Conneticut DMV

I started the timer on my phone when I walked in the door and stopped it when I left.
4 hours and 3 minutes.
I got there 30 minutes before they opened and there were about 50 people in line in front of me.
I needed to switch my CA drivers license to a CT license and then register my car in CT for the first time.
Service was hit and miss. A few employees were cool and helpful and others were just there. Not rude, not nice, just there.
Take a day off if you need to come here. It’s a nightmare.

i went there for the 4^th time in 15days and there was over 300 people and only two workers. i was there at the opening and nothing was done right. i was given false information, i was treated badly and yet i still waited in the lines for oever 3 ½ hours. this needs to stop. they need to make sure there is enough worker to get people in and out

Line out the door… One person to process the line … Guess that computer upgrade was really worth it … Nice to see my tax dollars so hard at work …

5 separate lines to get a license transferred from NY to CT. This place needs a serious overhaul.

Rude and incompetent, the CT DMV makes it as difficult as possible to arrange license tests.

Today to get a new plate and register a car I had a 4 hour wait because all the illegal aliens getting free drivers lisences! The line wraps around the building and down the street, so be ready to get frustrated!

The DMV made an error on our address but they made it our headache to correct. If you make a mistake, man up and take responsibility and try to help us, don’t make us the enemy when YOU made the error. Beyond horrendous customer service, you totally lived up to the reputation of the DMV!

So while the wait is long, it is bearable because the employees are friendly and helpful! I was pleasantly surprised. Even at 11am on a Saturday after answering the same questions and procedures all week, no one had an attitude. There is even a woman that comes down the long line (that spills out of the building) inquiring why you are there and giving you your ticket and directing you to where you need to be. In addition to them calling out the numbers they have them on the TV and an explanation of what the letter and numbers on your ticket reflect. Which some people didn’t read and kept asking them, and they were polite about it. For instance, my number was D616 when I sat and waited to be called they were calling out D797 but because I can read I knew that D700 and up were there for a different reason than myself and I had not been passed over. The facility was clean, organized, and in a great location right off the highway. Maybe because I avoid the DMV like the plague (thank you AAA) I was ecstatic that they now have a credit card reader, although I came prepared with my dusty check book too. I can’t really complain about the wait, that is the nature of the beast, it was not a bad experience. I do recommend going around 11am on a Saturday. I initially drove there at 7:45am to find a line that wrapped around the building! I admire everyone’s dedication, it was just too cold for me! There is ample parking too! Try it out, not bad!

Actually one the better DMV’s I’ve experienced and there has been quite a few! Reasonably polite and helpful staff, ridiculous lines and poor organisation but that’s the DMV at large.

Wow… As long as this line is you would think the D.M.V. was giving away money. The fact of the matter is these people are waiting to pay the State. Connecticut costumer service at its best.
