Captain’s Pizza House

I’ll admit, this place isn’t what it use to be. It was once one of my favorite pizza restaurants in Bridgeport for take out, but it now seems to have gone down hill. The overall exterior and interior is not quite pleasing. Some hole in the walls are worth it but this one is not. Pretty affordable but the pizza is mediocre at best. Tried a half pepperoni and half mushroom pizza along with some of my dads lasagna. The sauce used in the dishes are average nothing special in terms of spices, depth of flavor and so on. I can’t even put my finger on it, but something tasted off. Service wasn’t the best. Staff seemed bothered when asked for things they should supply in the first place (utensils, plates). Will not be returning anytime soon.

Good Greek style pizza. Quick service. Good place to bring the family. Food was piping hot when it came to us. I think I have found my go to Greek pizza place in Bridgeport.

I went to Captains for lunch and found the place to be uncleaned. The seats and floors were filthy Then saw a mouse running around and went under the soda machine. Left immediately but told waitress about the filthe and then the mouse. My coworker went and told the manager about the issue and he said it wasn’t his fault the mouse was in his establishment. The dirt was a problem because of last night’s wait staff This is your business clean it! 0 stars! It should be closed down immediately by the state. I can’t post unless I choosea star.

Put it this way… I was obsessed with there chicken souvlaki salad until I found a surprise in mine one day and had to throw the whole salad in the trash
Now I will never go back
Plus I think the new cook is not that great
The salad didn’t even taste the same

This place holds a special place in my heart. When I would come to visit my grandparents in the summer, my grandfather and I would always go and get pizza. This was our place. Coming back after all this time I had to come back.
They still have some of the best pizza. Nice crust. Really crispy. Great cheese. As you go through it gets even better on the last few slices.
Décor…terrible. But I want pizza not candlelights and a pheasant. My wife said the female bathroom looked like someone had exploded on the walls. She wouldn’t use it and wouldn’t let my mother go back there. The men’s was actually clean.
The waitress was not good. Hardly anybody was in there. We had 9 people were in no rush and you would have thought the world was ending. She never came back to offer a refill and we had to go up to the counter to pay.
3 stars for the food and nostalgia. If I ever went through again I would order to go and eat in the car.
Oh and the heat was on or something. We were sweating more inside than outside and it was like a 90° day.

I used to love this place (small pepperonis are the truth… sausage too). I went in there last week and had the worst experience ever. I ordered a chicken caesar salad and took it home. Don’t get me wrong, the food tastes really good but right when I got towards the bottom, I found a bug on a piece of lettuce. I’m not a bug expert but it wasn’t a fly or an ant. The way that bug was nestled in that lettuce, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that this has happened before. I was so disgusted and I’m NEVER going back. Sucks because this used to be my go-​to spot for years. I have NO tolerance for bugs in my food!

Super greasy Pizza, and the customer service is terrible. Definitely not worth the price. Would rather drive into Fairfield for Franks Pepe’s pizza.
When I say greasy I mean it drips and your fingers drip oil after you have taken a bite.

I’ll admit, the pizza is a little greasy and the restaurant is in need of repair but overall, I think it’s great! They treat regulars very well.
I would recommend it for take out (but prob not for eat– in).

The food was horrible and poorly presented to the customer, I went there and took a friend out for her birthday it was a group of us around 5 people… and I ordered a nice soup come to find out it was a soup from the can although they called it «authentic homemade soup» but Ive had a lot of foods from cans and let me tell you that tasted like cans! But again I didnt wanna point that out even more cause the food had not arrived and who knows the things people do to your food when you make a mockery of where they work. Thats another thing I would not recommend you do Get smart with the waiter or make bad comments of any sort… before your meal comes and you better be careful on those refills too. Wait till your food comes first and get your last drink. I would not go back to that place even if they had free fridays. Maybe for the bar thats about it.

I want the suvlaki at this Greek pizza. Very tasty and very fresh. Pizza is very fresh crunchy and cheesy if you like it Greek this is the place. I go there weekly with a friend and sit in booth that needs repair but it’s all good.
