When I was pregnant, the apple pie was a must. The only thing I wish they would change is they don’t ever sell any «birthday» type cake by the slice – it’s all cheesecakes and pies and pastries. I’ve had their regular chocolate cake with buttercream frosting for a birthday, and it’s amazing – sometimes I would just like to stop in for a slice of it.

What an awesome find by sister who lives here! She’s tried a few mocha shakes here before, but never had their desserts. Well sis, today’s OUR lucky day!
(I can attest to how delightful those shakes are… sis and I shared one the day before– things always taste better when you share w/​those you love, don’t you agree?)
I liked this shop the moment I entered it! Brick walls, chalkboard menus, and wooden floors gave the shop a very homey, old-​time feel. However, the black counters, tables, and chairs kept the place from feeling too stuffy. The coffees here are made from coffee beans roasted in-​house, and most, if not all, of the desserts are also homemade; This shop supplies many of the local restaurants, one of which is Oliverio’s (review coming soon!)
There were so many pastries to choose from, it was almost impossible to choose! My sister already knew what she wanted to try (having eyed it those few times she’s ordered the shakes)– a slice of the tiramisu cheesecake. My salivary glands were working overtime at the sight of so many enticing possibilities, and had not another customer ordered the blackberry cobbler beforehand, I’d probably still be standing there hypnotized…
Armed w/​a couple mugs of coffee, a mocha shake, and plastic forks and knives, we threw caution to the wind and dug in! The first item served was the tiramisu cheesecake– it looked so rich, I almost didn’t give it a try. (Those that know me would say, «Yeah, right! You’re not fooling anyone, Aileen!») This was so flavorful, yet felt so light, it didn’t feel at all wrong to have two more bites (or three or four). It’s served w/​homemade whipped cream… delicious! Lucky for my sisters, I had the blackberry cobbler handed to me a few minutes later (I had it warmed). It came w/​a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The photos I’ve included of it do not give this sweet dish any justice… Trust me, it looked wickedly tempting in person! The blackberry cobbler wasn’t too sweet, which I very much appreciated, and the ice cream complemented the hot sweet dish perfectly! I don’t think my two sisters had a taste of it, being so satisfied w/​the tiramisu. I doubt they stood a chance at sampling it though… Mom and I did good work at finishing it in no time! (OK, OK, OK… she threw in the towel ¹⁄₃ into it. I finished the rest: D)
Almost Heaven Desserts truly deserves its name… If the quality and service remain the same on our next visit, I’ve no doubt I’ll be upgrading my rating to 5 stars!

Great desserts!!! Almost heaven has a large variety of cheesecakes, pies, cookies, and cakes. The birthday cakes from here are the best I’ve ever tasted. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere.
