I’ve been bringing my clothing to Maria for many years(about 12−13yrs if not longer)…whether it’s a quick hem that needs fixing to all out tailoring/alterations. She’s extremely skilled, however I can no longer take her unprofessionalism. I dropped off a few dresses, blouses, and slacks in September. I stopped by 2 weeks later on a Saturday during normal hours to pick up my clothes — the door was locked. No sign on the door to indicate a «break or brb». I called and left her a message, she never returned my call. This is not the first time this has happened but I let it go. I finally picked up my clothes on 11⁄22 and I noticed a few blouses were damaged — she said that’s the way I brought them(not so!). This was the first time I experienced this type of issue with her. I still decided to leave 2 slacks to be hemmed and a jacket zipper to be fixed. She told me they would be ready in 1 week. Here I am standing in the shop 1 week later and nothing was done! I drove 35mins out of my way today and have done so numerous times as a loyal customer to give her my business. I asked her if she would knock off a few bucks for the inconvenience since I would have to come back and she said no. She continued to say that she is cheaper than anyone else. Well I will take my business elsewhere and pay $ 2 more if I have to for professionalism.

When I first walked in she was talking on the phone and completely ignored me. If I had had another choice(my usual tailor being out of town) I would have left but decided to stick it out. When I came back a week later to pick up my items she had completely forgotten about them and did not have them done. When I did finally get my items back I found that the alternations had been done very poorly. The cleavage of the v neck dressed I wanted raised was lop sided and puckered with the stitch showing. The dress pants I wanted the waist brought in was done so tightly I could barely get in them and she sewed my pockets halfway shut without asking. In short she ignored all the measurements she had taken. I now have to go back and get my items fixed. I have yet to decide whether I am going to trust her to fix her mistakes or whether I am going to have her undo her work, give me my money back and go elsewhere. I would only trust this woman with hems and only if you have lots of time to waste

I would have given her more stars if she stopped yakking on the phone with personal phone calls and did her job. I have yet to walk in there without her talking on the phone. She does ok work on sewing. She doesnt pay attention to what you tell her and it could be the accent she has. She also is a little on the rude side and should speak better to her customers. After all without customers she wouldnt be so lucky to work out of her home. She also only takes cash.
