Great place to come and get away from the city. Excellent fishing and beautiful scenery. Now I live up here and wouldn’t ever go back to the big city. Love it here.

Rented a boat from twin lakes resort. Dock staff was very helpful and friendly and made sure we had a great time on the lake. Will definitely be renting again.

My husband, 5 yr old grand daughter stayed at Lower Twin Lakes for 4 days! What a beautiful campground! Tim & Misti the owners along with Robert were awesome & so very helpful! Keith in the boathouse was also very personable & helpful! We fished, walked in the rain & had a night of s’mores at our campsite with our friends!!! I wish this place was closer to Los Angeles cause I would go back every weekend if I could!!! I’ll def be going back again! Plenty of space for our Motorhome & we could put a few tents out if needed!!! Def giving this place the 5 star review they deserve!!!

What a wonderful area. Have stayed at Robinson Creek, and Lower Twin Lakes campgrounds. Plenty of outdoor activities, and places to explore. Boat and fish both lakes, drive to ghost towns, hike to waterfalls and alpine lakes. Local availability of restaurants, showers, laundromat, general stores, cabins, RV parking. Two resorts to choose from. All this and Bridgeport an easy drive of 14 miles away.

I absolutely love this place! There is no better place to go when you want beautiful country and away from everyday life. I fish here all the time and always do well. The hardest part about coming here is having to leave! My family loves coming here and this will be something we do as long as possible.

What an amazing place! I grew up coming to twin lakes and have stayed just about everywhere on both lakes and Robinson Creek. My family and I are the new owners at Twin Lakes Resort, resort you see on your right hand side as soon as you hit the lower lake. There is so much to do in the area, hiking to waterfalls, alpine lakes tucked away in the hills, rock climbing, relaxing and best of all, THEFISHINGISAMAZING! Huge fish have been pulled out of both lakes, a 17 pound brown was just pulled out a month or so ago. I definitely suggest this area for a vacation! You can see more on our facebook if you want to explore the area. or at

I booked a campground here completely by chance, not knowing anything about Twin Lakes or Bridgeport. My friends and I simply needed a place to stay on the way home from our road trip to Idaho. So many of the campgrounds I looked up were booked, but I finally found the Lower Twin Lakes Campground with some openings, so I immediately booked. Since it was still open, I didn’t have high expectations. But WOW! This is probably the most beautiful campground I have ever been to, and it is such a beautiful drive to get to the Twin Lakes. Our campground was right next to a river, and was equipped with a bear locker, fire pit, picnic table, and jugs of water to put out the fire. The bathrooms are located at the end of the road, and are typical campground restrooms. I didn’t spend much time at the actual lakes, but from what I did see was amazing. I want to go back so I can spend some time on the water. Also, the town of Bridgeport is so cute. My visit to Twin Lakes was too short and so amazing. If you decide to visit, I would definitely recommend the Lower Twin Lakes Campground.

Never camped here at the lower twin(usually stay at upper) but always make a point to spend a few days fishing here. Always done real well and as the previous poster mentioned, some monsters have come out of this lake. Never real crowded but it can be a challenge to find a «comfortable» fishing spot as you usually have to walk down a hill and sit on a rock. Lucky for me I got used to that pretty early on fishing with my family. Overall, definitely try the lower twin for fishing.

An important part of my family’s yearly excursion to Mammoth was the one or two days we spent venturing out to Bridgeport. The town itself is pretty small and pretty interesting(more to come in a future review), but the main reason we drove through in later years was to get to Twin Lakes, or as my dad calls it, Twin Lakes Bridgeport.(There’s also a twin lakes in Mammoth Lakes and I’m sure in dozens of places in the US.) I’ve only shore-fished here, and although the terrain can be unforgiving(the lakes are in a mountain gorge, so the shores are rocky and steep and the water gets very deep very quick) and I’ve lost dozens of lures on the same fallen tree, I always enjoy my time here. Because of the lake’s depth, the fish here can be pretty massive. We’ve only caught normal-sized brown and rainbow trout here, but I’ve seen a bunch of the biggest ones mounted at nearby bait shops, and it’s hard to believe brown trout get that big. What I like most about the lakes, though, is that despite all the boating going on and the RV campground at the end of the west lake and the highway right behind where you’re fishing, it still feels peaceful. Or maybe I should say that after a boat or SUV passes, it’s amazing how quickly everything returns to silence.(Then you just wait for the wake from the boat to splash your shoes.) It’s also beautiful territory, and whenever we fish here, I always look up at the southwestern mountains and know that just over the ridge is Yosemite National Park. I believe you can drive all the way around both lakes, although I’ve never done that.
