I was number 38! Remember me! I ordered at 1:26! I am leaving now at 1:50! You forgot my order and made me sit there. You could have offered me a free soda while I waited for you! Thank goodness I said something because you would’ve kept on serving everyone else who entered after me! Never again will you see me. Lousy customer service. Your service stinks to high heaven! And don’t forget it!!!

My husband grew up in Bridgeport so this was a place he had to take me. He loves the chili burgers!!! I had a cheeseburger and we shared fries and a drink. It was all great. Another time we went I had the chicken sandwich. That was ok, I’ll stick to the burger next time. We try to come here every time we are in the area. Nice and clean and good food.

Joint # 75: TOMLINSON’S RESTAURANT, Bridgeport, CT07-20-2015. Tomlinson’s Restaurant started as a very small hot dog stand in the 1930s by Harry Tomlinson. Harry passed in 1947 and a Greek family purchased the business, keeping the same name. Although Tomlinson’s has seen it’s fair share of changes over the years, owners Nick and brother Constantinos run the business based on the good food that started it all. RATING(S):… J. Diggity Dog: 8/10, Dog Man Sac: 8⁄10. J. Diggity said, «So we had a beef Sabrett — mustard, onion, sauce. Onions were good — they were their own onions. Chili is homemade. They make if from scratch. I thought the chili could use some more spice to it. It was decent, but not up to the spicy level I would like. The mustard was good as well. Overall, bun was good. Fried dog. I’m going with an 8.0 — come on down and check out Tomlinson’s.» Dog Man said, «We’re doing the beef Sabrett, all beef, it’s a fried dog. Went with the homemade chili, which for me, I would have liked a little more spice. I would have also liked a ‘meatier’ flavor to the chili. It seemed like thick sauce. I would have done a meatier flavor if I could. Mustard and onions seemed fine. The owner was very, very nice. He came over and talked to us for a while. We appreciate his hospitality. I am a Dog Man Sac 8.0 for Tomlinson’s.» ***For many more HOTDOG reviews, pls LIKE us at:

I’ve been a customer for over 40 years and the hot dogs are as good as ever. The chili varies from time to time. Onion rings are always great. I never tire of that order. the only thing missing is the old Greek guy. RIP.

Had their Greek salad and tater tots recently then I notice I haven’t written a review on this location. I love their tater tots always hot and crispy. I have been here a few times for breakfast and lunch. I haven’t been disappointed yet. My husband always gets the bacon egg and cheese which is his favorite. I have had the sausage egg and cheese on a roll very good. If your look for some good eats this is a place to check out. I have also had their shakes which is good I can not complain. Every time I visit my In laws i always make a stop for my breakfast.

We stopped in yesterday on our way back home, have not been here in years. I used to go back in the 70’s with my grandfather when the little shack was on the corner, such great memories. Anyway we both ordered a chicken gyro and it was basically ok but the tzatziki sauce was very plain and just tasted like mayo. It made the gyro boring. The French fries were good. Next time I’ll try the hot dogs, my friends told me they are really good.

I wish people would stop comparing Tomlinson’s to the old shack I still think the food there is pretty good and the cheese burgers and hot dogs are delicious

Man when you think of your childhood and the places that bring back those memories!!! Tomlinson’s is that for me, standing outside in the cold waiting to get inside just so you could order your food was an incredible experience. The Hotdogs and Burgers were always amazing, add some chili and you were in heaven… Not many places can conjure up this feeling for me, but if you’re ever in Bridgeport this is where you need to go!!!

Tomlinsons is a greatplace for a freat burger or dog. When i go i usually order the foot long dog with chili and cheese. The chili has a lil kick to it but its really good! Frenchfries sometimes i really over do it. Chili cheese fries. Its worth the overdose of chili and cheese! The food is reasonably priced and the place is clean. ive never gotten anything from here that wasnt good… food is always tasty. Hot food is hot cold food is cold. Not like mcdonalds where the food sits for who knows how long where taste and quality are compromised.

It’s a shame what this place has become. When I was a kid they had the best hot dogs around, back then it was a little shack and was tremendous. I don’t know what kind of hot dogs they use now but they are not even close to what they use to be… they are now wrinkled, dry and tasteless. Making things even worse now is the people who work there. Walked in tonight and I’ve never seen more miserable people. And to top things off they got my order wrong and when I went back in to let them know them seemed like I was bothering them. If you want a good dog with friendly service, drive a few miles up the road to the Merritt Canteen.

Tomlinson’s has changed over the years, but it is still my favorite burger joint. The cheeseburger with the works keeps me loyal, but the steak sandwich is one on my new faves. I am happy to drive past any McDonald’s or even the Canteen to get a Tomlinson’s burger. :)

Tomlinson’s is among the best fast food restaurants in Fairfield County. Everything is cooked to order with big portions. Cashiers are friendly and the line moves quickly. The last time I visited the restaurant the manager was at the front of the line asking every customer if they needed anything else before they left. Tomlinson’s steak fries and curly fries are to die for, and their veggie burgers are delicious with lots of veggies instead of being made entirely of soy beans. My family members love their regular cheeseburgers and prefer them over any other burgers in town. The only place in Bridgeport that rivals Tomlinson’s is the Merritt Canteen.

I have been going there since the 70’s. Loved the crispy pop of the Hummell hot dogs when you bit down on them. Years ago the«Greeks» used to place the hot dog in boiling grease for less than a minute and then finish it off on the hot grill. While it was cooking, the roll would be spattered with melted butter and then placed on the grill to lightly brown and heat up. Before putting the hot dog in the roll, they would drop bacon bits in the roll before the hot dog nestled in the bun. That is what made the hot dog great and not like other hot dogs in the area. Cooking it in the grease would flash fry the dogs to keep in the juices and then to the hot skillet to burn off the excess grease. Went there yesterday and requested a chili and onion hot dog. I brought a friend that never been there before so i dragged her there to experience what a great hot dog taste like. She tasted it and said«so whats the big deal?» I looked in my bun and it looked like another lifeless hot dog you can buy at a stand. No toasted bun, no bacon bits and i wasn’t sure it was a Hummel hot dog!!. The chili and onion is what i remembered, hot and spicy . The key to a good business is not to change your recipe. if you don’t stick to what your know for… why go at all. Very disappointed. Share your thoughts
