Gateway Gun Club

Loved it loved it loved it. So instead of buying my mom something she does not need or stuff her full of inflated brunch food, I took her shooting! I had a feeling we were going to be good at it and I was right lol. The instructor was totally awesome. Very knowledgeable and patient with our questions. For first timers the prices were totally reasonable, considering you have to pay for everything down to the ear plugs. For people of course with their own equipment the prices seem über reasonable. BTW– I had made an appointment at another gun range for Mother’s Day 2 weeks back with an instructor. I had called them the day before to confirm the appointment to which they told me they decided to close on Mother’s Day. As soon as I Unilocaled gun range this came up and ever so grateful that they were open or my Mother’s Day would have been totally f’d up. thanks again

These folks go above and beyond to make you feel welcome… Great trap an skeet fields. They also have an indoor pistol range an supplies along with ammo. I’m sure they have a bunker also but try not to go that far down the line. Lol

I’m not what you would call a «gun person.» When I saw the abbreviation CCW, I thought, «hmm.now what airport does that stand for? Connecticut?»
I joined a Well Armed Women class for a night with a friend, mostly on a whim, mostly because I was free, not really thinking that the night would actually come.
Well, there we were, pulling up to Gateway Gun Club, watching a group of about 5 young boys systematically shoot little frisbees out of the sky (yeah, I know, they’re called Skeet). The little fellas seemed to know what they were doing! They were methodical and not one of them swung the gun around or poked his eye out.
We walked into the Club and were greeted by two lovely ladies who immediately put my nerves at ease. For the next hour we learned some basics regarding types of guns, ammunition and gun safety. We even talked to a real, live policeman!
Then, we shot .22s. Yikes stripes. Pretty powerful.
Again, the staff followed us into the indoor range and were helpful, but also firm in their insistence on the rules of safety. It was incredibly reassuring.
I’m not sure I’ll sling on a holster or buy my own «Sweetness» (does anyone watch Colbert?), but it was an empowering, totally rad new experience. Thanks GGC and WAW.

I have not frequented many ranges in the area, and no shot gun ranges but this one. That being said I was highly pleased. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The range was spacious and me and my friends had quite a good time.
The prices were fair and was impressed that in-​spite of using a house shot gun I could use ammo from that was not provided by them. I will be back.

If your tired of small minded gun club bullshit politics (like at the St. Louis Trap and Skeet Club), this is the place to go. It’s a great place for shotgun sports like trap or skeet. The place is very laid back and it’s cheap enough to shoot here. The staff are great and eager to help.

For the shotgun enthusiast, this is the place in St. Louis to go. They have nine lanes all equipped for trap and skeet, and a special area for five-​stand. Tom, the owner, is very knowledgable and happy to help with any questions you might have. There are many resources for beginners, including references to instructors and even leagues if you’re just starting out. There are also message and bulletin boards for the upcoming leagues and shoots, as well as for sale/​wanted ads.
The only real drawback to the Gateway Gun Club is the price. There a few other places in the metro area that are cheaper, but you will not have the same experience. All in all, if you’re looking to have some fun and you enjoy sporting clays, Gateway Gun Club is the place to be.
