We tried this practice twice and have since switched. Our first appointment I had called a month previously and provided them all our dental insurance information. I took my son out of school early and after we arrived we waited over an hour and a half; they explained they had to wait for insurance confirmation/approval from their business office. Why did they not do that earlier and I resent my son missing class when he didn’t need to! There is no privacy… big open treatment area; I heard all the details of the poor dental condition of the child next to us. The hygienist wasn’t very friendly or thorough and then disappeared when done cleaning; didn’t even explain we were to wait for the dentist or say goodbye or anything… pretty rude I feel. The dentist are primarily foreign from what I saw and the dentist herself was nice, friendly, and thorough. A shame she doesn’t work elsewhere… she we’d see again. We went back again and the front desk staff, hygienist, and dentist were fine but lots of screaming kids running wild in the play area right next to waiting area gave us all headaches. My son commented that both times that were the only Caucasians among the dozens of other patients and families waiting. This is NOT a racial comment in anyway, just an observation from my son.

Kool Smiles of Bridgeport recently opened, and although the look and the name makes you think it’s just dentist for kids only, will find out it’s a dentist for the whole family. From the front desk, x-rays, teeth cleaning, and the dentist our(my wife & I) first experience was very good. The concept is child friendly, there is a playground for the little ones. The set up is open and does not give you that typical dentist atmosphere. Next appointment is for the kids, wonder how that will turn out.
