This place is so great! We stayed on our way up to Oregon and then four days on our way back to California. It is a smaller(therefore not busy except on holidays), clean, well put together RV park. We had full hookups with our RV, in a pull through site, awesome views of the mountain and reservoir(even though it was low), and saw some awesome summer storms over the mountains. The host Jeffery is a super sweet, helpful guy and takes much pride in his park. Rates were $ 35 a night which was we thought was great. He has RV and tent sites as well. The RV sites have picnic tables and trees. The tent sites have a little grass area, BBQ, fire pit with wood already, there is a designated pet area including doggie bags available for the waste! Horseshoe pit, clean bathrooms/showers, and laundry facility. We had a great time here and had chosen this one over a couple of others and so glad we did. The RV park down the street, Paradise Shores, we saw as we had to go get ice there and it is very cramped and the little streets would have been very difficult to navigate pulling a trailer. Also the other site we had thought about was Willow Springs up the 395 as we were going to Bodie Ghost Town one of the days but this one seemed that the enter/exit may have been difficult as the road is a little windy up there. We were able to go Bodie and it only took about 20 minutes to get there from the reservoir. Also Jeffery told us about some hot springs and an old mine that was right close and they were both really neat! Definitely be going back there again!

This place is awesome! They offer all the amenities for RV hook ups and fishing… Dry camping looks ideal as well. Good prices on sites and boat rentals, and the fishing is just as amazing as the view!

This is one of those random finds that looks so-so but then turns out absolutely great. The tent camps are right by the lake and run $ 20. The staff(Jeffrey especially) was super friendly. We rented a fishing boat for another $ 20 for ½ an hour and they told us to keep it as long as we want. The bathrooms were about the nicest camp bathrooms I’ve seen. The place is in the desert so it’s a bit dusty, and the lake is ¼ filled with lake grasses and lilies, but apparently has some really good fishing. Tooling around the lake(actually doing boat-donuts) we saw a bald eagle, plus a bunch of other birds and critters. Bottom line — they aren’t fancy or deluxe, more homespun than anything — but they are friendly and won’t damage your bank account.

In town for trout season. besides the public(i.e. free, sandy, unattended) launch, this is the only other way to get a boat on the lake. The help at the dock was variable. From energetic and helpful to almost alseep. In any case, energetic was quick to make suggestions, point out lake feature, and lures to try. The«marina» is a dirt/gravel lot with a concrete apron dropping into a burm protected marina. Wind is kept down to a breeze so launching isn’t too bad. The scenery is amazing. It’s the high Sierras, so what else would you expect. The weather had just turned warm, bu the fishing was so-so. I’d come back. It was easy enough to drop the boat in and pay for a slip each night(same price as a launch). Launch = $ 10 Slip = $ 10/day $ 60/wk From their flyer… Boat rental = $ 70/day RV Site = $ 32/day $ 192/wk Camp = $ 20/day $ 120/wk
